Chapter 55: Chapter 55

"I had a fight with the Sirens and lead them away from all of you as we fought." He answered me as he brushed a few strands of hair away from my face.

"So it's their blood?" I asked him, feeling a bit disturbed as I looked down at the blood on his shirt. However, I also felt relieved and glad that it wasn't his blood. My Alpha mate wasn't hurt after all like I had originally thought.

He nodded as he looked concerned about my reaction, but not guilty, and he shouldn't feel guilty when he was just trying save us. He drew in a deep breath and let it out as he answered me, "Yeah, but I didn't kill them. Just wounded them deeply enough that they won't recover soon to try coming after us again."

"Okay, but even if you killed them, I would understand that it's in self defense." I said, reassuring him with a smile on my lips.

His lips twitched up into a smile as his alluring dark eyes stared into my hazel ones, "Yeah, I know, my one."

"Anyway, how did I end up here? And what happened to the sirens?" I asked him, curiously as he gripped my waist and stared at me.

Alpha Clause sighed as he looked around the forest, "They changed into giant monsters and chased us here."

He paused for a moment and then looked directly into my eyes, "And I believe that they are also the ones who brought us here too that is before I led them away."

"What do you mean, 'they changed into monsters?' " I asked, feeling curious and disturbed at the same time.

"Their natural form is a beastly, monstrous form, and they are part of a race of creatures that live under the sea. They have a natural ability to change into different forms including humans."

"Woah!" I exclaimed in shock, amazement and concern.

He looked amused at my reaction and nodded as he continued explaining, "Yeah, most of them can only transform themselves into women, but there are some who can turn into men too. They use their powers to lure in their victims and drag them underwater where they drown them and feast on their flesh."

I gasped and looked at him with wide eyes, "Why haven't I ever heard of these people before? And why do they hate us so much that they attacked us or is it just because they are hungry?"

"Well, the sirens were once human, just like us, but they became monsters after being cursed. Their curse has caused them to become slaves to their own hunger and desires. The only way for them to stop wanting to feed on human flesh or anything that looks human is to die. They can't ever go back to being normal people again, even if they managed to return from the dead."

I shook my head and stared into his eyes as I felt pitiful for them, but also angry that they let their desires control them, "I get it now, it's because they were once humans too, they were innocent, and now, they hate anyone that resembles humans. Even though they didn't deserve this curse and they can't help, but feed on humans and the like, they should still try to control their desires."

He rested his chin on my head as he continued to talk, pulling me back into a hug, "Yeah, I know. I believe that they should still try to take control just like vampires do with human blood. Besides, there have been many instances over the years where the sirens have tried to kill werewolves or at least kidnap us. They wanted our land and resources, because they had no sense of gaining those themselves.

If they ever found a way to travel through the water, they would use it to conquer the entire world. At first, we thought that they might have been able to help us against the other creatures and rogues trying to disrupt the peace in our land, but we soon realized that there was a reason why they hated us so much. After we fought back against them, they always attacked us again and again. They eventually disappeared and we had no idea that this Forbidden Forest was where they were hiding."

"Woah! This must be a very long time ago because I had no idea. They seem like very dangerous and hot tempered creatures. Let's just hope that we don't meet anymore sirens." I commented as I rested my head on his toned chest.

He closed his eyes and sighed, "I hope so too, my Fay."

Suddenly, my legs gave way and I started fallling down, but he caught me in his arms as his brows furrowed in concern. I made gave him a weak smile as I muttered, "I don't know why I feel so weak, I don't think I'll be able to walk very far."

"It's alright, it's the effect of the siren song that still hasn't worn off." He replied in a reassuring tone, but he still looked very concerned.

He picked me up bridal style as he added, "And don't worry, my one. I'll carry you since we need to find a way out of this forest as soon as possible."

I nodded as I noticed that it was night time already and I wondered just how long I was unconscious on that hill. I glanced at him as I asked, "Where are the others anyway?"

"I saw some of the sirens take away Alpha Nathan, Carter and Luna Kasey. I have no idea where the others are because I left them together with you. We need to find them now and get out of here."

I nodded, feeling concerned as I thought about the state that they might be in, "Yeah, you're right."

We continued to walk in silence until we reached a clearing where we spotted Alpha Nathan, Luna Kasey and Carter tied up around a large tree at the center of the clearing. I took a deep breath, feeling the fresh air fill my lungs.
