Chapter 113: Chapter 113
Amy stretched out lazily the next morning, and she opened her eyes, she saw Cole staring at her beautifully.
“Morning, love,” he said as he twisted his fingers in her hair.
She managed a smile. “Good morning,” she replied.
“Are you feeling okay?” He asked her.
“Yeah, I’m better,” she responded.
“That’s good to hear,” he said as he touched her face gingerly.
“Is Tris up?” She asked as she got up to a sitting position.
“I don’t think so. He hasn’t come here,”
“I’ll check on him,” Amy replied as she pulled away from him.
He held her back.
She looked at him. “What?” She inquired nervously.
“Are you still angry at me for lying to you?” He asked, looking right into her eyes.
She chuckled as she fell back on the bed, his face hovering over hers. “I momentarily forgot and now you’ve reminded me,”
He touched her face. “I’m sorry,” he apologized sincerely.
She placed her hand on his face. “Saving me is enough for me to forgive you, Cole. As long as you don’t lie to me again,”
He nodded. “I cross my heart,” he replied and she smiled as he placed his lips on hers wrapping them in his warmth.

Kathy arrived at Cole’s mansion, and she was greeted warmly by Nicole who opened the door.
“Is my daughter in?” She asked anxiously.
“Yes, please. Do come in,” Nicole replied as she moved aside for her.
Kathy sighed in relief as she walked into the house. Just then, Amy walked down the stairs and she was astonished to see her mother.
“Mom, what are you doing here?” She asked, surprised.
Kathy rushed over to her. “Geez, child. You had me worried sick,” she said as she hugged her.
“Why?” Amy asked.
Kathy pulled away. “I saw on the news that you got kidnapped by Shantel. Cole arrested her for it,”
“Oh,” realization dawned on Amy. “Yeah, I was, but it wasn’t Shantel. It was Jeremy,” she replied.
Kathy gasped in shock and Amy nodded as she walked over to the sofa and Kathy followed too.
“He’s dead now though. The news must have traveled wide by now,” Amy said as she sat down.
“I haven’t heard anything,” Kathy replied as she sat beside her. “But, are you okay? Did he touch you?” She asked, looking over her body as she held her shoulders.
Amy shook her head. “He almost did, but Cole came in the nick of time,”
Kathy sighed in relief. “Thank the moon goddess. Where’s my grandson?” She asked.
“With his father upstairs,” she replied and then smiled. “You’re about to be a grandmother again,” she said and Kathy gasped in pleasant surprise.
“No way,”
Amy laughed. “Yes,”
Kathy hugged her. “I’m so happy for you,”
“Thank you mom,”
They pulled away. “I pray the moon goddess grant you, Cole and Tris happiness. Mostly you, Amy, you deserve it,” Kathy said, smiling as she touched her cheek and Amy smiled back.

Cole walked into the bedroom to see Amy getting dressed up. “What’s the occasion?” He asked her.
She looked at him in surprise. “Oh, you’re done with Tris?” She asked.
“Yeah. He’s with your mom,” he replied. “Where are you going?” He reiterated.
“Oh, yeah. Tris is resuming school tomorrow. I want to ensure he has everything he needs,” she explained.
“Give the list to Nicole,” he replied as he unbuttoned his shirt.
She shook her head. “I want to do it myself,”
He walked closer to her. “Babe, you need rest. You’ve had two rough days and now you’re expecting our baby. You need all the maximum rest you can get, okay?” He tried to make her see reasons with him.
“But, Cole,” she insisted.
He placed his hand at the back of her neck and placed her head on his chest. “No buts, love,” he replied and she sighed on his chest.
Since he heard she was pregnant, he had become very protective. He wanted to make up for all those times he lost with Tris, with this unborn baby. He wanted to whisper to him, talk to him and tell him he would always be by his side every step of the way.

