Chapter 104: Chapter 104

Amy had no choice than to return to her mother’s house. Her old house had been on lease as soon as she moved out and it was now occupied by someone else.

She stood in front of her mother’s door dreading the outcome of her decision of coming here.

She took a deep breath as she knocked on the door.

“Who is it?” Her mother’s familiar voice filled her ears.

“It’s me, mum,” she inhaled deeply.

The door quickly opened and Kathy broke into a smile. “Hey, you. It’s been a while. Are you here to drop Tris?” She asked looking at her daughter and Tris.

Amy shook her head. “No, Mum, I..” she began to say, but was cut short by her mother who finally saw the suitcases.

“Amy, why is your luggage here?” She asked narrowing her eyes.

Amy sighed as she stared at her mother. “Can we at least come inside before you start questioning me?” She asked.

With a worried frown on her face, Kathy moved aside from the door and Amy and Tris walked in. Amy trotted the suitcases behind her.

Kathy closed the door and walked over to Tris. “Hey, baby. There are cookies and milk in the fridge. Would you like to have some?” She asked him.

“Sure, grandma. I didn’t get to have my breakfast anyway,” Tris shrugged.

Amy sighed. “I’m sorry,” she apologized to him.

He gave a sad smile. “It’s okay,”

“Come on, you know the way to the kitchen. Go get yourself some,” Kathy said to him and he nodded and walked towards the kitchen.

As soon as he disappeared in it, Kathy turned to Amy. “You better start talking, young lady,”

Amy shrugged and looked away. “Cole is cheating on me,”

“How’s that possible?” Kathy asked, walking over to the couch. “With whom?” She demanded as she sat down beside Amy.

Amy fidgeted with her fingers. “With his ex girlfriend,”

“Shantel?” Kathy asked in disbelief. “That’s not possible. He publicly denounced her,” she added.

“Well, in private, they were still very much intimate,” Amy replied, staring at her mother in the eyes.

Cole walked into the bedroom, his strength leaving him as the familiar scent of Amy that he had known was still hanging in the air.

He had wanted to go after her, but couldn’t. He knew she wouldn’t budge especially after all she had just told him.

He was still alarmed by the videos accusations. His eyes caught on the shiny titanium back of her phone on the bed and he walked over and picked it up.

Swiping the phone up, it opened, for Amy never hid anything from him.

Instantly, his eyes fell on the videos and pictures Shantel had sent. He was dumbfounded. He couldn’t believe his eyes. There was no possible way he could have had the agility to be this intimate with Shantel when he couldn’t remember half of the time what he was doing.

“The little bitch. She set me up,” he cursed beneath his breath. He couldn’t remember doing any of the things in the videos or pictures and he was very sure he didn’t do them either.

He reached for his phone in his jacket and dialed Liam’s number. “Hey, we need to talk,” he said into the phone.

“There’s something off here, Amy. Cole cannot just jump into the arms of his ex lover. What if this is all planned? And by her?” Kathy asked her daughter.

“It doesn’t matter to me. He lied to me. He shouldn’t have,” Amy replied, looking away.

“You have to resolve this with him,” Kathy said.

“There’s nothing to resolve,” Amy was adamant. “I’ll be staying here for a while,” she added.

“And what happened to your mate’s house?” Kathy demanded.

Amy frowned at her mother. “I’m not going back there and if you want me to move out, give me till next weekend. I’ll leave,” she stated.

“I’m not going to let you walk away from a prominent relationship over some misunderstanding,”

Amy stared at her mother as anger flickered in her eyes. “Did you just call cheating a misunderstanding, mother? Did my father ever cheat on you?”

“Such frivolities are common amongst the high and mighty, not omegas,”

Amy stood up. “Then, I should just end up with an omega then. My peace of mind will be guaranteed,” she replied, walking away.

Cole arrived at Liam’s house and it dawned on him that over these past few months, he has not been coming to his friend’s house. They had been on edge because of a woman and yet, Cole always finds himself coming back to him for solutions over the same woman.

He walked into the house without ringing the doorbell. Liam was standing at the balcony of the house when Cole walked up to him.

“You sounded very urgent on the phone. What is it?” Liam asked, turning around as he leaned on the rails of the balcony.

Cole pulled out Amy’s phone from his jacket, opened it and handed it over to Liam.

Liam was skeptical as he collected the phone from Cole. He looked through the phone and his eyes mirrored shock as he stared at the content.

Cole inhaled deeply. “She had a plan all along when she asked me to have one last drink with her,” he exhaled sharply as he looked away. “How could I have been so blinded not to see through her?”

“Are you really the one here?” Liam asked him.

Cole gave him dagger eyes. “How could you ask me something like that? Of course not,” he replied, irritably.

“How could I not, Cole? The videos look so real and doesn’t look like photoshopped,”

“I don’t remember a thing, but I didn’t touch her. I was drunk and lost consciousness at a point! There’s no way I could be holding her and letting her ride me like that!” Cole raised his voice in frustration.

“You were drunk, Cole. You might have done that through the influence of the alcohol and didn’t remember,” Liam insisted.

“What the fuck, Liam? Whose side are you on?” Cole questioned.

Liam shrugged. “I’m stating what I’m seeing,”

“I was drunk when I got Shantel pregnant the first time and I knew about it. I had sex with Amy the first time while I was drunk and I remembered that night till date. Why can’t I fucking remember this one if I really did it?” Cole demanded, seeking for some ally in what he was saying.

Liam shrugged. “A different alcohol?”

“What the fuck, Liam?” Cole was losing it. “So, you don’t believe me?” he asked, and he could see doubt flicker in Liam’s eyes.

“Never mind. It was wrong coming here,” Cole added as he took the phone away from Liam, and walked away.

Liam wanted to call him back, but he refrained as he tightened his hand into a fist and gave a small sigh as he looked away.

Cole got into his car and drove out of Liam’s vicinity. He was thinking Liam could help him find out the truth about this all, but in the end, he was going to do it all on his own.

Firstly, he had to think of a way to get his family back.

Just then, his phone rang. It was his father calling. He knew it could only mean one thing and his conscience pricked him.
