"Okay, what is it? What's wrong?" I asked as I looked at him with concern written all over my face.

"There was no one who was hunting down Alpha Ross to capture him. I'm afraid that Alpha Ross escaped during the night after he ran away from the pack house."

"Oh, no..." I murmured as I sat up in bed. We finally caught him again and now, he was gone? How are we going to catch him again, especially since he has the Mirror Of Wisdom with him? Where would we even start? Besides, he was probably going to change his hideouts.

"I'm sorry, darling, I truly am." Alpha Clause said as he stood up from the bed and held my hands in his own, "However, I have a plan. There's a good chance that he will return to the pack house soon, so we need to prepare ourselves for it."

"When will he come back, Clause?" I asked him as I looked at him curiously.

"I don't know, but I promise you that we will not let him get away with what he has done, I promise you that, baby." He replied as I nodded.

"Alright, honey. Whatever you say." I sighed as I lay back down in bed and stared at the ceiling.

Alpha Clause walked over to me and he kissed my forehead as I smiled at him.

"You're welcome, baby. Now, shall we go downstairs to eat breakfast?" He asked me as he took my hand in his.

I nodded with a small smile. "Yeah... alright, I guess we should."

After we ate, we left the house to do some patrol around the surrounding areas, especially in the forest where Alpha Ross disappeared to. We decided to split up so we could cover more grounds and make sure he wasn't sneaking around anywhere.

"Carter, you take this side of the forest with your team, and Harold, you take this side with your team while Fay and I will go through the center of the forest." Alpha Clause ordered in his Alpha voice, making everyone straighten up.

"Yes, Alpha!" The warriors answered in unison.

I nodded as I replied, "Okay, honey, let's go."

"Stay close to me, my one, and I love you." Alpha Clause told me as he leaned forward and gave me another kiss.

"Love you too, Clause." I replied before I walked off with Alpha Clause's hand in mine.

We walked for quite a while before we finally found Alpha Ross' scent in the air.

"What do you think he's doing?" I asked him as we kept walking.

"Maybe he's trying to find a place to hide in the forest, or maybe he's headed back to the city."

"How do you know?" I asked him as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Because he's a coward, and I can smell it." He replied as he sniffed the air and followed the trail of Alpha Ross' scent.

"Alright, Clause, let's hurry up and get him. I don't want to lose him again. It was so hard to catch him the first time." I told him as we continued following the trail.

"Don't worry, we will get him, I promise you that." He replied as he squeezed my hand tighter.

"Alright, let's go." I said as I released his hand and ran towards the entrance of the forest, eager to capture Alpha Ross.

"Fay, wait!" He called out to me as I kept running ahead.

"I'm coming, Clause!" I shouted back at him as I raced to catch up with him.

"Wait!" He yelled again as I slowed down for a moment, but I knew I couldn't stop running now.

"Get ready!" He exclaimed as he ran ahead of me and turned into his Lycan form.

"Are you kidding me?!" I gasped in shock as I tried to keep up with him.

"What?! You want to race me? Well, here I am!" He said as he ran faster than ever before.

I gasped as I followed after him. "I-I'm not gonna win, Clause!" I shouted back at him as I chased after him.

"Then I'll just chase you!" He teased me as I turned into my wolf form to try and catch up with him, but quickly turned back.

"But we need to focus on finding Alpha Ross before he gets away again!"

"I know, but if I can beat you here, then it means I'm faster." He said as he sped up.

"Fine, I give up! You win!" I panted as I glanced back to see how far behind I was.

"Ha ha, you lost, you lousy loser!" He laughed as he ran even faster than I did.

"Hey, Clause! Wait up!" I called out to him as I ran after him again.

"Keep up, Fay, I'm almost there!" He called out to me as he kept running.

"Almost there, huh?" I mumbled as I ran after him.

"Yes!" He exclaimed as he turned to the right and started running.

"Clause, wait!" I cried out as I ran after him, but it was already too late.

He disappeared from sight and I couldn't find him anywhere in the forest anymore.

"Clause!! Where are you?! Come on, Clause!" I called out to him as I looked around in hopes that he would reappear.

"Claude, wait!" I heard someone call out to me as I turned around and saw Alpha Ross standing there with a big grin on his face.

"Alpha Ross!" I growled angrily as I jumped towards him with my teeth bared.

"Woah, calm down, Fay. It's just me." He chuckled as he grabbed my forepaw and pulled me back.

"I thought you were him!!" I yelled at him as I glared at him.

"Now, don't go getting all worked up over nothing, okay? I just wanted to see if you could follow my scent," He chuckled as he rubbed his nose against mine.

"That's not funny!" I snapped as I shook my head and stepped back from him with anger written on my face.

"Just checking!" He chuckled as he turned and started walking away.

"Where are you going?!" I demanded as I chased after him.

"To find Alpha Ross before he escapes again, obviously." He chuckled again as he glanced at me with an amused look on his brows.
