Chapter 77: Chapter 77

I knew that all the Lycans and their mates were hot, but they seemed even hotter today. However, none of them could compare to my Alpha mate, Alpha Clause that was way hotter and sexier. I wondered why they seemed even more beautiful that day, maybe it was because we had the feeling of finally attaining peace. We knew that we were so close to defeating Alpha Ross.

"Hello, Luna Fay. It is good to see you again." Alpha Mason greeted me warmly as he held open his hand to shake mine, "And you must be Beta Bailey. I am pleased to meet you, we didn't get formally introduced yesterday. I understand that you have been trained and taught how to fight, as well as how to lead a pack."

She blushed at his words and nodded politely, "Yes, Alpha Clause and Luna Fay are going to start training me since I've never been a warrior before and I'm a newly appointed Beta."

He nodded at her then turned to Alpha Clause as he shook his hand, "Clause, are you ready to scout Alpha Ross's original hideout and find what we can there?"

"Yes, we will be there shortly. Our pack is just finishing their breakfast in the dining hall, so we will eat and then leave. We shall return here afterwards."

"Great, let's go."

Forty minutes later, Alpha Mason, Luna Kat, four of our pack warriors, and my Alpha mate, Alpha Clause and I reached Alpha Ross's original hideout. It was the cottage in the woods that Tyler took us to when we first caught him and Kaden after they attacked us. We all piled into the cottage and started looking around for any clues or relevant information that Alpha Ross might have or any if his rogues that might still be hiding.

We went room by room and checked under beds, up closets, and inside drawers. We looked through every single book and photograph on the shelves and found nothing of importance. After an hour of searching, we had come back out into the main living area to discuss where to next.

"Well, it doesn't look like anyone has been here since Alpha Ross left this place," said Alpha Clause while he paced back and forth in the middle of the living room, "It looks like everything was packed up and moved when he left and the rest of the house is vacant."

Alpha Mason nodded in agreement with his Beta, "Yes, it does seem that way."

Then he stopped pacing and looked over at me before glancing at everyone, "We should search the grounds outside to make sure we don't miss anything, but it would be better if someone stayed here with the pack members here than everyone going out there together. That way if a rogue was hiding outside and waiting for us to leave, he would think we left and come back right in then we can catch him and ask what he's up to."

I nodded as I agreed, "You're right, honey. I'll stay here with Luna Kat while the rest of you search the area surrounding the cottage."

"Good idea, Luna Fay." He smiled at me and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Then he turned back to the others and continued, "Okay, guys, let's head back to the dining hall and grab some food. We'll be back soon."

"I'm hungry too," said Luna Kat as she stretched her arms overhead, "Let's go!"

So we made our way to the couches in the living room while they left. As we got there, we all sat down on one of the couches. I glanced at Luna Kat as I asked her, curiously, "Does Luna Ashley usually act the way she did yesterday?"

"Not really," she sighed, "She was just a little stressed and over tired with everything going on, and probably because she was jealous of you."

I felt shocked as I looked at her with wide eyes, "I never thought that you would defend her seeing that you two aren't exactly on good terms."

"Oh no, I'm not defending her. I just wanted to explain what happened and why she acted that way. She's always been the jealous type and she gets clingy when she's feeling insecure. She's also a manipulative bitch that likes acting innocent and sweet, but she's not. The only reason I'm even speaking to her is because she's a Luna too."

I stared at her in shock as I nodded slowly, "That makes sense now."

"But anyways, I'm glad that we're the way we are because I wouldn't want to be friends with someone like her." Luna Kat replied with a smile on her face.

A thud sounded through the cottage and we quickly stood up as we realized that it came from the kitchen. We both ran to it to see a man of around forty years with a shaved head and thin built climb into the cottage through the kitchen window. He looked like a rogue and one of Alpha Ross's rogues.

He must have been hiding outside when he heard us coming and came back in now when he saw Alpha Clause and the others outside, thinking that we have all left which means that Alpha Clause's theory has been proven right.

"Who are you?!" I yelled as I studied him with narrowed eyes.

"What do you mean who am I? I f**king live here! You're the intruder in my home!" The rogues yelled back with a menacing growl.

"Are you one of Alpha Ross's rogues?" Luna Kat asked him, curiously.

He glared at her, "Yeah, I am. Why?"

"Did Alpha Ross bring you here?"

The rogue looked confused for a moment before nodding, "Yeah, he brought me here and told me to wait here until he gets back."

I looked at him sternly, "Alpha Ross is our prisoner now just like his other rogues, so you either surrender to us or we have you as our prisoner too."

"No, I won't give up. I'm not giving up. No one is going to make me surrender." He growled loudly as he started to walk towards Luna Kat and I.
