Chapter 91: Chapter 91

"Get the press ready," Cole said to Greg over the phone as he drove on a high speed with Amy beside him.

Amy swallowed, having a feeling that she was not going to like this one bit. He ended the call and turned to Amy. "Call Kayla to bring Tris over to my office,"

"What are you doing, Cole? Is this the best way?" She asked him worriedly.

He covered her hand with his, reassuringly. "Trust me,"

She took a deep breath and she nodded. Taking his phone from him, she dialled Kayla's number.

"Hello, Kayla. It's me, Amy," Amy said as soon as Kayla picked.

~~~~~~~
"What's happening?" Kayla wondered out loud as the call with Amy disconnected. She knew she would only find out if she did as she was told. "It's just two days to my wedding and I'm already losing it," she sighed as she walked out of the house. She stopped a taxi and getting in, she gave the driver the address of Grandma's house. She needed to pick Tris.
~~~~~~

Cole pulled to a stop in the parking lot of his company. Amy repeatedly took deep breaths and he held her hand and placed a kiss on it. Reminding her that he was there every step of the way.

She nodded with a weary smile. He got out of the car and opening the door for her, she stepped out. He held her hand and as they walked towards the company's entrance, they were immediately swarmed by reporters.

Amy immediately backed away from the lights of the reporter's cameras and Cole shielded her. This wasn't exactly what he wanted. He wanted a press conference and here they were already bombarding him with questions.

"Alpha Cole, is the rumors flying around true?"

"Is Miss Amy really your long time mistress?"

"How long have you been cheating on Miss Jackson?"

They bombarded him, trying to crowd him and Amy, but the sentinels, his guards came in the nick of time. They ensured that the reporters didn't come any closer to them.

Holding Amy tight and still shielding her, he turned to the reporters. "Why don't you come to the conference room and find out," he said.

With that, he walked into the company and Greg walked up to him. "Everything's ready," Greg said.

Cole nodded. "Make sure my son gets in here untouched by those hounds of reporters,"

"Yes, alpha, " Greg replied and walked away.

Cole turned to Amy as he held her shoulders. "Are you alright?" He asked worriedly.

She nodded with a little smile. "I'm fine," she replied. She was too stressed out to say anything more.

"We'll wait in my office for Tris," he added and she nodded. Still holding her hand, he led her to the elevator.

Greg walked into Cole's office and saw Amy seated beside Cole, her head on his shoulder. "Everyone is here already, Cole. I think you would have to begin without your son first. I'll bring him in as soon as he arrives,"

Amy raised her head from his shoulder and he turned to her. "Should we?" He asked.

She nodded. "I don't think it will be fair to keep them waiting, since we called them here,"

He took her hand in his and they both stood up. "Let's go then," he said, leading her towards the door.

They got to the conference hall and the press were seated already. As soon as Cole and Amy walked through the hall, hand in hand, they began to take pictures. Greg led Amy to seat on the podium while Cole stood to address the press.

"Is this live?" He asked.

"Yes," they chorused.

"With the unfortunate turns of events, I am forced to bring my personal life to the public not to defend myself, but for clarity," Cole began and while some reporters wrote down his words, some kept taking pictures. Amy sat with her hands folded on her thighs.

He continued. "There are some false allegations that my ex girlfriend, Shantel Jackson has been spreading lately. Firstly, I need to debunk the news that we were ever engaged. We're not engaged and neither is she my mate. My mate is the woman sitting right over there," he said, looking in the direction of Amy and she became nervous the more as the reporters focused on her and took pictures.

Amy swallowed and brushing aside the anxiety, she stood up and walked over to Cole and he placed his hand on her waist in affirmation. She smiled at him, knowing he had everything under control.

Kayla arrived at Darrel's Corp with Tris. She walked towards the entrance and Greg walked towards them. He had left the conference room immediately he guided Amy to her seat to wait for Tris outside.

