Chapter 44: Chapter 44

"You look stunning," Dior said as she looked at me from the mirror. She's holding a make-up brush while smiling at me widely, proud of what she's done to my face and my hair.

She's my maid of honor and she was also in charge of my hair and makeup. Aside from being a designer, she also has a certification on makeup and hairstyling. She trained for months and had done side jobs related to this.

I stared at myself in the mirror, couldn't believe that I look like this. The make-up wasn't excessive and exaggerated but it's just enough to accentuate all of my features. My hair - is in a French braid with loose strands gelled together, falling on either side of my face.

"I cannot wait to see you in your wedding gown," she giggled as she fixed her make-up. She only left her brush and loose powder for touch up later on. "Amanda is waiting for you. Go and wear your gown." She looked at her wristwatch." It's almost three. You have to be there at three-thirty or Ambrose will lose his mind." She winked.

I walked to the walk-in closet where Amanda is. She's with her other staff and Marinel, one of the members of the pack. I have seen her several times but I never really had the chance to talk to her because of the wedding preparations. She's one of those who prepare breakfast for us every day.

Amanda looked at me with wide eyes. "Oh, my goodness! Andrea, you look divine!" she beamed at me. Behind her is the white wedding dress that she has were additional gold beads on the waistline, looking like a belt and accentuating the whole look of the dress. On the side table, I can see the gold crown filled with sparkling Andrea with the white veil.

I have seen it yesterday when I came to her shop for the final fitting but I am still in awe of the finished product. I still cannot believe that I am going to wear that gown. I can only imagine how far Ambrose would go to when he finally finds his mate.

"Come here," Amanda told me. "We'll help you wear it. It's almost time. You need to be at the venue in less than an hour."

I nodded and complied as all four of them helped me get settled. I smiled at Marinel because she was fixing the hem of my dress. "Thank you," I told her.

"You're welcome, Luna," she replied, making me narrow my eyes at her. Luna? I am not married to Ambrose yet. But maybe that was what they were told to call me.

I gave her a weak smile before looking at Amanda who was already smiling at me proudly. Her staff members behind her were also giving me a thumbs-up. "I can never imagine someone wearing this dress as regal as you," she told me.

I don't know if she's only trying to make me feel better

but I still smiled and thanked her.

"Gea, please assist her in wearing her crown and her veil, she ordered at the girl with the pink hair.

"Yes, Ma'am," Gea replied and immediately placed the crown meticulously on my head. "Please tell me if it feels comfortable," she told me.

"It's okay, I replied.

"It's not in the center," another staff said and Gea immediately adjusted depending on the directions of her colleague. "There! Perfect!"

Gea went on to attach the veil below the crown. "Tell me if the pin is too tight," she told me.

"It's okay." I replied. Her hands are delicate. I don't even feel her touching me because she was too careful. "Thank you," I told her when she finished.

I stared at the full-body mirror in front of me in disbelief as I looked at myself wearing a gown this elegant. With the crown on my head, I look like some princess from a fairytale. Never in my whole had I imagined that I will be married like this. I never even dreamed of being married because I am only the daughter of a mere omega.

Tears started to brim around my eyes as my heart swelled by the thought of my parents. I know this is only a wedding to help both parties but how I wish they are here to witness this.

Marinel looked at me with wide eyes. "Why are you crying?" she asked as she immediately handed me some tissue. "Dior will get mad if you ruin your make up," ," she added.

I chuckled and nodded. "Thank you," I said as I carefully tapped the tissue along my eyelids. I heaved a deep breath before calming myself.

I smiled at everyone before nodding. "Let's go?" I asked and they all helped me to go down the stairs with my wedding dress on.

I am inside the limousine with Dior. We're already parked at the venue and just waiting for everyone to settle down outside.

"Oh, look at Pyro," Dior said. "He might look dangerous but he's dashing in his black suit today. I looked at her and saw her smiling widely. I just shook my head. I need to be used to her sentiments on handsome men. She's just too open to her thoughts about how men look and how excited they make her seem.

I looked around and automatically smiled hen I saw Jeff in his all-white three-piece suit. Ryan and Neil were talking to him but he's looking at the limousine's way with narrowed eyes. I already had the urge to go out and show myself but Dior told me that we have to wait for the organizer's cue before I get out.

We heard the ceremony starting with Jeff walking along in the aisle. I was already drumming my fingers on my lap as I waited for my turn.

Finally, when the entourage is almost done, they opened my door.

Jeff came out first to help me move. She smiled at me as she assisted me together with Amanda's staff.

"Are you ready?" she asked and I nodded. She walked down the aisle brightly as I stood at the starting point with a bouquet of sunflowers in my hand.

