Chapter 109: Chapter 109

Cole closed his laptop as he exhaled deeply. He swung his wrist to check the time and saw that he still had enough time to get to Amy.

He took his jacket off the back of his seat and wore it. Greg walked in. “Ready?” He asked.

“Yeah. I’ll be picking Amy. You should head on first without me,” Cole replied.

“Alright. Good night, alpha,” he said and Cole gave him a nod.

“Good night,” he replied and watched Greg walk out of the office.

Cole got into his car and the driver drove him towards the direction of Liam’s Tech. He was faced with traffic, and every now and then, he checked his time. An hour was almost exhausted and he was still caught up in traffic. He called her to inform her of his lateness, but the phone rang and there was no response.

He wondered if she was angry with him. Just then, he felt his heart tightened and it was as if he was suffocating. He could feel Amy calling out to him faintly. He dragged his tie down, so he could breathe well. Was something wrong with Amy? He panicked.

“Zeco, cut the lines,” he said to his driver.

“That would be breaking the traffic rules, alpha,” Zeco replied, reminding him of the implications of what he was about to do.

“Who made the fucking rules? Cut the lines!” He ordered, using his alpha’s voice, and Zeco was forced to comply.

He cut the lines and followed a one way lane.

“Set the speed limit to 220 mph,” Cole reiterated.

Zeco did as he was told, and the car sped off, breaking the rules. The fairies in charge of the traffic went after him, but the car didn’t stop, and the fairies relented as they concluded that they were going to summon him, but two went on with the pursuit. No offender of the law went passed them.

The car finally pulled up at Liam’s Tech and Cole stepped out. He noticed the lights of the building were off.

He swallowed as he looked around as he dialed Amy’s number. It rang and Cole could hear it ring. He traced the call and it led him to the shrubs beside the building . There, was Amy’s phone and her handbag.

Cole’s heart immediately went to his throat as he dropped the call. He went over to the phone, hoping he was hallucinating.

He picked up her phone and her bag and he knew immediately that he wasn’t seeing things. His heart pummeled hard against his chest as the fear of the unknown overwhelmed him.

He quickly dialed Liam’s number. Liam picked at the third ring. “Hello,” his voice was rough, it was as if Cole woke him up.

“Liam, I need you at your office right now,” Cole said. His whole body was tense as he looked around.

“Why?”

“I think Amy’s missing,”

“What?”

That was all it took Liam to get off the bed, put on his shirt and hurried out of the house.

The fairies caught up with Zeco and Cole could hear their arguments. He went back to the car and saw them.

“Alpha Cole,” they acknowledged his presence.

“Good evening fairies,” he greeted, trying to maintain his composure, but he couldn’t. His whole demeanor showed how tense and worried he was.

The fairies were already in their human form.

“Is everything alright?” One of them noticed his tension.

He shook his head. “I know this is about the rules I broke, but this is not the right time,”

“You should get a ticket, only because this is the first time you’re doing such a thing,”

“Okay,” he responded.

“We’ll speak to the others on your behalf for your pardon,”

“I’ll appreciate that,” Cole replied and the fairies went back to their tiny light form and flew away.

Cole paced about as he waited for Liam.

Liam finally pulled up in front of his company. As soon as he stepped out, he rushed over to Cole. “What did you say happened?”

“Amy’s missing. I found her purse and phone behind those shrubs. You need to pull up your security cameras,”

“Follow me,” Liam replied as he rushed over to the door with Cole behind him.

They got up to the security room, and Liam pulled up the security camera footage.

“You don’t have security personnels?” Cole asked him.

“They also get to leave when everyone does, Cole,”

Cole snickered. “Yeah, right,” they went through the footage and just then, Cole saw Amy walking out of the building. “Stop there,” he said and Liam stopped.

The footage showed when Amy was overpowered by a man in a mask as he got her unconscious through a drugged handkerchief.

“Hell,” Cole muttered as he began to blame himself. “I should have been here sooner,”

“I should have stayed with her,” Liam lamented.

Cole heaved as he stared at him, and then back at the screen. “Zoom in on the man,” he said and Liam did so. “Do you know him?” Cole asked him.