"Tris?" He asked Tris even though he could see the resemblance with Cole.

"Yes, who's asking?" Kayla replied.

"Greg, alpha Cole's beta. He's waiting for you,"

"Is this dad's company?" Tris asked and Greg nodded with a smile. "Cool,"

"Shall we?" Greg asked and Kayla held Tris hand again as they followed Greg into the company.

"My mate, Amy Scott has been my mate since seven years ago. Due to some incidence I would rather not discuss, we lost touch. After all those years we met again and as y'all know, that was the same time I returned from my studies in New York, and," Cole explained.

Just then the conference door opened and they all looked to see Kayla walking in with Tris and Greg was behind them.

"Daddy!" Tris exclaimed excitedly, letting go of Kayla's hand and running over to Cole with the reporters taking pictures.

With a big smile on his face, Cole spread his arms to embrace his son. Cole lifted him up as soon as they hugged. And this was a moment to be captured forever. Tris didn't seem to mind the lights. Amy ruffled his hair and he kissed her cheek as she smiled at him.

"And here is the product of I and Amy's love," Cole said.

" Awww, " the press chorused sweetly.

It finally dawned on Kayla what was happening. Cole was making them go public! She grinned. That would put that Shantel in her place, she thought.

~~~~~
"You sure know how to make everything go your way," Mara, Shantel friend said with a smile as their glasses clicked.
Shantel chuckled. "Let's see how Cole would escape from this one,"
Mara turned on the E news as she laughed. Her smile immediately wiped off. "Is that Cole? On live television?"
It immediately caught Shantel's attention.
"Is that.. Amy and his son?" Mara asked.
"Turn the volume up," Shantel replied, not interested in her champagne again and Mara did so. "What are you up to, Cole?" She muttered.
Liam sat in his office, also watching the live.
"Every rumor of defamation on my mate would not be tolerated anymore. Whatever was said about her was false. It's the opposite. I chased Amy. I did the chasing and not the other way around. So, every accusation should be channelled to me and not her. Any more attempt to defame her, I'll show y'all why I am the alpha of the Dark Moon pack," Cole warned which instilled fear in the reporters.
He had Tris dropped down and Tris held Amy's hand.
One reporter raised her hand and Cole nodded. "We have some few questions,"
Amy turned to Kayla and gave her an eye movement to take Tris outside. Their questions will probably be ugly and she didn't want her son to hear it.
Kayla got the hint and taking Tris hand, she led him out of the conference room, promising him that his parents would join him soon.
"A question at a time," Cole replied.
"If you did meet Amy seven years ago, weren't you and Shantel together then?" She asked.
Amy looked at Cole wondering what he would say.
"No. Shantel and I broke up before I met Amy," he replied which wasn't a lie. He had broken up her to leave for New York, only to be pulled back.
"Then why is she saying you both are together?" Another asked.
"Because she can't accept the fact that we're done,"
"There are images currently circulating that shows you guys are together,"
"We were forced to be with each other due to some incidence then. After all, didn't Shantel say she was single until she saw pictures of me and Amy?" Cole asked.
"Was that incident what forced you to lose touch with your mate?"
"Yes, but not anymore," Cole answered.
"Does your father know about your affair with an omega? Is he in support?"
"He .. " Cole was about to respond when he was interrupted.
"Of course he is," Mr Darrel cut in as he walked into the hall. "I'm in full support of my son's decisions," he said, smiling at Cole and Amy.
They both broke into smiles as they turned to each other.
"I told you I would handle it," Cole said placing his hand on her waist.
Her eyes cringle in smiles.
"Now, with this over, we have a wedding to attend," he added with smiles as he leaned closer and placed a soft kiss on her lips to the clicking of cameras from the reporters.
"Aarghh!" Shantel yelled in raged as she threw the bottle of champagne on the TV screen. "This is far from over, Cole Darrel. You're mine and mine alone," she said obsessively.
