Chapter 45: Chapter 45
The reception was fun. Everyone was congratulating us and my facial muscles were so tired from too much smiling. Jeff was just nodding at everyone.
I didn't expect the reception to be like this. The garden in Jeff's mansion looked so different from the garden I fixed. There were white curtains everywhere. There were also sunflowers in every table. It's wonderful.
I looked at Jeff who was already glaring at me because I am holding a wine glass. I frowned at him, "It's our wedding reception. And besides, it's only one glass and I'm even with you."
He leaned to my ear. "The last time you were drunk with two glasses." He reminded me with conviction like he's scolding me.
I rolled my eyes and drank the whole glass. "Nothing will
happen tonight," I assured him. He smirked. "Oh, I wish there will be," he retorted before drinking all the wine. I glared at him and he just shrugged. He looked at the guests and started smiling and nodding at them.
We had a few dances and right now, it's the turn of the single ones. I looked down at the gold band around my finger. I glanced at Jeff's finger and smiled when I saw the matching gold band that we have. I know this all ends in t six months but I still want to cherish how it feels.
I drank my wine before reaching for his hand. He turned to our hands before giving me a confused look. "Are you okay?" he asked as he threaded his fingers with mine.
I nodded. it true, the alcohol does wonders in my system and I already agree with him that I shouldn't even dare go near any alcoholic beverages.
He let out a heavy sigh. "Don't tell me you're drunk?" he hissed.
I pursed my lips and shrugged. I didn't dare answer him and just smiled at the guests having fun. I can see Dior having the time of her life while Ryan is just there laughing at her silly moves.
"Did Ryan and Dior date before?" I asked Jeff. He shook his head. "Those two likes getting on each other's nerves. I don't recommend them dating," he replied." I can imagine Ryan running away in the forest because Dior is a scary wolf."
I chuckled. But I guess Ambrose is right. They're better off as frenemies. To be honest, I can see the possibility of Dior dating Nelly because of the difference in their personalities. Neil can discipline her and maybe Dionessa can teach Neil how to have some fun too.
But then when I looked at Nelly, I saw him talking to Ceira who was sitting at the farthest and most secluded part of the venue.
"How is Ceira?" I asked Jeff. Dior told me she's weird and seemed to be possessed by a deity. I have bumped into her in the packhouse twice but we never really got a chance to talk. She's dismissive like she doesn't want to talk to anyone. And I actually have never seen her interact with anyone else. She seemed to have her own world.
So, I'm quite surprised that she's talking to Nelly, She still looked timid but she's having a conversation with him. Maybe she only talks to the people she trusts.
"Ceira is one of the best we have here," Jeff started. "Everyone thinks she's weird but I think she's special."
I turned to face him and saw him smiling while looking at Ceira and Neil. I pressed my lips together because, for some unknown reason, I feel a stuffy feeling in my chest. There's something about the way he stares at her that leaves a hollow feeling in my stomach.
I smiled weakly and looked away, taking my hand from him and pretended to scratch my right arm. I bit the insides of my cheeks as poured myself another glass of wine. "Are you surely drinking two glasses?" Jeff asked me.
I nodded and shrugged as I drunk the whole glass of wine in one go. His eyes widened and I just grinned. It actually feels different now that I'm drinking. It's not the same as the feeling when I drunk the first time with Dior.
I kept drinking with Jeff scolding me with every glass I emptied. He was sighing in frustration while I continued drinking like a professional alcohol drinker.
"You're drunk, Jeff whispered when I already laid my head on his shoulder. My arm is hooked around his and I smiled. I can barely see things clearly because I already feel sleepy. "You should stop pushing yourself to me right now. I already told you before. I may not be able to control myself."
His voice was laced with authority but I could care less. I hugged his arm and grinned wider. "Why do you have to control yourself?" I asked him, slurring a bit because of the effect of the alcohol.
I heard him let out a frustrated sigh. "What do you think?
"he hissed. "It's because of that stupid rule of yours." I looked up and raised my brow. "Last time I check, you didn't think twice. You just kissed me until we're already making out in your car."
He scoffed in disbelief before shaking his head. "Are you saying that we already made out?" he asked mischievously." Baby, I haven't touched you yet. What we did in the car was purely kissing..." he trailed. "But I can't promise you the same for tonight. Not when you're being clingy like this."
I chuckled and reached for his ear. I didn't care if the entire pack was watching us. I just have this strong urge inside me to be close to him. "Can you define necessary?" I asked, my lips brushing against his ear.
I can feel him stiffening at my move. His jaw is clenched tightly as he threw me an irritated look. "What are you talking about?" he growled lowly.
I shrugged. "When you said you'd break my rules when necessary, what did you mean?" I asked him.
He pursed his lips in a thin line before sighing hard. "I meant I'd break it if you seduce me like what you're doing right now." His voice was dangerous that it sent shivers down my spine.
