And then I heard it.

That magical word. The one each of us deeply crave to hear... the word that will absurdly change our existence forever.

"Mate"

I turned around to face the sound of the voice and it was unreal. I blinked twice to make sure it wasn't a dream.

Mate!

Mate!!

Mate!!!

I shivered intensely and all my hairs stood up, while a warm sensation invaded me from the inside, like a fire that fed up directly off my soul. I slowly turned to face the most beautiful creature I had ever laid my eyes on.

And trust me when I say that I have seen a fair share of handsome men.

I took my time to savor the first time I was seeing the person that was made solely for me. Last night I couldn’t see him enough to my satisfaction but right now I was speechless from the sight in front of me.

He was huge. Massive. Alpha Rain was nothing in comparison, in both beauty and ferocity. In my dream I never expected him to be this beautiful not that I was complaining.

His shoulders were larger than mine and I could already imagine grabbing them in a certain situation... which I wished it could happen in this very moment.

I felt so aroused and needy. The majestic creature must have felt it too, judging by his sudden sniffing and change of eye color. Without breaking our stare, he walked towards us.

My dear goddess, his smell is so delicious! So tempting I could drool.

I shifted my gaze momentarily, the alpha eyes were already staring at me. The fight is long forgotten and some of the crowd departs while some remain to watch what would happen in curiosity. His expression was blank like we haven't met before and last night was only a fragment of my illusion.

Thank the stars my shin was dark enough you wouldn't see the flush or I had been a walking tomato. I bite my lips in nervousness my wolf yelling at me to go closer to my mate, but I made my face look cold like his.

"What's going on here," he said with a growl but to me, he said it with a husky voice that sent my hormones on fire. He was wearing a black suit and his shoes looked very expensive with his gold wristwatch attached to the wrist as it belongs there.

My eyes went higher past a clean shaved jaw, crooked nose and finally stopped at a pair of icy gray orbs on his beautiful face.

"What is it to you." I spat back annoyed after checking him out, here I was thinking if I saw my mate again we will practically run into each other having the best makeout session of our life.

"I'm the one asking the questions here, this is my pack, I am alpha Rain and I can get you locked up" He announce through clenched teeth.

He is an alpha?

He was Alpha Rain?

The man killed his parents when he was only sixteen without mercy and sold his soul to the devil.

I was paired with him, suddenly I wished I died rather than having the chance to meet in again. This explains his dude attitude last night.

But what I noticed was that i and my mate had so many things in common, we both killed while we were young and ruled.

"A match made in evil don't you think." My wolf said dreamingly.

"Do you know what I think? I think we are the perfect match made from hell." I said to my annoyance, couldn't see our mate was the worst kind of asshole there was.

"Yes. But that doesn't mean I have to answer," I state forcefully back. If he thinks I will bow down and kiss his fine ass just because he is my mate and also an alpha then he had another thing coming.

He take another step closer to me so I was forced to look up to him and meet eyes. "Answer me! What is your damn name?!" He growl using my Alpha voice, which thankfully didn't work on me. I'm an alpha too of course his stupid alpha voice couldn't work on me.

"Fuck you, I am an alpha too, so that stupid tone of yours doesn't work on me Alpha Rain" I spit back and his eyes widen for a split second, surprised that l was not affected by his Alpha aura. Even the guards had stepped away uncomfortably, but I held her ground and proceeded to curse him without even flinching.

Calling his name felt amazing and I saw goosebumps rise on his exposed skin. His name sounds like I have been calling it all my life, it felt so intimate me calling his name.

"You... are an Alpha “He stutters out, confusion written all over his face.

"Did I stutter pretty boy," I asked with confidence raising my eyebrows?

My mate came closer to me, my mouth close to my ear, and glare at me, my breathing a bit heavier as I try to keep myself calm

"you can be an Alpha darling, but wear the pants in the relationship so if I were you I will stop this nonsense and get a reality check ."

"Go now to my mansion we will discuss this later, my beta will show you the way." Rain said to me turning around to watch the guards pick Alpha Jaxon from the ground. He turned around back to me when he noticed I haven't moved a foot from my spot.

"Why are you still standing here staring at me like a clown Emerald? Do what I ask you to do, go to my room, spread your legs and wait for me on my bed. When I am done with these meetings that are meant for strong Alpha males like myself I will meet you ." He said in a dismissive tone like he was talking to a lower creature.

I let out an earth-shaking growl, my wolf was pissed at my mate for his words, just because she's in love with him doesn't mean she will tolerate his disrespect.

The growl sounded loud round the whole field causing a terrifying shiver in everyone present, and the remaining crowd who gathered around all disappeared.

"Oh know he didn't," my wolf said.

Oh yes, he did.
