Chapter 78: Chapter 78

Sharon had switched off her phone because she did not want any calls threatening or otherwise from Bryan but she realised that there may be other people like her cousin who would want to know where she was and might be worried about her. So she switched it back on.

The first call she got came in almost immediately. It was from Gabriel.

'Sharon are you okay?'

'Yes I am'.

'And Deborah?'

'She is good as well but I do not know what that man had given her, just a few days of knowing him and she is already missing him this terribly'.

'But you know the reason for that, don't you? She is no d to miss him because their blood is calling out for each other'. Gabriel said solemly.

'What do you mean?'

'Exactly what I have been telling you about all this while that he needs to know that she is his. You are suffering both father and daughter'.

'I was planning on telling him. We could not remain married without him getting to know sooner or later, you know'.

'Well his suspicions have risen. He just left this place after asking me if Deborah was his. He felt sure that she was his and after trying to find out how he could think that, he said he felt her crying out to him. He felt her need of him just like he missed her terribly' and that could only be possible if there was a stronger connection between them and seeing her coloration, he had come to the realization that she was his and was only there for confirmation'.

'And what did you tell him?'

'That I was not in a position to tell him about Deborah's father but that you could and would at your own time'.

'Did he accept that?' She asked because she knew Bryan and how he was used to having his way.

'He had no option but he was not satisfied and I know that he may have gone to ask someone else and I know that you know who he would go to'.

'Thank you for not telling him though I am surprised he did not bully it out of you. I'll call David now and ask him some questions. Deborah sends her regards.

'But why did you do this-- I mean run away after the wedding? aren't you tired of running? Why not stay for once and face your problems squarely?'

'Just give me a few days and I shall be done with anything that has to do with fleeing from Bryan and my feelings for him', she said seriously.

'I sincerely hope so. The earlier you start building your home, the better for you befire someone takes your place in your home no matter the kind of marriage you might think you have. It is in your hands to make it work. Use his weakness to draw him in. Be wise Sharon before it is too late!'

'You are right. I shall think about all that. Bye for now, I have alot of things to do'. She disconnected and sat down. What Gabriel said was the truth. At least before he grew tired of her, she could use his weakness for her body to make him do what she wanted, not that Bryan was the kind of person to dance to anyone's tunes but she was going to try and use all her feminine wiles.

She recalled that she wanted to call David.

She rang him and fir three times he did not pick and as she was about to give up, he picked.

'Thank goodness I got you. You must have been sleeping?'

'No, I was just remembering the crash and reminiscing'.

'David, why? We talked about this and said it was better if you forgot all about it. What is this about you remembering it again?'

'Your husband just left here and reminded me of it. He told me that I took his place out of jealousy and deprived him memorable time with his child while it grew in your womb. He felt I should have told him that the baby was his but I conspired with you to keep the news from him when it was his right to know'. David said resignedly.

'Oh David, I am sorry that I put you in this tight corner. But did you tell him that she was his?'

'I had no option but to but he had already deduced it himself, he was just here for war and I shudder to think what he would have done had I refused to confirm his suspicions. He would not take no for an answer and was not patient enough to wait till you got home to tell him yourself. You could have avoided all these if you had only told him. He went through hell when you ran away the first' time and when he heard of your marriage but you did not want to know or hear anything about him so I kept it from you. Now with both his children with you, I wonder what he will do to find you all and what he will do afterwards. Come home and placate him as only a wife can'.

'Thank you David for your advice. I shall and thank you for keeping my confidence for as long as you did. I do not blame you for divulging all to him, he is used to having his way and he can be very ruthless. But please stop thinking about the crash. Rebecca is gone and there is nothing you do that can bring her back. Just live in the present and do not allow anyone take your joy from you' she said seriously.

'Thank you Sharon

You have always been my guardian angel. But take your own advice as well and stop running. Face him. He is your husband afterall. If he was going to reject you, he would not have proposed to you nor married you no matter the circumstances. You have the edge. Use it'.

Sharon felt that all the men in her life were conspiring against her. David was already sounding like Gabriel.

'Alright, I shall. Thank you once again and take great care of yourself'.

So Bryan now knows that Deborah was his child as well? She could not have kept the secret for much longer anyway.

It was getting late and though her daughter was asleep, she decided to call for room service so that she would have something to eat when she woke.