Suddenly, I regret provoking him. I looked into his eyes and saw him staring at me like he's trying to melt me with his gaze.
"I don't mind kissing you here," he replied. "We're married anyway."
I swallowed hard and averted my gaze. I took in several deep breaths to calm myself. I knew it. It's my mouth that's always digging my grave.
Jeff wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to him. "Hmm...why are you suddenly shy? "he whispered.
"Where's your bravado, Andrea? You sounded so tempting and provoking just moments ago." I know.
Jeff held my face and directed my gaze to him. He's staring at me with narrowed eyes. "You're sleepy. Let's go to our room," he whispered.
I gave him a horrified look. "Our room?" He nodded. "We're married now. We should share the same room," he replied.
"Besides, we are sharing the same room. Why do you look so offended by the thought of it?
Offended? I don't feel offended. I feel horrified because of what he told me. What if he couldn't stop himself? What if I stupidly provoke him and make him do things that...! | shouldn't be thinking about what he's going to do to me. I should be stopping myself from doing something stupid. That's the only way for him to be able to control himself.
He's a wolf after all.
"I'm not sleepy," I lied. I want to lie on the bed and sleep the whole night until midday tomorrow. The past few days have been hectic. I am so grateful that it's finally over. Now, I can just focus on pretending that I'm his mate while he finds the real one.
Jeff smirked. "Your eyes look tired. Maybe we should cut the party short," he said.
I shook my head. How can he just stop the party when everyone is still having fun? I looked around and saw that the visitors are still enjoying the celebration. I can't just leave because I'm tired and sleepy. These people also worked hard for days. I should be more considerate.
"Everyone is still having fun." I said. "Maybe I can just change into a more comfortable dress. Dior gave me something I can change into during the reception."
Jeff narrowed his eyes at me before sighing hard in defeat. "Fine," he said. "Let's get you changed. Can you stand
up?"
I nodded and stood up but I felt dizzy all of a sudden.
Jeff was there behind me and caught me in his arms..
"You can't walk," he said, "I think we should end this day.
Just as he said that, Roselyn came to us. "Are you okay. Andrea?" she asked me in a worried tone of voice.
I smiled and nodded. "Yes, Rosemary," I replied, vision still wavy and blurry because of the wine I had.
"Mom, please tell them to continue the party in the packhouse," Jeff ordered. "My wife needs to sleep now. She's been drinking too much."
Rosemary narrowed her eyes at me before nodding, "Sure,
she beamed at her son. "I'll tell them. For sure, both of you are tried too. You should make the most of the night," she giggled before calling everyone's attention while Jeff assisted me inside the house.
"You didn't have to do that," I told him while he's assisting me up the stairs. He was just quiet and was determined to put me to bed. "What will the guests think? They would think that we're going to have se.x!"
Jeff stopped and looked at me with a raised brow." So?" he asked. "We're married now. Everyone expects us to have sex." He countered.
My jaw dropped as I looked at him in disbelief. "I can't believe you said that!"
He chuckled and shook his head. "You're sleepy, baby. Maybe I should put you to bed," he said before assisting me inside his room-which is ourroom now. He made me sit on the edge of the bed.
"I'll just get you some clothes," he told me but I held his hand and stopped him. He narrowed his eyes at me. "What's wrong?"
I shut my eyes and swallowed hard as I felt my stomach churning. "I think I want to vomit," I told him. "It's shameful but can you help me walk to the bathroom?"
He nodded and without any question, carried me bridal style to the bathroom. He pulled a stood and made me sit on it while I threw up on the toilet bowl. Because I ate a lot of cake and sashimi, I think I threw up all my intestines inside the bowl.
Jeff watched me and stroked my back as I kept on throwing up. I think it took me fifteen minutes in front of the bowl until I heard him ask if I'm done.
"I think so," I murmured. "Can you unzip my dress? It's tight,"
Jeff did as he was told. I am wearing a thin white inner dress so I was not worried that much. "You should remove it so you could move better," he told me as he started removing my wedding gown. He started with the crown and the veil before sliding my dress down my body. His eyes were on me. "Are you okay?"
I frowned at shook my head. "I want to take a bath," I told him.
Jeff was quiet for a while before letting out a heavy breath. "I already told you that it will be very hard for me to control myself this time, Andrea," he said like a warning.
I swallowed and sighed. "I can take a bath on my own,"I told him as I held onto both of his arms while I struggled to step out of my gown that's already on the bathroom floor.
I heard Jeff scoffing. "You can take a bath on your own, you say? You can't even stand straight." He scolded me as he started removing his tie and coat.
"What are you doing?" I asked, alarmed.
He gave me a bored look. He removed his shirt and unbuckled his belt, ignoring my question.
"Wait!" My head is spinning not because of the alcohol but because of the fact that Jeff is stripping in front of me.