Amy did as Cole wanted and gave the list of Tris school things to Nicole. While she was away, Amy decided to prepare lunch.
As she prepared the macaroni and cheese, Cole snuck up behind her and hugged her.
She chuckled. “You seem so gay today,”
“No, I’m just enjoying the presence of my wife,” he replied as he kissed her neck.
She chuckled. “Is my mom gone?” She asked.
“Yes, love,” he replied as he peeked into what she was doing. “Do you need help?”
“No. I want to do this myself,” she said, laughing.
He kissed her cheek. “Alright, ma’am,” he said as he placed his hand on her stomach.
“What?” She asked amidst her laughs.
“Checking for movements,” he replied with a smile.
“I’m just three weeks gone, Cole,”
“But, there’s a sign of a life in there, right?” He was curious.
“Yes,”
“Amazing,” he replied enthusiastically and she chuckled.
The doorbell rang, distracting both of them. “We seem to be having visitors lately, Hm?” He said as he let go of her.
“Maybe mom forgot something,” Amy replied. Cole called one of the sentinel outside.
“Who’s at the door?” He asked, and as soon as the sentinel told him, he sighed. “Oh, let her in,” he added and ended the call.
“Who?” Amy asked with a raised brow.
“Your best friend,” Cole responded.
Amy’s eyes lit at the mention of Kayla. “I’ll go see her right now,” she said.
“Okayyyyy, I’ll watch lunch,”
“Thank you,” she said excitedly as she kissed his cheek and dashed out of the kitchen.
She met Kayla in the living room. They both grinned as they saw each other. “Bestie, I’ve missed you so much,” Amy said as they hugged.
“Me too, girl,” Kayla replied and they pulled apart. “Are you okay?” She asked.
Amy nodded with a smile. “Very much okay,” she said and continued. “Come, you’re in for a treat. I’m making my infamous Mac and cheese,” she said.
Kayla giggled. “I can smell it over here,” she replied as they walked into the kitchen.
Kayla saw Cole and grinned in surprise. “What’s a mighty alpha doing in the kitchen?” She asked.
Cole grinned back. “She forced me here,”
Amy raised her brows in shock. “What?! You wanted to,”
He grinned devilishly as he hurriedly kiss her cheek. “Bye. Tris needs me,” he replied and rushed out of the kitchen.
She stared after him. “The big bag of…”
“Cuteness?” Kayla asked, laughing.
Amy shrugged.
“Well, I guess he doesn’t want anyone to find out he helps his wife in the kitchen. What will it make him look like in the eyes of his enemies?” Kayla chuckled.
“Yeah, whatever,” Amy replied as she went back to grating cheese.
“Girlfriend, did you know Shantel’s arrest is all over the news?” Kayla asked.
“Nah,” Amy responded.
“Cole had thought she was responsible for your disappearance and had locked her up. It’s shocking how it got wind up on the news. Perhaps the media was there,”
“Cole has her released now,” Amy replied.
“I hope the arrest teaches her a lesson, so she can stay away from you all,”
“I sure hope so too, Kayla,”
“Anyways, enough of Shantel Jackson. Congratulations on your baby once again,” Kayla said with a smile.
“Aww, thank you, bestie,” Amy replied.
“I can’t wait to have mine too,” Kayla replied sulkily.
Amy turned to her, dropping what she was doing, she walked towards her and held her. “I believe soon, you’ll have yours. Twins for that matter. It will be a double celebration and I’m going to hold them in my arms just like you did with Tris,” she replied, smiling warmly.
Kayla’s eyes watered. “Aww, best best, that was so sweet. I pray the moon goddess grants this prayer of yours for me,”
“She will,” Amy assured her with a smile as she squeezed her hands.

Shantel watched the news of her being arrested over and over again, seething in rage. This time around, she did nothing and yet Cole had made a mockery of her name. He has succeeded in ruining her face in the public without coming to tell the public that he had accused her falsely.
“What’s the plan now?” Mira asked her.
“We strike,” she responded as she stared hard at the TV.
