However, I could see the fear evident in his yellow Leprechaun eyes even though his face was relaxed, "I'm sorry, but we're far too hungry to let you go, Alpha Clause, and as for how we know your names, well, it's because we've been watching you since last night and waited for the right time to strike."

"So you just want to eat us?!" Luna Ashley growled through clenched teeth in anger as she glared at him.

"That's how it is and we are going to start with the skinny one." He answered her as he pointed at Kaden who has been quiet along with Carter and Alpha Sloan.

He looked over at the two tiny guards on each side of our cage as he ordered them, "Open the cage carefully and grab him."

"Yes, Asgard." They answered him in unison.

They turned around to face us then the one with pink hair gripped his spear while the one with brown hair unlocked the cage and pulled it open. However, as they were about to grab Kaden, Alpha Clause threw a kick at the pink haired one, making him fly back before crashing to the ground. He rushed out of the cage and threw a punch at the one holding the cage's door while Asgard turned around to sprint away. I ran out too along with the others.

"I thought Leprechauns were supposed to be after gold and not trying to eat us!" I exclaimed as several Leprechauns started rushing out of the bushes and shrubs to attack us, some with spears while others with their sharp teeth.

"Think again, Luna Fay!" I heard Asgard's voice whisper beside me and I turned around just in time to see him thrust a spear towards me.

However, Alpha Clause saw him and kicked the spear out of his hand. It fell to ground and Asgard moved his gaze from me to Alpha Clause who was standing in front of me in a protective way. After seeing that he didn't stand a chance, he turned around and ran into the forest, yelling to his fellow Leprechauns, "Retreat! We will eat them on another day!"

They had already gone too far before we could catch them, but I still tried to run after them. I only stopped when I heard a loud gasp which made both Alpha Clause and I turn around to see Kaden lying on the ground with a pear through his chest. Blood was dripping out from the wound that the spear made and he was also gurgling on his own blood.

We walked to him and I knelt down beside him, taking his hand as I cooed, "It's going to be okay."

I glanced at the Alpha Clause as I asked, "Can you heal him?"

He shook his head as he placed his arm around my shoulder, pulling me up and away from Kaden. Even though he knew that I was acting as Kaden's Luna, I could his the jealousy and possessiveness in his gaze at seeing me touch another man's hand. He looked over at him as he answered me, "His wound is too deep and he has already lost too much blood. It's impossible to save him now."

As soon as he was done speaking, Kaden's eyes rolled into the back of his head and Carter closed his eyes as he muttered, "Bless his soul."

We all responded and Alpha Mason looked over at everyone as he said, "Let's bury him and keep moving. We don't want to spend another night in this forest."

"Exactly." Alpha Clause replied to him while Alpha Wyatt and Alpha Nathan nodded. The Lunas and Alpha Sloan stayed quiet, and I noticed that he hasn't said a word since after Luna Hailey's passing. I wondered what he was going o, it must have been very painful.

After some time, the men have buried Kaden in the forest like they did with Luna Hailey and I wondered who among them brought a shovel with them into the forest. It was a weird idea, but also a good one since it helped us bury two people. I just hoped that there wouldn't be more people to bury. We continued walking towards the path that we saw. After walking for a while, I noticed a clearing in the distance which meant that we have reached the end of the Forbidden Forest, hopefully.

"There! It looks like a lake, that must be the Lake of Eversea!" Luna Kat exclaimed as she pointed at the clearing that I saw and looking at it closely, I noticed the water body in the clearing.

My lips stretched into a large smile, feeling relieved that we were finally getting out of this forest even though we had to go through the forest again to go back home. "Yes! It's the Lake of Eversea, finally!"

"What a relief! Can't wait to get out of this forest!" Luna Kasey exclaimed as she also grinned.

"Tell me about it." Alpha Nathan muttered while Alpha Clause looked amused at our excitement as he stared at me with his lips tugging up into a smile.

When we reached the clearing, we saw that after the lake, there was only sand and mountains on its other side which made me wonder if it was like the Forbidden Forest. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard Alpha Clause say, "Everyone should wait here and be alert while I swim down to get the Mirror of Wisdom."

"Sure." And "Okay." Was heard among our friends.

I glanced at him with a concerned look on my face as I said, "Are you sure about going down there? Maybe we can use a branch or something to grab it."

He shook his head as his lips tugged up into a smile and his hand cupped my cheek. His alluring dark eyes captured my brown ones, making my breath hitch at the intensity of his eyes as he murmured in his velvety deep voice, "Don't worry, baby, I'm going to be alright. Besides, you said it yourself that I'm strong and won't die easily."
