Chapter 92: Chapter 92

The door was opened and the doors went in and the switch was turned on and light flooded blindingly everywhere but there was no sign of the people being searched for but there were several things to indicate that they had been there.

There were used and disposed clothes, crumbs from good particles and some other such things.

Sharon was disappointed. More so than she hated to admit but how had they been in the house for sometime without them knowing about it? The answer lay in one tablet they saw on the floor. She had been drugging Deborah to keep her from being alert enough to cry.

Sharon started sobbing because such drugs could be detrimental to a child's health. She could be giving her more than the doze for a child

And keeping a child perpetually drug so that she won't cry out was dangerous according to what Sharon could deduce.

Bryan was helpless. He was filled with fury.

Sharon felt that she could come in and go as she pleased with no one being the wiser afterall she had lived there and knew the place like the back of her hands. She must have heard them talking of bringing in fogs and had gone away to another place.

The police gave the dogs to perceive again and they started jumping and running off to somewhere and the search party followed immediately. The situation had become urgent and there was no time to waste anymore.

The hunting dogs led them to a bush and onwards. There was a river close by. The dogs lost the scent of the people they were supposed to be hunting but thank goodness that the hunt party still had the clothes and after managing to cross the river, they allowed the dogs another scent of the clothes and the dogs started running towards a big house that seemed deserted.

There was no noise or cries if a child coming from there but the police trusted their trained dogs and we're about to walk in when they heard a high pitched hysterical voice.

'You finally found us. But not a step forward either from the front or the back. I am being very watchful. Just listen let me tell you my condition'.Devon said.

'Before your condition, allow the baby go'.

'But how can I when she is fast asleep? She just ate some ants and lizards and took her pills. Do she is relaxing at the moment and I do not want you to disturb her. She is my daughter afterall, the daughter of my love is my daughter and I could never harm her but if any of you take a step into this place, I shall do what I had restrained myself from doing Lol this while. I shall kill her. The choice is yours'.

Sharon who had gone with them despite their insistence that she stayed home because of her delicate condition, started sobbing uncontrollably.

Bryan looked at her and was filled with fury at all Devin was doing to his family. He tried to console her but his fury was leading him to run into the house and shake the living daylights out if Devon but anticipating this move, the police shook their heads. 'We know how to handle such cases. You will only make matters worse if you try to force it'.

'Then do something before I do something drastic, I am going out of my mind with anxiety'.

'Patience, Mr. Ferdinand, patience'.

That was something Bryan did not have and since he had been stopped from going in there, he spoke.

'Devon, you know that Deborah is your niece and she has done you no harm. Allow her go and then you can tell us what it is that you really want', he said barely keeping the anger and frustration out of his voice.

'Bryan, you know what I want. You have known that I love you but you went ahead and married that slow wit and got separated from me. You will have to send her away so that we can be together again the way we have always been when she went away before'.

'But I...'

He was going to say that he couldn't but the police asked him to just say something that would make her happy and feel a sense of false security.

'I shall consider what you have said but Deborah has to be sent out first. I need to know that she is okay'.

'Oh Bryan, don't you trust me anymore?' Can you see what that woman has done to us?' Devon said lamenting. But no problem. It shall all be solved today'.

While Bryan kept her busy with talk, the police were dividing themselves in groups and sneaking into the house.

'Don't think that I do not know what is happening. If the police does not retrace their footsteps, then I shall have no option but to kill your daughter'.

The police were shocked, how did she know? She must be using a binoculars or something. They heard the cork of a gun and everyone froze.

'Devon, what do you want?' Bryan almost shouted, his cool and calm deserting him.

'Send your wife in here. I want to have a word with her and then you all can go home happily and won't hear from me again', she lied.

Bryan felt that he could not take that risk. Devon already had his daughter and expected him to send in his beloved pregnant wife? What was she planning? To kill the whole of his family so that she could have him to herself?'

'What do you want to discuss with Sharon?'

'Well, it is just girl talk. Don't tell me that you are afraid? You should be but I shall try not to lose my temper if she behaves accordingly'.

Sharon stood, about to go in.

'No, Sharon it is dangerous and see your condition, there must be another way around this. Don't go in', Bryan advised.

Sharon shook her head stubbornly. 'If it is dangerous for me, consider what Deborah had been going through for the five days she had been with that crazy girl. If this is all I have to do to rescue my daughter from her clutches and save her life, then it is a small price to pay. Moreover, I have you backing me and I know you will not allow me to be harmed in any way at all'.

She started walking into the house.

'Easy Sharon, don't get any funny ideas into your head, else, that will be the last you will ever get and I mean it'.

Sharon did not say anything nor make any comment. She just kept walking in. She knew that this might be her last day on earth but at least she will have saved her beloved daughter and that was all she cared for st the moment'. She felt sad that she might be leaving Bryan, now that that they thought that they had eventually found happiness and the little innocent baby in her womb and to tell the truth, she did not want to die. She was still too young but it was all a sacrifice she had to offer. She would not forget the few times life had given her to be happy in Bryan'arms and in his home.ike a zombie who expected the worst, she kept moving in, following the directions the insane girl was quietly pointing out to her so that the police would not hear but before leaving, being aware that they were being watched, they had put a tracker into Sharon's clothes without her even knowing. A police officer had 'accidentally' bumped into her and had quickly fixed the tracker.