“No. I haven’t seen his face around here before,” Liam replied.

Cole placed his hand on his head as he closed his eyes in frustration. How was he going to tell Kayla that Amy just got kidnapped? How was he going to tell her mother and his father? Most of all, how would he explain to Tris that his mother won’t be coming home tonight.

“I know who did this,” he said, dropping his hand as he turned towards the door.

“Who?” Liam asked.

“Shantel, and she will hear from me,” he replied as he walked out the door.

Liam exhaled agitatedly as he looked back at the screen, looking for any possible clues to locate Amy. “Where are you, Amy? Where are you?” He muttered.

Cole called the house on the way to meet Shantel. He told Nicole to ensure that Tris was already in bed, and when Tris asked if his mom, he lied that she was with him and they would be home together, which excited Tris.

Cole exhaled as he ended the call. He pulled up at Shantel’s place and when he got to the door, he banged on it.

“Who the hell is that?!” Shantel demanded in anger at the way her door was being knocked on.

“Open the god-damned door, Shantel!” Cole yelled out.

Shantel was surprised to hear Cole’s voice and she hastily went to the door. “And what brings you here?” She asked with a curious smile as she opened the door, but she was greeted with a cold and demeaning expression.

Cole grabbed her by the neck, as he pushed her to the wall. “Where’s Amy?” He demanded with cold blooded eyes.

Shantel coughed as she tried to break away from his painful stronghold, but she couldn’t. He was raging in anger, having the intent to kill in his eyes.

She tried to slap his hand away, but she couldn’t.

“Answer me!” He raged ferociously.

“I-I-I don’t… know what… you’re … talking about,” she coughed out, as tears filled her eyes.

“Let me… go, please,” she pleaded.

“Not until you tell me where you took Amy to. Who did you send to abduct her?” Cole questioned.

“Please,” Shantel pleaded as she held onto Cole’s hand, she was losing her life.

Just then, Mira, saw him through the ajar door. She screamed as she rushed over to him. “Alpha, please, let her go!” She pleaded.

“Not until she tells me what she has done to my mate!” Cole insisted.

“Please! At this rate you would kill her!”

“Let her die!”

Shantel began to look pale as she slowly closed her eyes.

“Then you won’t get the truth about your mate!” Mira tried to get into his head and she succeeded.

Cole flung Shantel aside and she fell to ground coughing violently.

“I’ll ask one last time. Where is Amy?” He questioned, seething in rage.

She gagged, tears rolling down her eyes, as it was becoming difficult for her to breathe. “I don’t know what the fuck… you’re talking about,”

“Amy got abducted and I know it’s you,”

“Turns out I’m not the only one who hates the bitch,” she replied dryly as she placed her hand on her chest and ran it over her neck, as she still coughed.

“Shantel may be anything, but not so sinister to kidnap someone,” Mira interjected.

“I never asked you,” Cole glared at Mira and she looked away. He turned to Shantel. “I give you till tomorrow morning to provide my mate or I’ll have your head,” he warned.

Mira gasped as she watched him walk away. As soon as he was gone in his car, she helped Shantel up.

“Are you okay?” She asked.

Shantel gagged in short breaths. “The son of a bitch almost killed me,” she said, still holding her chest.

“But, did you really have Amy abducted?” Mira asked.

“I have no idea what he’s saying, but I’ll say, good riddance,” she replied.

Amy whimpered softly. She was blindfolded with an handkerchief and gagged that same way too. Then, someone took off the handkerchief in her mouth. Her mouth ached as she whimpered.

“Who are y’all? Please, don’t kill me,” she pleaded.

She heard the laughter of two men. “Trust me, you have more use than that,”

“What do you want? Who are you?” She asked at once.

“One question at a time, my pretty,” someone different said. His voice was awfully familiar.

“Take off the blindfold,” he said, and the handkerchief was taken off her eyes.

Amy’s eyes were dazed as she could see a figure in front of her. It took her time to adjust to the dimly lit room. Her eyes focused on the man before her and as she saw him clearly, she exclaimed softly in shock. “Jeremy?”

He smirked. He was her high school boyfriend.
