THIRTEEN

THE RETURN OF THE OLD QUEEN.

Early that morning, Vincent wakes up only to find out Laura is gone again. He had searched everywhere for her hoping she might still be in the palace when he comes to realize she had escape again, he alerts the guard to shut the gate and makes sure no one comes in or go out of the kingdom.

Laura, was hurt when she realized her love was unrequited as the one she loved always wants someone else. Axel went for Cora and even Vincent mentioned another woman name in her face while drunk.

She was almost getting to the gate when she discovered the gate are all locked and the guards are having a few misunderstanding with a woman in hat and scarf as a mask.

"Damn it!" She hits her palm on her forehead as she walks to the guard.

"I need to get out!" She said, to one of the guards who just stare at her.

"And who are you!" he asks.

"Uhmm..."She thought of a name she can use to get out of the pack but remembering Vincent is yet to introduce her to the whole community it will be hard.

"Call the Alpha immediately!" one of them ordered.

"Yes!"he bowed and head off. She is so dead, she thought.

Jessica's, who had come in disguise on hearing the Alpha would be here seems to be satisfied and seize it as a chance to meet him.

"I need to get out of here;" Laura kept shouting annoying Jessica hearing.

"Can you keep your voice down, you crazy woman!" Jessica interrupted.

"What! do you know who I am before you call me crazy?" Laura turn to her forgetting Vincent will be with them anytime soon and she should be out before that.

"You!, is there anyone shouting except from you?. And whatever you are, I am sure you own no position as the queen mother" She scoffs, annoying Laura the more.

"How dare you talk to me with no manner?. Do you even know who I am?" Laura yelled angrily.

"Can you two stop shouting" a guard interfered but only got his own piece of insult they had been sharing to each other for quite sometime now.

"Who are you?" Jessica asks.

"I'm Vincent fiancee and you dare not talk to me like that or I will..."She stopped talking when Jessica burst into laughter making Laura sounds stupid. The guards chuckled too hearing someone claiming to be Alpha Vincent fiancee and even dare address him without his title.

"Are you stupid?. I'm sure you can have yourself killed for saying such a dangerous statement?" Jessica asks.

"Do y'all think I'm joking?"Laura asks, looking at them surprisingly. She was feeling kind of stupid for uttering that nonsense already.

"There is no way the guards won't know the Alpha wife even his ex wife memories remain in their heads so what are you talking about?" She asks.

"y'all are saying nonsense and know nothing" Laura replies trying to justify herself.

"And what is going on here" Alpha Vincent walks in with guards behind him. Jessica, smiled underneath as she attempt to remove the scarfs but Laura beat her to it.

"Vincent" She rush into his arms. Everyone gasped wondering for the next action as they are all aware of our cold the Alpha is since his ex-wife incident.

"I thought you had escaped again" Vincent embraced her the more surprising everybody even Jessica can't believe her eye.

"Let's talk about this later in the room" Laura whispered into his ear and he nodded and sniffles her fragrance, before pulling away.

"Who is she?" Alpha Vincent, of the blood pack asks as he stare at Jessica's in disguise suspiciously.

"She delivers wine to the palace, my king"One of the guards replies.

"Okay, let her in. I found who I search for already"he patted Laura hair and she smiled then turn to Jessica to stick out her tongue making her look more furious.

"Henceforth, this is my wife and any respect you are giving to me should be given to her too. I don't want anyone harassing her in the pack, I will introduce her properly to y'all in the evening after we meet with the queen mother and I still don't know why the wine deliver is still here"He turned to her, furiously.

"I'm sorry my king" She quickly carry her package and waylk away unfortunately won't be able to hear the rest of the plan.

She wasn't aware of his new wife and how much he had changed after meeting with this new woman who seems to irritate her alot and would which to get her head off her neck.

Whatever it is, she doesn't care and since she is the Alpha first love there are more chances. she is very sure the queen mother will never accept the offer and that gives her more chances to get back with him.

Alpha Vincent and Laura walk into the palace together holding hands having every body's jaws dropped to the floor. They head straight to their room and Vincent locked the door behind them.

"You were trying to escape if I'm right" He asks, looking at her furiously but trying to control himself.

"You mentioned her name last night and why did you drink so much last night?" She replies.

"See, I'm sorry if I had done something stupid last night but that doesn't change the fact..." He got interrupted by her.

"It doesn't change the fact you mention another woman's name, Jessica. Your ex-wife!" She yelled back at him.

"And you can't even wait till dawn for me to explain myself?" He asks.

"I don't want to talk about it" She replied, coldly looking away to avoid his gaze.

