Chapter 23: Chapter 23

"God, I can't wait to get that dress off of you, baby." He murmured as he wrapped one arm around me just as Beta Connor and Brittany walked towards us.

Butterflies fluttered in my tummy as my lips stretched into a smile, feeling my heart beat faster and enjoying his attention on me, "I can't wait to get it off for you either, honey."

My words seemed to fuel his desire as desire flashed through his dark eyes that were starting to turn amber, showing that his wolf was on the surface. I felt more attracted to him as I stared back into his eyes. The clearing of a throat interrupted our moment, making us both turn around to see Brittany and Beta Connor have stopped beside us with her frowning as she cleared her throat again.

I narrowed my eyes at her as I asked in a tight voice, "What the hell do you want, Brittany?"

I was more than annoyed with her since she was still trying to come between my mate and I, especially since she already has her mate.

She forced out a laugh then pushed a fake smile on her face as she said, "Oh, Luna Fay, you're so funny. I just wanted to know when we're going to go in."

"You didn't have to interrupt us for that since we ARE here to go in, besides, you can go in on your own without us." Alpha Clause replied to her before I could as he tightened his hold on my waist.

She pressed her lips in a thin line as if trying to contain her anger before she forced out another smile, "Of course, Alpha Clause. Forgive me."

Alpha Clause only nodded at her and steered me towards the entrance as Beta Connor and Brittany walked with us towards the double doors of the hall. As soon as we entered, Alpha Nathan walked towards us with a grin on his face, steering along his Luna mate who had blonde hair and a petite figure. "Alpha Clause and Luna Fay, I see that you've arrived with your Beta."

"Yes, and a few warriors too. How are you and mate?" Alpha Clause replied to him as he smiled back at him, looking between Alpha Nathan and his mate.

"Hello, Alpha Nathan and Alpha Nathan's Luna mate." I responded with a smile on my lips.

He grinned as he nodded at both of us, "We're fine, Clause and Fay, this is my Luna mate, Kasey."

"Hey!" She greeted as she smiled politely at me.

"Hi, nice to meet you." I replied to her.

"Nice to meet you too." She replied just as she stepped away from Alpha Nathan and stepped closer to me, "Why don't I introduce you around to all the Luna? I'm sure that they will be delighted to see you."

I nodded, smiling gratefully as I replied, "Sure, thanks, Luna Kasey."

"Brittany, why don't you come with us too?" Luna Kasey suggested as she glanced behind me at Brittany.

I looked over at her, feeling surprised that Luna Kasey knew her name since she wasn't of a higher rank. I glanced back at her as I asked, "You know her? I thought only Alphas, Betas and Luna's with a few warriors are allowed here."

She nodded her head, "Yes, but she has always come here as Beta Connor' mate and that's how I know her."

I glanced back at Brittany and Beta Connor to notice that he looked nervous as he moved from one foot to the other. "Are you two dating or something?"

"No, we're ma-" Beta Connor started, but Brittany slapped his arm as she glared at him and said in a whisper, "I told you that we have to keep that a secret, besides, I already said no!"

I gasped as I realized what he meant and what they were talking about, "What?! You two are mates?!"

My shocked exclamation drew the attention of Alpha Clause and Alpha As they also looked a bit shocked. Brittany grimanced and nodded stifly as she answered me, "Yes, but I already rejected him."

"You said that you would give me a chance if I do as you say." Beta Connor said with a frown and she slapped him arm again with a deeper frown.

"Shush!" She exclaimed, looking very suspicious.

"What do you mean, do as she says?" Alpha Clause asked as he looked between the two of them with a frown on his brows.

"Nothing, Alpha." Beta Connor muttered which made Brittany look relieved.

"I'm asking you a question, Beta!" Alpha Clause commanded in his Alpha voice.

Beta Connor and Brittany straightened up their backs and looked alert as fear showed on their faces since they were his pack members. The Alpha command didn't affect me since I was Luna and his equal. Beta Connor let out a sigh as he answered him with the truth, glancing over at Brittany nervously who was glaring at him, "She said that she couldn't accept me as her mate because she wanted to be Luna and said that she would accept me once I make her your Luna."

Her promise didn't even make sense since it meant that she would cheat on Alpha Clause with Beta Connor which meant that he would be disloyal to his Alpha, therefore, his pack which could lead to his banishment from the pack. The frown on my Alpha Mate's brows deepened as he looked at Beta Connor with a disappointed look on his face, "So you were planning to separate me from my Luna mate? Just so because you think Brittany would accept you?"

Beta Connor hung his head as he looked ashamed, "I'm sorry, Alpha! I've let you down, please forgive me and I'll understand if you want to remove me as your Beta. I wasn't loyal enough, it's all my fault for letting my mate act this way!"

Alpha Clause let out a sigh as he rubbed a hand over his face, "I'm very disappointed in you, Beta Connor and even more disappointed in you, Brittany. What is wrong with you? Have you no respect for your Alpha and Luna? And didn't you promise not to try anything like this again?"
