Chapter 49: Chapter 49
Why was he hell bent on getting us? It surely couldn't be just for food. Besides, Leprechauns were know to be liars and mischievous, so he must have been lying when he said that they wanted to eat us.
Maybe they did, but I believed that there was another reason. I also had a feeling that they knew my name before I even stepped foot in the Forbidden Forest, but how and why? I pushed the thoughts away from my mind as I looked around at everyone. I didn't want to think about those human hungry Leprechauns anymore, not after we have finally escaped their grasp.
Alpha Clause stepped towards me and took my hand in his as he asked with a concerned look on his face, "What took you so long, baby?"
"I was lost in my thoughts for a bit and I saw Asgard staring at me from the bushes." I answered him, also looking concerned, but because of Asgard.
"Alright, everyone, we need to match in there and get Alpha Ross no matter what. Do away with any rogue that stands in your way." Alpha Mason announced, taking our attention to him.
Everyone agreed and Alpha Clause let go if my hand as we matched towards the door of the old abandoned warehouse. As we neared it, Alpha Wyatt yelled, "Alpha Ross! You better open up this door right now or you'll regret it!"
However, as if they knew that we were coming, the sound of breaking glass rang out across the room just as the door burst open, and two rogue wolves rushed us. As they attacked, they tried to take us down before we were able to get to them, but their attack was futile.
Alpha Clause grabbed one by the throat and lifted him into the air as more rogue wolves rushed out of the abandoned warehouse. We started fighting the other rogue wolves as Alpha Mason tried to get through the door that was secured by many rogues to get to Aloha Ross.
"You think you can just show up and beat us all? Not a chance!" One of the rogues yelled as he shifted into wolf form and jumped at me, throwing a punch.
I dodged his fist then slammed mine into his face. He grunted and fell backwards onto the ground. The other rogue wolves were trying to fight back, but were being overpowered by the rest of our friends. It took only a few minutes for us to defeat the rogue wolves, but it felt like an hour. I ran into the warehouse to find Aloha Mason, Aloha Clause and Alpha Wyatt already inside. It seemed that Alpha Ross had fled the scene before we came in along with his other rogues.
"What do we do now?" I asked them as I looked around the empty warehouse.
"We need to find him," Alpha Mason said as he walked through the door. "He's still around this area somewhere."
"I'm going after him!" Carter added, looking furious as his hands clenched into fists.
"No." Alpha Clause replied immediately.
"That's too dangerous. We're already outnumbered and we don't have any weapons so you'll just be putting yourself and our pack in danger if you go after him."
"But he killed my parents! And he must know that we've come for him. Maybe if we confront him and talk to him, we can stop him from hurting anyone else." Carter protested as he looked about ready to burst from anger.
"Have you seen how Alpha Ross attacks and kills? What about how he eats humans? He's ruthless and he wouldn't listen to reason." Alpha Nathan said as he walked into the warehouse too with a frown on his brows.
Alpha Mason nodded as he added, "Exactly, so don't even think about following him, Carter."
Carter's frown deepened and stayed quiet while Alpha Clause stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Let it go, Carter. He's gone for now. We will find him again with the Mirror of Wisdom."
Carter nodded as he let out a sigh and muttered in a sad tone, "I just want him to pay for what he did to my parents."
"I know you do, Carter." My Alpha mate replied to him calmly, "And we will get him. Just trust us, we need to think things through first."
"Yes, Alpha." He agreed reluctantly with a bow of his head as his anger seemed to dissipate.
Alpha Wyatt turned to look at me and gave a nod, "Alright then, let's make sure that we plan before we leave."
My brows furrowed in concern as I said, "I support that too, but I think Alpha Ross already knew that we were coming. I mean, he has already packed his stuff and ran out before we could get him."
Aloha Clause nodded as he agreed, "I think so too, but how would he know?"
"Maybe he has spies around us." Luna Kasey suggested with a shrug of her slender shoulders.
"Or something more modern like a cam recorder or Mike on us or even a tracker." Luna Ashley interjected with a frown on her brows.
The others nodded in agreement to both theories and a thought came to me as I said, "What about Asgard, the Leprechaun leader?"
"Why do you think so? We met him at the end of the Forbidden Forest and he said that they only wanted to eat us." Alpha Sloan finally spoke for the first since after the passing of Luna Hailey and we all looked at him in shock.
I cleared my throat as I got out of my shock and answered him, "Well, he might be lying since he's evil and I saw him staring at me as I teleported here."
Alpha Clause seemed to support my theory as he gave me a small smile and glanced around as he said, "I believe that he was lying too and he seemed to suspicious."
"Maybe they have been watching us since we started our journey through the Forbidden Forest and have been reporting to Aloha Ross." Luna Kat sugged as she held her chin in thought.
