Chapter 97: Chapter 97

Shantel frowned immediately she saw Amy. She had tried to open the door with the key she had, but it wouldn't open. It dawned on her that Cole had changed the locks of the door. She had stepped back with a huff until she heard the door open and saw Amy standing at the door.

"Who is it?" Kayla asked as she widened the door. She narrowed her eyes when she saw Shantel. "You," she hissed.

Shantel snickered. "So, Cole now lets lowlifes into his house,"

"Who are you calling a lowlife?" Kayla asked, walking over to her, but Amy stopped her from taking a step further.

"Do you think because you have bagged an alpha that you would now be considered a Luna?" Shantel asked Kayla as she crossed her arms on her chest.

"At least I bagged an alpha. But, what about you? You're going around desperately trying to loop your fingers around a man who is not yours. A man who doesn't want you. What does that make you, Shantel Jackson?" Kayla lashed out at her and then she smiled. "I'll answer the question for you. It makes you a fucking desperado," she added.

Shantel clenched her jaw. She forced a smile. "I'm not here to banter words with you. I'm here to see Cole,"

"What for?" Amy finally spoke.

She let out a dry laugh. "Can an old acquaintance not meet up her lover once more?" She asked.

"I'm glad you said an old acquaintance. I don't think you have any business here. Besides, if you really want to meet Cole, you would have called him on the phone," Amy said and immediately realized what she had said. She was giving this woman the right to call her mate, even though she didn't want to see Shantel's call on Cole's phone.

"I'm here to congratulate him in person," Shantel replied.

"You can congratulate her and get out. After all, Cole isn't getting married to himself. He's getting married to her," Kayla said, giving Shantel the death stare.

"It is Cole I'm acquainted to, not her,"

"Then, wherever you see Cole, congratulate him and please, do not come back here again. Your presence sickens me," Amy replied.

Shantel was taken aback by Amy's harsh tone. She laughed dryly. "What can I say? You both are the same. Trying your best to become what you're not. I wonder if you also didn't snatch your husband from someone just like Amy snatched Cole from me," she said to Kayla.

Amy laughed sarcastically. "It will displease you to know that my friend's husband has been hers from the beginning, just like Cole had been mine. You were the one ruining the perfect picture we had,"

"Now, if you would excuse us, we have better things to do thsn listen to you spew thrash from that guttered mouth of yours," Kayla said, walking down the stairs.

"Do take your leave, Shantel. Cole isn't home. I'll ensure to drop your message when he comes back," Amy added as she walked down the stairs too.

She signaled to the sentinel at the other side of the house. He walked up to her. "Yes, Luna?" He said which riled up Shantel. This was supposed to be her position, not Amy's!

"Please ensure that Shantel here leaves the estate and inform the sentinels at the gate never to allow her in again," Amy said to him.

He nodded and went over to Shantel. "This way, miss,"

"Don't fucking touch me," Shantel said in anger as the sentinel reached to hold her and lead her out. She turned to Amy. "This isn't over," she added and walked away to where she had her car parked.

Amy watched her leave.

"Come on, let's go. Do not let the silly bitch ruin your mood," Kayla said to her as she tugged her arm.

"She sure has a knack for showing up where she's least expected," Amy replied.

"Just have Cole place a restraining order and everything will be fine. Alright?" Kayla suggested and Amy nodded.

They walked over to the car, got in and the chauffeur drove them out of the estate.

~~~~~
"Aarghh!" Shantel groaned in frustration as she threw her bag over the wall and flipped the table in anger.
Maya rushed down the stairs when she heard the shattering of glass. "What in the moon goddess name is going on here?" She asked in fright as she saw the shattered bits of the table. "Shantel what has come over you?!" She reiterated in dismay.
Shantel fumed in anger. "Is it not that lowlife bitch?! And that wacko friend of hers! They had the effrontery to insult me today," she raved.
"Is that why you broke the table?" Maya asked, slapping her forehead.
Shantel glared at her. "I said I was insulted, Maya. Isn't that enough reason to do so or even bring down the roof?" She demanded.
Maya exhaled in exhaustion. "What happened? Did you see Cole?" She asked.
"I did not. I drove straight home. I could not possibly see Cole in my angry state," she paced back and forth.
"You need to calm down, Shantel. Getting worked up this way won't do you any good," Maya said.
"I just need a few minutes to catch my breath. By tomorrow, I'll definitely go see Cole in his office," she said as she stopped pacing around. "That wedding he's about to have with that lowlife will not take place," she vowed.
~~~~~~

Amy and Kayla finished shopping by evening and Paul's gamma came over to pick Kayla.

"I wish you didn't have to go," Amy pouted in sadness.

Kayla smiled. "Don't you worry, we'll definitely see each other again before Cole gets back. Besides, I need to see my god son. I've missed him very much,"

"That reminds me, I have to speak with him before he goes to bed,"

"Send my warmest greetings to him, okay?" Kayla said with a smile.

"I will," Amy smiled back as she waved at her. Kayla waved back. "Take care," she said and rolled up the window of the car.

Amy watched the car drive away until it was like a speck of dust in the distance. She walked back into the house, loading the various designer bags in the walk-in closet.

She dialled Tris number and called him on video call. Cole had gotten him a phone so they could be able to reach him.

"Hey baby," she said with a smile as he picked up on the first ring. "Getting ready for bed?" She asked.

"No, mommy. Grandpapa is still telling me stories," Tris replied with a grin.

"What stories?" She asked as she walked out of the closet.

"About the pack house and how he met your mother,"

"Oh," she exclaimed softly. Her mother had told her all about Mr Darrel and how they had met in their younger days. "Great. Have you heard from your father?" She asked.

"Yes. He called this afternoon,"

"Alright. I got you some stuffs from the mall today," she replied with a smile.

"Hurray! I can't wait to see them," he said excitedly.

"Say hello to grandpa for me,"

He giggled. "He can hear you,"

"Okay. See you tomorrow. Love you," she said.

"I love you too, mommy," he replied and ended the call.

Amy chuckled as she walked into the bathroom.

~~~~
Cole groaned as he flipped through the files in front of him. Greg walked in with more documents from his assistant. "Tina asked you to go through these ones for the presentation tomorrow,"
He leaned back in his chair in exhaustion. "Keep them. I'll go over it tomorrow,"
"Okay," Greg replied as he dropped the documents on the desk. He was about to leave but then he stopped. "That reminds me, alpha. Transactions have been going off on your account from mid day to evening. About a million has been spent,"
"Which of the account?" He asked, rubbing his forehead in circular motion. He was exhausted.
"The one with the Citi Bank, I was about to inform Liam to track..."
"Let it be. My wife's the one making those transactions,"
"Okay, alpha," Greg replied and left the room.
Cole picked up his phone and called Amy. Amy was just stepping out of the bathroom when she saw Cole's call. She picked up. It was a video call. She smiled and did a little wave. "Hey love,"
"Having fun?" He asked her with a weary smile.
"I did earlier today. Kayla came around and we went shopping,"
"That sounds amazing,"
"You look worn out and you've only been gone for a day," she said, sitting on the bed.
"Yeah. Didn't expect it to be this tiring. What did you do today?"
"Aside from shopping, nothing else,"
"Show me what you bought, baby girl, " he said, trying to get his mind off work.
Amy grinned as she walked over to the walk-in closet. She began to show Cole all that she bought as Cole commented and spoke on how he would get her out of all the dresses. Dhe pondered on telling him that Shantel came around.
"Babe?" She said, finally ready to tell him as she hung a dress back.
"Yeah?" He responded.
"Shantel came around today," she said and everywhere fell silent immediately.
