Chapter 79: Chapter 79

The next day, after a very troubled sleep, Sharon woke and was getting herself and her daughter groomed.

'Mum ate we leaving today?'

'No, not today'.

'But you said just a few days and we have stayed here three days already'.

'Be a little more patient little girl, I am almost done thinking and then we can go back'.

She went into the bathroom to have her bath, forgetting that she had left her phone on. The phone rang while she was in the shower and Deborah calked for her severally bit the noise from the shower did not allow her hear.

Deborah decided to answer the call for herself and it was none other than the person she had been meaning to see.

'Dad, is that you?'

At the mention of dad, Bryan nearly burst into tears. He did not know that in the space of a few days, his life would change totally. He was going to be reconciled with his daughter and be an expectant father at the same time. He was filled with joy and love for Deborah filled his heart.

'Why are you with your mother's phone, where is she?'

'She is in the shower and I have been calling her to pick her phone but she seem not to hear'.

'Okay, where are you? Do you know?'

'Nit exactly but we are in a hotel'. And Deborah gave him the name of the hotel. The name sounded familiar but he just couldn't place it.

'Alright, Deborah, can you do something for me?'

'What is that?'

'Don't put off your mummy's phone. Keep it on as long as you possibly can, I want to give you and your mother a surprise, okay? And it should be a secret between just the two of us, mum must not know about it okay?'

'Okay', she replied giggling.

Bryan had been tracing Sharon's phone with a device the police have him and it was just his luck that he called when Sharon was not around to cut short the conversation.

They were getting close to the location when he heard Sharon come into the room from the shower.

'Who were you talking to just now, Deborah?'

'Was I speaking to anyone?'

'I heard you speaking to someone. Hope you were not using my phone to call someone or did anyone call?'

' Dadcalled but you would not answer because you were in the shower so I told him you were bathing'.

'Did he say anything else?'

'No. But that he would surprise us when he finds us'.

Bryan was proud of his daughter. She did not lie to her mother and she did not also tell her their secret'. Pride and love welled in his heart for his daughter and he just could not wait to take her in his arms.

'Where is my phone?' Sharon demanded.

Deborah had been hiding the phone behind her back and refused to give it back.

Sharon was shocked at the behaviour Deborah was exhibiting.

'What is wrong with you? I wish to make a call and I am in no mood for your pranks'. She grabbed the phone from her daughter and saw that Bryan was still on the line and it shocked her because it meant that he had heard all they had just talked about. But before she could disconnect, Bryan cut the connection.

The action hurt her so much. It would not have killed him to just say a simple good day to her.

Bryan meanwhile had hot the location as Lake Peak and the name of the hotel his daughter mentioned suddenly registered. He had stayed there once on a business trip.

There was no time to waste he thought Before Sharon realised what had just happened and changed location again, making the work harder for him.

He got to Lake Peak through the fastest available means and Sharon was just going out with her daughter for some sight seeing when she heard a knock on the door.

With his charm and presenting their photographs to the lady at the reception, he had been told their room number and had gone straight there.

He did not wait to be asked in and did not knock again but just pushed open the door and behold, Sharon and Deborah were looking so good and edible. He did not pay any attention to Sharon but went straight to his daughter and have her a big tight hug and held on to her as though he was never going to let her go.

'Dad', Deborah giggled. ' You are holding me too tightly'.

Bryan loosed his hold but did not let go totally. He carried her on his leg and sat on the chair there, looking at her lovingly and Sharon was touched. She wondered why she stayed too long before introducing a father to his daughter. She could see the magnitude of the wrong she had done.

'I have missed you so much Dad. I was not really happy staying away from you but mum said it was going to be for a few days but thank you for coming and surprising us this way'.

'You helped to make it happen. Thank you, my darling. I have also missed you so very much and do you know, your mother has something to tell you in front of me here and now. I would have said it myself but she has to do it herself and she knows what I am talking about', Bryan said looking meaningfully at Sharon.

She could not pretend that she did not know what he was talking about.

She heaved a sigh. 'Deborah love, you know that I have always told you that your father went away to work?'

'Yes, mum but I do not need any other dad, I already found one for myself', she said innocently. Tears stung Sharon's eyes, Bryan kissed Deborah for that statement and looked icily at Sharon.

'Well you still have to hear me out. That father is back from his trip and he is none other than Bryan, the man carrying you. He is your real father and that was why you both connected instantly'.

'Really? You are my real dad who went away for so long?'

Bryan could not trust his voice, he just smiled charmingly at her and nodded.

'Then it is all well. My father -- my real father came back to me. He did not leave me because he did not love me

And he is married to my mother. Now we can be one happy family', she rattled on gleefully and Bryan kept looking at Sharon accusingly.

'Dad, you love me don't you?' she asked and Bryan was filled with anger towards Sharon that had they been alone, he would had shaken the life out of her. Look just hoe insecure his own daughter was about his feelings for her.

'Of course darling. I do not know of anything or anyone I love better than I do you'.

Deborah hugged him and gave him a perk on the cheek and Bryan positively cried and Sharon watching them felt like an intruder and could feel Bryan's anger and fir once she knew his anger was justified.

'And now, it is time for us to get going. Where are your bags?' he said looking at Sharon.

Sharon afraid of antagonizing him further, quickly packed their bags, knowing that her time and game were up and she would have to go home with them, else he would go home without her but for his baby in her womb.

After packing, they checked out of the hotel and went home.

Sharon knew that Bryan was just quiet because of their daughter and his wrath was just being held in check for when they would be alone and she shivered to think what punishment he had in store for her.
