Chapter 34: Chapter 34

Amy could stared at him in sheer appall.

The room went cold immediately and for seconds, they stared at each other.

He... He knew?

How...

How did he know about his son? What was she saying? Her son! He didn't bloody know her name, but he knew Tris? She couldn't believe this!

"Wha... What child are you talking about?" She stammered, trying to keep her act together.

"What?" Cole narrowed his eyes at her.

She had to feigning innocence since he didn't have any evidence.

"Wh... whose son? You... You must be mistaken-"

"Don't go that route, woman. Don't even try to play pretend with me!" Cole cut in, trying not to blow the lid over.

"What pretence? I said there's no son of yours in this house! Did you give me a son to keep for you? Was it the mistake of seven years ago that would've magically given you a son? Please leave my house-"

"Please. You and I both know that it wasn't magic. It happened, and you conceived a baby-"

"I said, there's no fucking child here!! No child of yours is here! Get the fuck out of my house, before I do something we both are going to regret-" Amy began to raise her voice.

"Mummy, what's going on? Who are you talking to?" Tris said, standing behind her.

Shit.

She took a sharp turn to face her son and tried her best to hide Cole behind her.

She'd been knee-deep in her emotions that she forgot to keep her tone down and her language modest, so as not to attract her son.

"Me, I'm... I'm not really doing anything, baby. I'm... I'm just talking to myself. I'm rehearsing for a play... Yes, that's what I'm doing! I'm rehearsing for a play!" She lied in the most stupid way anyone would not ever lie in.

"But who's that behind you?" He asked, his eyes on the person she was hiding. He could see the long legs of the person behind her.

"Oh, he?! He's... He's a nobody. He doesn't matter at all. Just like that he doesn't exist. Besides, he was just about to leave-"

"Is that Mr. Stranger?" Tris asked as he stuck his head in the open area between his mother and the door.

"What?"

"It's... It's Mr. Stranger!!" He yelled in happiness. Amy watched as her son's eyes lit up with with excitement, his arms hanging in the air. He immediately dashed out of the house before Amy could hold him and ran to Cole, his hands wide open to give him a hug.

But before he could reach Cole - who also gad his hands out to take him in - Amy immediately dragged him to herself and picked him up.

"What are you doing?! Who do you know him has, that you're running to him with open arms?!!" She yelled at her son.

"But, he's Mr. Stranger," Tris protested.

"What Mr. Stranger are you talking about?"

"He was the person who gave me that large amount of money to take home. He was the one who beat up those boys for me. He was the one who snuck me out of the zoo to have fun at the park. He was the same person who took me to have lunch and a haircut two days ago," Tris explained to his mother.

Amy could not believe what she was hearing.

This couldn't be possible.

No, she had to be dreaming.

So all this while, the person who had been attempting to give her a heart attack was him? A man she herself didn't know?

Wait...

This stranger had been in contact with her son all this while?

Amy took a glance at Cole.

He wasn't even denying it at all. The smug smile on his face with his hands in his pocket told her he was enjoying this.

She was about to open her mouth to say something when the door to get room got opened.

"What's going on? I've been hearing commotions and yelling. What's the problem?" She heard Kayla ask she walked out of the room.

Kayla should joined them with her hands on her waist.

"Who's our guest, Amy..."

She took a glance at him, but immediately shot him a doubletake.

"This can't be...," Kayla muttered, shock written all over her eyes as she stared at Cole.

He also had a similar but more uncomfortable look on his face.

"It's... It's you!!" Kayla pointed at him.

"Wh... What are you doing here?" Cole muttered the question with a look of shock on his face.

"What I'm doing here? I should be asking you that!! I should be asking you what you're doing here, in my own house!!!" She screamed and charged at him without thinking.

She ran at him and before he could brace for impact, she speared him to the wall and to the ground.

"What are you doing here?! Why are you in my house?! Why are you anywhere near me?! You pretty-faced devil!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs as she sat on Cole and began pounding him with all the strength she could muster.

Cole on the other hand, dared not lay a finger on her, even though she was the one attacking him. The pack had a very strong rule against hitting women, and he would suffer a lifetime punishment if he did.

Still, he couldn't suffer like this! She was doing too much!

"Get off me, woman!! Get away from me!!" Cole yelled as he pushed her away and tried to get up to his feet immediately.

Amy was too shocked to understand what was going on? Why was Kayla charging at him with such hate in and anger in her system?

She just held Tris in her arms and watched as the drama unfolded.

Cole had barely stood up from the ground and dusted himself when he felt a fresh and even more powerful force pull and pin him to the ground.

"The nerves to come to my house and stand before me!! Who the hell gave you the address to this place?!! Who the fuck do you think you are to walk into this house like it's yours?!!" She kept screaming at the top of her lungs as she swung at him several times.

All of a sudden, a young guy barged into their house and a look of shock was registered on his face at the sight of the drama happening between Kayla and Cole.

"Get off him! Get off him now!!" He rushed towards the crime scene to rescue his best friend from the claw of this mad woman.