Everyone was looking at me with wide smiles. Even from here, I can see Rosemary wiping her tears. I smiled before my eyes landed on Ambrose who's looking my way with parted lips.

I swallowed hard as the music changed to a piano version of a famous ninety's song. My heart started pounding against my chest as I began walking down the aisle. I'm nervous because of the heels I am wearing. What if l suddenly trip? That would be very embarrassing especially now that all of the members of the pack seemed to have attended the ceremony.

I focused on my feet and could only let out a breath of relief when I was already close to the front.

Jeff seemed to have been bored the whole I was walking because I can now see him with a clenched jaw. I tried to smile at him but he only narrowed his eyes before walking towards me.

"Are you getting bored?" I asked him.

He held my hand before nodding. "I hate it when you take your precious time before you reach me," he whispered. My lips parted as I feel my cheeks burning, thinking of a different meaning of his words.

He let out a deep sigh before tightening his grip around my hands. "Let's go. I can't wait to marry you," he said, making me confused yet again.

The ceremony is unexpectedly long. When I looked at the program last night, I had only expected it to be less than one hour but it's already more than one hour now.

I sighed and looked at Jeff who was staring at the Minister in front of us. I smiled weakly before looking to the front again.

"Are you getting bored?" Jeff whispered to me.

I looked at him and smiled. "A little." I replied. He chuckled before smiling at me. "Shall we tell him to speed up?"

I stifled a laugh and looked up front again. I know Jeff could do that in a heartbeat. He's the Alpha after all. I just decided to try to see the good in the Minister's preaching. He's talking about how a marriage should be. How the wife and the husband should compromise and let love be the center of the marriage.

Jeff reached for my hand and held it tight as we're asked to state our vows for each other.

I swallowed hard as I looked at Jeff standing in front of me without anything to read. Now, I'm suddenly pressured because my vow was written in a bond paper. Did he memorize his?

He was given the microphone before sighing hard while staring into my eyes through the veil.

"Andrea," he began with a forced smile and my heart rate started to shoot up, too. "I don't really know what to say." He sighed and the crowd laughed. "I don't know what makes me deserving to be your husband but I will try to take care of you and protect you at all costs."

I swallowed a forming lump in my throat as my eyes started to water. I don't even know why I am getting teary-eyed at his first sentence. But there was something sincere in his voice that tugged some strings of my heart.

"I don't know what other things to promise you but I'll surely try my hardest to understand you every time you sound absurd. I'll be with you through the roughest and smoothest moments of our lives." He stared deep into my eyes before smiling widely. His grip on my hand tightened. "I will make you the first priority from this moment forward..." he paused and let out a deep sigh.

"...until my final breath."

Tears were already falling down incessantly and I hate it because it's already my turn. Jeff brought out a white hanky from his inside pocket. He inserted his hand under the veil and wiped my tears.

"Why are you crying?" he whispered while chuckling. I sighed and rolled my eyes. Who wouldn't cry when he's already given a speech like that?

This is not even a real wedding and he's already capable of saying things like that. How much more when he's already with his rightful mate?

I sighed hard and gathered myself back together. I gulped several times and nodded when I was feeling better.

I raised the microphone near my mouth and opened the folded paper I inserted in the bouquet I was holding a while ago. I did a quick skim on the words I said and realized that my words were nothing compared to Jeff's.

I bit my lip and chuckled weakly. "I'm suddenly contemplating if it's okay for me to read this vow I wrote last night," I said and Jeff smiled. "Like you, I don't know what to promise. But I'll surely try my best to serve you with great food." Jeff chuckled before nodding. "I promise to be the wife who will understand all your mood swings and stay with you through good and bad."

I smiled widely and nodded at him. "You're the first person who ever accepted me for who I am. Words can never quantify how thankful that you came into my life, I continued. "So, I'll do everything to make sure you're always happy."

I smiled as I brought the microphone down. Jeff's eyes were bloodshot and it actually feels good that I made him teary-eyed with my speech.

The Minister continued with the remaining parts of the wedding rites but I couldn't think straight anymore. As usual, I feel like I am in an enclosed space, a different time and space, with Jeff. It's as if we're inside our own bubble without a care in the world.

He suddenly raised my veil, fixing it as it fell down on my back. Now that I can see his face clearly, my heart pounded harder.

He smiled weakly before touching my face, brushing his thumb against my cheek. He leaned closer until our faces were only inches apart. "You forgot to promise to never drink again," he whispered.

I frowned at him. "You said I can't drink when I'm not with you, right?" I corrected.

He chuckled and nodded. "Yes," he said. "Don't drink night," I said and Jeff smiled. "Like you, I don't know what to promise. But I'll surely try my best to serve you with great food." Jeff chuckled before nodding. "I promise to be the wife who will understand all your mood swings and stay with you through good and bad."
