Chapter 116: Chapter 116

“Charlotte! “Azraiel bellows from the drawing room.

Charlotte quickly puts the clothes in her hands on the beds and runs downstairs.” I’m coming.”

“Is it awake?” She asks as she looks at Azraiel.

Ever since Azraiel has told her about the white wolf in the woods she has been on edge.

“Not yet.. but it’s starting to. “Azraiel sighs. “The Head Coordinator is here. We are going there. “Azraiel hesitates a bit. “I don’t feel comfortable in taking you there but I also know that it’s important for you to be there.”

Charlotte Smiles.

“But…” Azraiel’s face turns serious. “Don’t do anything that’d put you in danger.”

“Okay!” Charlotte chuckles. “As you say!”

“Let’s go.” She follows him out and they drive to the packhouse in silence.

A black car is already there and Azraiel signals it to move forward. It must be the Head Coordinator. She thinks to herself.

Charlotte bites her lip in worry as she considers the possibility of the white wolf being Richard…. But if it’s not Richard then they have A bigger problem at their hands.

“Hey!” Azraiel turns to her. “Relax. It will be alright. It won’t be able to hurt you.”

Charlotte nods but doesn’t tell him that his words did nothing to ease her worries.

Soon, they are out of the pack borders and into the woods.

“where is it being kept?” She asks out of curiosity. If he is a Trueblood then he can’t be kept in a regular dungeon.

“The old dungeons. They were made after the first wolf became a Trueblood. Even I have spent days there when I was newly given the Trueblood status and had trouble controlling my power.”

“You were afraid of hurting others. “She states rather than ask.

“yeah…” Azraiel nods. “Those dungeons are huge and infused with magic. The cells. Are only a few but they are effective. The chains, gates bars everything’s made of silver and coated with wolfsbane and magic. Now, I know that’s not enough to stop a Trueblood but it definitely weakens them.”

“Okay…” Charlotte nods and then shuts up.

Soon they reach their destination. It is a clearing with no building in sight. Charlotte scrunches her brows in confusion but do not say anything. She gets out of the car and sees the Head coordinator come her way.

“Luna!” He bows his head.

“Sir.” Charlotte greets him.

Azraiel comes out and walks towards a huge tree. Charlotte and Daniel follow him.

He rounds the tree and there it is…a door in the ground. Azraiel opens the huge door by sliding it. “Be Careful.” He says to her and goes in. Charlotte follows him. There are Stairs and the floor beneath the ground doesn’t have any light. The warriors stationed there have lit up the area with fire lamps. A shiver runs down Charlotte’s Spine as she takes Azraiel’s hand and walk down the stairs.

It’s dark and cold. There are around six cellars, all at a distance from each other. They are secured with silver bars all laced with wolfsbane.

As she reaches the basement, Azraiel turns to her. “Don’t go near it, Charlotte. I’ll lose my fucking mind if anything happens to you.”

“Relax.” Charlotte assures him. “I’ll be fine.”

She stays behind so that he wouldn’t worry about her and lets Daniel and Azraiel walk to the cell.

“He’s huge…looks like a Trueblood but I can’t feel the same aura as yours.” Daniel says in confusion when he looks at the wolf.

Curious, Charlotte too walks to the cell.

Charlotte’s mind goes to the day she was bitten. This wolf whimpering in the cell in front of her looks just like Richard’s. But somehow…she knows. She knows this is not him.

The wolf in front of her is not Richard!

She has no idea how but she is sure that he is not Richard.

The wolf groans and she turns around. She is still not used to nudity like these wolves are. The way that wolf is groaning and whimpering, it’s most likely that his wolf is forcing it to shift into human body.

She is proved right when a few seconds later the wolf growls loudly and she hears the breaking of bones.

“There are clothes behind you.” She hears Azraiel say to the wolf.

It’s eerily silent and she can clearly hear the hustling of clothes.

“Wh-where am I?” She turns when she hears his voice.

Oh God!

He looks really young…she thinks to herself.

In front of her is a young boy, lanky in stature. His amber eyes are bloodshot ad flicker from Daniel to Azraiel and to her. He looks scared to death and rightfully so. He is caged in a cold cell and surrounded by dozens of warriors. Also, the deathly stare of Daniel and Azraiel is enough to make him scared for life. There are cuts on his body, though it looks like he is already healing. His brown hair is short and has bits and pieces of grass in it. His whole body is covered in dirt and mud.

