Chapter 35: Chapter 35

"You can't keep being a coward, Liam. You need to man up and ask this girl out on a date. It's not like she's going to beat you up or anything," Cole advised Liam as he drove the car to a halt.

"You sound just like my wolf. And you both think it's easy to do," Liam muttered as he turned off the ignition.

"Because we cannot help but think that it is. Are you not the same Liam I know? The Liam that could rizz three different ladies at the club, and manage to have them comply and let you take them back to your mansion at once? Are you not the same guy who broke the hardest girls back in highschool? Do you want me to go on? Are you not the same guy who managed to have your way with that popular popstar - what's her name?"

"Okay, that's enough. I get it. Thanks for calling me a pimp," Liam rolled his eyes, and Cole cracked up in laughter.

"While that is quite true...," Cole managed to get himself together, "... That's not the point of the matter. What I'm trying to point out is that, you've been able to have your way different women of your choice. What's stopping you from talking to this one?"

"This one is a lot different from the previous situations, Cole. You need to understand - this is not about a one night stand or just for fun. It's much more easier to pull that off. This is a girl I really like. I can't get her of my goddamn mind. I don't want to just have fun with her. If anything should happen between us, I want it to be something real and of value. Something more of passion than fun," Liam explained and Cole sighed.

"Besides, she's not someone who's moved by material things. She doesn't care about my money. Although that makes me love her even more, it makes it much more harder to talk to her. In the past, I could just throw some money around, and boom! Girls are flocking around me! This is different, Cole"

Silence ensued between them when Cole realized how head over heels in love his friend was with this mystery girl.

"If you really like this girl this much, then you need to talk to her. I've never seen you be this crazy over a woman,"

"I know," Liam sighed.

"Promise me this - that you'll talk to her when next you see her. Ask her out on a date tomorrow. Or tonight, even," Cole urged.

"That's too much pressure," Liam groaned.

"Come on, you can do it. Just promise me," Cole said.

Liam sighed. "Fine, I promise. Now, get out of this car and go fight for your son, while I look for somewhere to park," Liam ordered and Cole saluted as he opened the door and got out.

He was long done parking the car fifteen minutes ago, but the words Cole told him was still ringing in his mind.

He was right. No girl had ever made him feel this way. He needed to talk to Amy as soon as possible.

He sighed and finally got out of the car.

He looked around the modest neighborhood before finding his way to the doorstep of Cole's one night stand.

He was about to knock when he began to hear commotions from inside. People were screaming and shouting, and he could hear Cole's voice in the mix.

Out of anxiety, he opened the door without even knocking and stormed into the house.

His eyes met the sight of a familiar lady holding a familiar boy, but that wasn't what made his jaw drop to the ground. It was the sight of a mad woman sitting on his best friend, and pounding him with her hands.

"Get off him!! Get off him now!!" He yelled as he rushed to help his friend.

She pushed her to the ground, and Cole found the opportunity to get up immediately.

"You were the one who ruined the past few weeks for me!!" Kayla yelled as she got up and faced Cole again.

"You know him?" Amy asked, still confused.

"He was the guy who barged into me twice in one day - that same day we got employed! He's a spoilt prick who needs to be beaten up-"

"And that's enough to attack him?! Because he ruined your day?!! I need to call the cops," Liam muttered as he whipped out his phone and dialed 111.

"Mr. Liam, is that you?"

He turned to the lady holding the child, and upon recognizing her, his anger vanished immediately. He took another glance at the woman who was atop Cole when he walked in. It was Kayla, the woman he employed as his receptionist.

He turned to the lady to called his name.

"Amy?"

"Is that her name?" Cole rolled his eyes as he dusted himself.

"What are you doing here?" Amy asked.

"I came to support my friend. He just found out that his one night stand had his child, and he came to confront the woman," Liam explained

"Do you both know each other?" Cole and Kayla questioned in unison.

"Yes. She's the girl I told you about, Cole. The woman who helped me get my grades up in highschool. The one I just employed? The one you just asked me to talk to in the car? You don't still remember her-"

"She's the one night stand, Liam. My one night stand. She the one who had my baby,"

Cole and Liam stared at each in silence at the realization.

Liam began to connect the dots together.

It wasn't a coincidence that Cole snuck Tris out of the zoo on the same day Amy's child got missing.

It wasn't a coincidence that Cole's son's name was Tris, and Amy's son was Tristan - short for Tris.

Liam couldn't believe this. It felt like he was in a simulation. How was all this possible? Why didn't he figure this out all this while?!

"I'm going to deal with you later," Cole pointed at Kayla, "I came here for you, Amy or whatever you name is. You know what, scratch that. I came here for my son,"

"You have no evidence that this your son, so don't call him your son, until you've proven it-" Amy replied through gritted teeth.

Amy's mouth shut with a document Cole whipped out his back pocket.

"You think I'd be stupid enough to make a fool of myself by coming here without making sure of my findings? Apart from the uncanny resemblance between me and that boy, this is a DNA test I took yesterday. Proving that he's my son," Cole said, narrowing his eyes at her.

Amy snatched it from his hand and read the file in it.

The sadness in her eyes told everyone that the document was saying the truth.

"How did you get this? How did you get my son to do this?"

"That's not important-"

"I got close to him. I tried to be his friend. I took him to parks and restaurants to make him love me and get him comfortable around me. Then at the right moment, I took him to the barbing salon to have a haircut. The strands of hair was what I used for the DNA test," he explained with triumph in his voice and gestures.

"How... How could you do this?"

"I don't care what you think about me, Amy. What I want is to get my son to myself-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Kayla pranced towards him. She snatched the document from Amy's hands and tore them into several pieces. She immediately faced Cole and threw everything at his face.

"The last you're going to do, is to come here and claim this boy because of some stupid DNA test. A boy you didn't even know about until recently? The same child she's singlehandedly trained without your help or consent? That's not going to happen, especially not after you called my friend your one night stand, like she's a prostitute. I will not tolerate this nonsense in my house! Never!"

She turned to Liam.

"Mr. Liam, I would appreciate if you took your friend out of my house immediately," she warned.

Liam sighed.

"Let's go home, Cole," he began to pull him away.

Cole tried to say something to defend himself, but she'd just spat the bitter truth to his face.

"I... I'm not done! This is not over! I'm coming back!" He kept hollering awkwardly as Liam pulled him out of the house.

Immediately they shut the door, Amy dropped her son and ran into her room, shutting herself in it and immediately breaking down in tears.
