Chapter 93: Chapter 93
Though a tracker was put on her, the police hadn't been able to put a speaker transmitter in her ears or clothes so that they could hear what was being said and they felt that that was one of their failures for not thinking of that earlier. They quickly gave it to Bryan just in case Devon asked for him as well.
When Sharon got there not caring what her fate would be because she was already too scared for her daughter, she saw a sick smile break on Devon's face.
'You are finally here, ma'am. I finally got you where I want you', she said but Sharon did not utter a word. She did not want to antagonize her and force her to harm her daughter or even herself. If there was a chance that they would get out of there safe, she was willing to endure any insult to achieve that.
'No comment? This is surely wonderful. I was expecting a sharp comeback from a snatcher like you. You saw that Bryan and I were together and yet you decided to come between us and you think that you would go Scot free? His is that even possible? It was in Serville that I decided that you had to be thought a lesson'.
Yet no response from Sharon who was vigilant but could find her daughter no where around.
'What are you looking around for? You surely didn't think that I would bring your daughter here? Bryan has a huge task to perform, he will have to save just one of you. Either he goes to where Deborah is to save her or save you first. He cannot have you both. And I must tell you that this is just the beginning of the lesson I have in mind for you'.
Sharon was panicking.
'Devon, I have never wronged you. When I saw you in his home, I tried to make friends with you but your hatred for me was something I could not understand', Sharon said pleadingly. Wondering where the hell her daughter was so that she could make a run for it even if it meant being injured. It would please her that Deborah was safe. Deborah who had been a source if joy and strength to her in trying times and who might be responsible for bringing her closer to Bryan her husband. She felt tear stinging her eyes but refused to show any other form of weakness in front of this sick girl.
'When I saw you on his bed, I thought he was really having an affair with you and I left to make way for you. I was not there to divert his attention from you. You said yourself when you were boasting of how you separated us for three years that I poisoned his mind'. That alone could have driven him into your arms but he did not love you else he would have married you but how could he marry his own sister? Would that not be sick? How do you expect it if him? Maybe you do not know the reason he brought you back from France. It was because he found his mother's diary where she stated that you were his sister and he did not want you to suffer. You are his sister's, she emphasized loudly. 'He could not have anything romantic to do with you'.
'Shut up. Have you not heard of siblings being romantically linked? Why should mine be different since I love him this much?' she screamed hysterically. Those outside and downstairs heard the scream and thought the worse but Sharon quickly calmed them.
'I am okay!'
Bryan wanted to rush into the building but Sharon's voice reassured her.
The police started moving stealthily into the building again from all angles without much sound. They felt that Devon's hysterical state indicated that her interest in watching had wane and they could go in without her being any wiser.
'I brought you some multivitamins drugs. It will be good for you and the unborn baby', Devon said smiling sweetly. So sweetly that it made Sharon very sick.
'I already had my drugs and the doctor said I must have no other type but the ones she has given me. It would be an overdose taking these ones as well', Sharon said sure that those were not multivitamins but some dangerous drugs to harm her and her unborn child. Was she not the one who said she was not through teaching her a lesson for coming between her and her love? How had she suddenly changed and have her best interest at heart or that of the unborn baby that she would definitely think would take Bryan farther away from her?
'Well it is none of my business. You have to take this drugs here and now or watch your daughter die '.
Sharon did not know what to do. She believed now that the drugs were to harm her baby and her and she started wondering if Deborah was even alive. She started panicking again but tried to console herself because she knew that it could motivate her to do more if she found that she was frightened just for the satisfaction of seeing her more frightened and suffering.
She collected the drugs from her. 'Alright then if that is what you really want. If you want to harm an unborn baby who doesn't even know you yet and have not done anything to harm you, so be it. Let its blood be on your head. I am the one you want to teach a lesson, why bring innocent children into it?'
'What a stupid question. Why else but because they are yours and harming them will cause you to suffer but no more talking. Take the drugs and let's get into the next stage of the game'.
Sharon sighted the police and while Devon's attention was diverted she signalled to them that her daughter was not there and they asked her to keep her talking so they could search around.
'You mean that harming people especially innocent children is a game to you? You are really sick indeed'. Sharon could afford to be bold mow that the officers had gone looking for her daughter. She hoped that they would find her and take her out of the building to safety so that she could deal with this girl the way she wanted. It no longer mattered that she was not in her senses. She was an enemy and should be treated as such.
'You also think that I am sick, is that it? You think that I am not in my senses, that was why your husband decided to lock me up in that hospital for a treatment that was not doing anything to me. Well now, you will also feel as sick as you suppose I am. Take the drugs now!' she screamed in fury.
Another set of officers came and apprehended her, taking the gun from her. They wondered where she got such a modern and loaded gun.
They wanted to take her to the police station but Bryan asked them to incapacitate her so that he could call her doctors to take over.
'She has to be questioned first. What if there is someone helping her? Who gave her the drugs she had been feeding my daughter with? And this dangerous drugs she was trying to force down my throat to harm the baby and me? She escaped from that hospital, how sure are we that she will not again?'
Bryan knew that though speaking out if justified fury, Sharon was saying the truth.
The other police officers came down carrying a baby and thank God it was Deborah.
