Chapter 78: Chapter 78

"Stop right there, rogue!" Alpha Clause yelled as he, Alpha Mason and the warriors walked back into the cottage.

The rogue stopped moving towards Luna Kat and me and turned around to look at Alpha Clause. "Now what?"

"You're under arrest for being Alpha Ross's rogue. Surrender yourself or we'll have you as a prisoner."

"You're bluffing. You don't have enough strength to beat me and take me prisoner."

"We're stronger than you think, rogue as Lycans, the first kind of werewolves. And we know more about how to hunt and track your kind than you do. So we'll defeat you and bring you in."

The rogue glared at Alpha Clause as he answered, "I'll take my chances."

"Fine. Then let's go." Alpha Clause responded as he, Alpha Mason, and the warriors walked outside.

We followed them as we watched the rogue walk outside and then turn around to watch us. Alpha Clause took point and the warriors followed behind him as we walked out into the forest. When we reached a clearing in the woods, Alpha Mason signaled to stop and we all instantly stopped.

The rogue lunged at Alpha Clause as he shifted into his wolf form. Alpha Clause shifted into his Lycan form and started fighting with him. The rogue was a lot smaller than he was, but he wasn't very strong either, especially since Alpha Clause was the strongest and most powerful Lycan alive. He tried to use brute force against Alpha Clause, but the Alpha was able to dodge the rogue's attacks and counterattack. They fought for several minutes until the rogue fell onto his side.

He got back up and started running away from Alpha Clause and the warriors. As he was running, he suddenly tripped and fell flat on his face in the grass.

"Stop playing around and surrender!" Alpha Clause bellowed at the rogue.

"I will never surrender!" He growled back as he got back to his feet.

"Come on, you're outnumbered now. Surrender and we'll treat you fairly."

"You're just scared of me. You're not going to take me in as your pack member, you're just going to imprison me and leave me there to rot or kill me!"

"Please, just surrender and we can talk about this. We don't have to hurt you."

"I'm not afraid of you. But if you try to hurt me, I will bite off your head and rip out your heart!"

"Even though we haven't even touched you yet?" Alpha Clause asked with a grin on his face.

"What are you talking about? You don't even know what I'm capable of!"

"I know that you will be cowering in fear before long because we're more powerful than you."

The rogue let out a deep growl as he got to his feet and started charging toward Alpha Clause. His speed was faster than Alpha Clause's, but the Alpha was much bigger and stronger. Alpha Clause was able to dodge the rogue's attack and then counterattack. He pinned the rogue down and pinned his arms above his head as he growled, "I warned you."

"Why are you doing this?" The rogue begged, "You don't need to fight me anymore, just let me go and I'll leave and never bother you again."

"I can't let you go since you are with Alpha Ross and is so adamant on being against us!"

"If you let me go, I promise I won't say anything about you or your pack ever again!"

"Your word isn't worth anything at all, rogue!" Alpha Clause growled at him as he tightened his grip on the rogue's arms.

"Then I guess I don't have a choice, do I?"

"I guess not."

Alpha Mason grabbed hold of the rogue's legs and pulled him off his feet so that he was now lying on his back on the ground. Then he bent down and put his face close to the rogue's. "I'm going to tell take you as prisoner now by force since you're not going to surrender!"

The rogue looked at Alpha Mason with wide eyes as he whimpered, "Please don't hurt me!"

"Shut up and listen!" He snapped at him and glared into his eyes. "You will be taken as prisoner and you will stay in a cell until we decide what to do with you. If you try to escape, I will break your arm and leg and then I'll make you crawl through the mud and muck until you die! Do you understand?"

"Yes, I understand!" He whimpered and hung his head low in defeat.

The warriors stood up and helped Alpha Clause to his feet as they walked over and picked up the rogue. Two of the pack warriors dragged him back to the pack house and placed him in a cell that was located behind the dining hall. The rogue was still screaming and crying for help as they locked the door and then closed the metal bars on the window of the cell.

"Alpha Clause! Alpha Ross has escaped while you were at his cottage! One of the rogues that we took in as pack members let him out of his prison cell." Carter said in a panicked voice as he rushed towards us.

"Why in the hell did he do that?" Alpha Clause growled angrily as he shook his head, "Just great, now I'm going to have to find him and capture him again."

"What should we do now?" Alpha Mason asked nervously as he looked at me with worried eyes.

"We'll figure something out before he tracks us again. Until then, we'll gather our packs together and prepare ourselves for war." Alpha Clause muttered, shaking his head in frustration as he ran a hand through his dark hair.

"It was so hard to finally capture him and now he's gone. This means that we're going to have to use the Mirror of Wisdom to catch him again." I said as I let out a sigh.

Carter looked nervous as he smiled awkwardly, "Actually, he took the Mirror of Wisdom with him now, so we have no way of finding him and he can now see our every move through the magic mirror. So what are we going to do?"