“You are in the Rysterbian woods. I am Alpha Azraiel Michaelson on the Blue Orchid pack. We found you unconscious in the woods.” Azraiel speaks in a straight voice.

It looks like he has no idea who Azraiel is!

“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere else?” She has no idea why she asked him that, but for some reason she is worried.

And concerned!

Azraiel and Daniel both turn to her in confusion.

She pays no heed to them and keeps her attention on the young boy.

“I am-I am fine.” He looks at her strangely.

“You are her!” He says while looking straight into her eyes. Charlotte’s lips part when she takes in his words.

“You are the Alpha, aren’t you?” He asks her. “I can feel it.” He says to her.

Fuck!

Charlotte thinks to herself.

Is he one of his pack members? Or the supernaturals that arrived here?

“What’s your name?” Azraiel asks.

“Caleb.” He clears his throat. “Can I get a glass of water, please?” He asks in his croaked voice.

Azraiel looks at a warrior and he unhooks the bottle of water around his waist and drops it inside the cell.

All three of them watch as Caleb gulps down the water hungrily.

Azraiel looks at him with curiosity and wonder. “I have a few questions for you. It’ll be good for you to answer them honestly.” Azraiel says to him.

Caleb snorts. “Doesn’t looks like I have any other choice.” He leans to the wall and says. “Ask away.”

Charlotte looks at him in shock.

What the fuck! Why the hell is he talking like that?

A growl comes from Azraiel and Caleb visibly flinches.

Azraiel takes a threatening step towards him. “I don’t know if you have any idea about the pack hierarchy or not…but it’ll be better for you to not talk to me in that tone.” He says with clenched teeth. “I don’t want to harm you but you’ll have to cooperate in order to not get hurt.”

“Okay.” Caleb says meekly and shifts back, away from Azraiel.

“What were you doing in the woods?” He fires the first question.

“I-I don’t know. I just...I just felt drawn towards it. Most probably because she is here.” He signals towards her.

Azraiel nods.

“Are you part of a pack?” There comes the second question.

“No.” Caleb chuckles. “I had no idea that I was even a wolf just until a year ago.”

“How old are you?” It’s the head coordinator who asks the question this time.

“Seventeen.” He answers sadly.

“So you just followed your instincts and came here?” Daniel asks doubtfully.

“uh..N-Not really!” he scratches his head.

“Then please elaborate!” Daniel says sarcastically.

“I should probably start from the beginning.” Caleb mutters to himself. “I am an orphan. A couple in Sanstonia adopted me when I was five. They loved me like their own…but I was quiet and awkward. The school I went to suggested me to the H.O.P.E. Mission. It’s a programme where-“

“I know what H.O.P.E mission is.” Azraiel says.

“Yeah..so, I was admitted in the H.O.P.E Mission. I was actually happy there. Until last year.” Caleb’s voice turns really sad and Charlotte feels like consoling him.

“Last year, on my birthday, I turned into a wolf. I had no idea that I was a werewolf. I couldn’t control myself. I destroyed the house because my wolf couldn’t control itself. During the destruction I caused, I knocked a lit candle and set the whole house on fire. My parents barely came out alive. They had seen me as a wolf. At first they thought it was a wild animal but amidst all this I couldn’t control my shift and turned into my human self in front of them. After that incident, they became scared of me. They promised to never tell anyone about me and even offered to provide for me until I become self-dependent but I just-I just couldn’t. So I left.”

Charlotte’s throat clogged up upon hearing what went down with this young boy.

“I left them but I had no idea where to go. I was moving to other city to find out more about my birth when I met a guy. I was on road and stopped by a café for some food. A guy came over to me and told me that he knows what I am. He said that he could help me find out more. I-I didn’t trust him but something was better than nothing and I literally had no other way of finding out more about the werewolves.”

Before he could continue, Azraiel stops him and asks the question.

“What was the name of the guy you met in the café?”

Caleb scrunches his brows and gives the name that connects him to Charlotte.

“Richard. His name was Richard.”
