Chapter 54: Chapter 54
Luna Ashley certainly wouldn't feel for me either. Even though I didn't really like being in the Forbidden Forest either, I knew that we had to walk through it again to get home, so we all just had to be patient. It was also kind of bratty of her to complain like that.
It turned out that I wasn't the only one that noticed Luna Ashley's discomfort. Alpha Wyatt glanced at her as he suggested in a reassuring voice, "Well, you and I can go back if you don't want to go through the Forbidden Forest again."
I was a bit surprised that he was trying to reassure her since he has acted cold towards her and they have proven not to be close. However, I knew that she shouldn't act that way when Alpha Sloan had his crap together after losing his soul mate and the love of his life. He was quieter than usual as we discussed and in my opinion, he was the one that needed the most reassurance.
Luna Ashley nodded her head stifly as she answered him, "Okay, let's just hope that the path we took is the same one we took last time. That way, those evil elves and witches wouldn't bother us again since we scared them away earlier."
"They're not elves, silly, they're Leprechauns." Luna Kasey corrected her with an amused look on her face.
Luna Ashley looked angry as she forced a smile at her, "Same thing, silly."
"We need to start moving before the sun goes down." Alpha Clause said as he started towards the forest and I glanced over at the sky to see that the sun was almost down.
The others followed us without question and we continued walking while talking here and there. We didn't stop until we came across a clearing where the trees grew closer together. A group of three people sat huddled under a tree. They looked human, but there was an aura around them that said otherwise.
"Who are you? No, what are you?" Luna Kasey asked, her voice full of curiosity.
One of the girls stood up and walked towards us. She was tall and thin with pale skin and light brown hair covering her back. Her eyes looked hazel, but I couldn't tell which color they actually were.
"We are sirens, and we want you to come with us." she replied as she grinned at us.
Before we knew what was going on, she started singing, bewitching us all and making us fall into her spell. It felt like magic. Magic that could make us do anything she wanted us to do. Our minds went blank as we followed her and the other sirens deeper into the forest. Why did they have us following them? Were they planning to eat us too? Where were they taking us? We needed to break away from their spell and get the hell out of this forest!
Alpha Clause got to his knees and began crawling, dragging himself through the dirt in an effort to escape as he tried to resist the magic of her compelling song. He was a strong man just like the other Alphas. The rest of us tried to crawl away as well, but it was hopeless. We were outnumbered by the sirens. All we could hope for now was that we would somehow find our way back home. I thought as I dropped on the ground, my eyes closing as the song of the sirens washed over me.
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the smell of fresh air filled my nostrils. I opened my eyes slowly and saw that I was laying on top of a small hill, looking over an ocean of trees. I was still in the Forbidden Forest. It was almost like the forest wanted to keep us there as several creatures kept attacking us. I wondered if the others made it out of the forest, no, I knew that Alpha Clause wouldn't leave me and neither would any of the others. Well, maybe Luna Ashley would leave me here and escape from the forest.
Looking around, there seemed to be no sign of any of them. How did we get separated? Did something bad happen to them? I hoped not, I thought as worry gripped me. A couple of minutes later, I heard a loud yell coming from somewhere nearby that sounded like Alpha Clause, "Fay!"
"Clause!" I yelled back as I scrambled up from the hill and started running down, hoping that maybe I would be able to find him before something else came along and attacked us.
"Clause!" I yelled again as I ventured through the trees.
A few minutes after yelling his name, I finally spotted him coming through the woods towards me. He looked tired than he did earlier, and as soon as he saw me, he started running towards me. His clothes were stained with blood and his dark hair was disheveled. He was covered in cuts and bruises as well, but they were healing as he walked and closing up. Since he was a Lycan, he healed even faster than werewolves. This meant that he just had the fight that made him look like this.
As soon as he reached me, he enveloped in a tight hug as he sighed, "Fay! Thank God I found you."
There was so much blood on his clothes that I couldn't help, but think about how dangerous it must've been for him to fight. But who did he fight? It couldn't be those innocent looking sirens, could it?
I hugged him closer to me as he tightened his strong muscular arms around me and murmured against his shoulder, "And thank God, you're okay, honey."
I felt relieved to know that he survived the attack of the sirens and whatever monsters that tired him like this. However, I still felt worried to see him this way, so I pulled back as I asked with a concerned look on my face, "What happened to you? Why are you covered in blood?"