"I'm sorry, Laura. I didn't mean to do or say whatever rubbish that came out of my mouth last night. it is not easy as you think it is because you weren't here in the past" He adds.

"But, I am here in the future isn't that suppose to be what matters now?" She asks.

"I was at my mom's place yesterday"

"People tend to say the truth when they are drunk and I want to get out of this place" She interrupts him.

"We talked about you and...Wait, weren't you happy and excited when I told those guards you were my wife" He asks, she paused and readjust herself because she was only doing that because of they were mocking her and her wolf seems to be happy with the declaration.

"I tried telling them and they won't believe me" She shrugs.

"You ain't ashamed of me, Laura" He replies happily.

"I..." She pause and look at him.

"Really?." He asks.

"Can we talk about this later?. Why were you drunk last night?" She asks.

Alpha Vincent had gone to his mother's place to tell her about the ongoing situation in the palace and even the new invite by another pack, the silver pack to come together and fight the others during the full moon but on getting there what he met was something else.

She had moved on over his father with the personal guard he assigned to her without the information getting to him first.

Alpha Vincent drives into the house he had built for his mother after Jessica left and he became cold. He was expecting to meet her at the office or probably her room so when she wasn't in the office, he head straight to her mouth only to hear strange sounds he recognizes immediately and he stomp into the room angrily.

"Mom!" he yelled angrily, turning back as he doesn't want to see the mess his mother had created and head back to the living room.

"Vincent" his mother called, chasing after him behind already clothed.

"Where you just with Gary, your personal guard?" He yelled angrily.

"i was planning to tell you, I don't expect it to be this way and.. " She was cut off by Vincent.

"I don't care, you can continue with your dirty act. I just want to let you know I've found my mate and she now's stays with me." He breaks the important news to her.

"what! Your mate?. Impossible!" She declared, much to Vincent surprise. What is she talking about, he thought because he was expecting another reaction from her too.

"I will come to the palace. We've avoid this from happening for years and I won't let it happen, Do you even wonder how Jessica had been living?. You claim to love this woman and kick her out just because of just one single mistake that any stupid person would have done when..."

"MOM! She fucked her mate and that was the best thing that can happen to a lone wolf that had waited all their days do their mate to show up!" He tried to control his tone because no matter what he was raised to never raise his voice at his mom because it's a taboo.

"Regardless of anything, she can't live with you. You are going to rule the pack to destruction, it has been predicted years back. I need to come and show my face" She added

"Are you saying this because you are just like Jessica?, So good at cheating on your husband even the dead cuss at..."

Before, he could finish his statement. His mother slap him out to keep her dead husband off his mouth.

"leave now! i will come to the palace tomorrow, then we can talk better" She said.

"I hate you" He walked out of her house and his mom collapse on the chair in dismay.

There is something they had hide from him all this years and it is pointless keeping it a secret since he is an adult but regardless of anything he can't be with his Mate or war will be so deadly during the full moon as Alphas will fight for this one Alpha Female that was destined for him.

She don't know why the moon goddess has chosen a more dangerous path like that for her son.

"is everything okay? " Gary voice interrupted her thought.

"He wouldn't listen" She cried.

Gary is one of the best bodyguard in the pack and the queen mother chooses him because if his honesty, calmness and he respects her more than anything. The queen mother is ten years age Gap with Gary but it doesn't look like they both cared after all, age is just a number.

"Everything will be fine" Gary console her and pulled her into a warm hug patting her back.

Vincent just stand there wondering if it is appropriate to tell Laura his mother is having an affair with a guard and isn't even approving their relationship.

"I had too much and overthinked, it is one bad habit I have" He lied even though he immediately regrets it just by staring at her beautiful face.

"What happened at your mom's place" She asked, looking so innocent than ever even Vincent couldn't resist it.

"Have you eaten?" he asked, changing the topic.

"I'm hungry, I had my bathe already" She replied, trying not to push him understanding the fact something is actually hurting him.

"let eat together for the first time" He offered.

"Really?" She asked, happily.

"Yeah, promise me one thing."

"What's that?" She asked.

"No matter what happens, you won't leave me. I mean it this time or I will be forced to mark you and then you won't be able to resist me."

"Are you threatening me or making a promise" She asked.

"Laura!" He called.

"Fine, I will but you have to promise to keep that woman name from your mouth" She replied.

"Make me" He teased her.

"Vinc..." He gives her a quick peck on the lips to shut her up.

"I'm starving" She replied, with a smile.

They both walk hand in hands as they both walk to the dinning table made for the royal. Their relationship seems to be the talk of the whole palace already and the matter reach forth to Brenda table which made her more angry.

"This is getting serious!" She stomps out of her room and stride straight to her brother's room to question him.
