Daisy's POV

I yawned as the mathematics teacher went on and on, calculating figures that I don't ever seem to understand, I was feeling sleepy already, I hated mathematics and I usually don't understand anything in it, I wish that the period will just be over already, I heaved a sigh of relief when the teacher finally gave us a take-home assignment and left the class just as the bell goes off, from the corner of my eyes, I saw Celine moving towards me and I quickly stood up from my seat and rushed outside, waving through the sea of bodies going outside for their lunch break,

I ignored Desiree's call to wait for her, she knows where to find me, right now, I have to avoid Celine at all costs, I had promised myself that I will avoid her as much as possible, besides, my head is pounding and it will do me no good if I come face to face with her, she will only cause trouble for me,

"Hey, why the rush, won't you wait for me?" Desiree asked, panting as she caught up with me, "you didn't even take your lunch bag with you, where are you rushing off to"

I hit my forehead with my palm dramatically, I had totally forgotten about my lunch bag in my rush to avoid Celine,

"Thanks, Desiree, I only wanted to avoid trouble," I said, collecting my lunch bag from her,

She stared at me, her gaze showing that she understood me, "Celine?" She asked and I nodded, she sighed, "for how long?"

I shrugged at her question, "for as long as I can", we soon found a corner at the back of the canteen and sat down,

"So, you are not even going to eat inside the canteen?" Desiree asked, sitting with me and bringing out her lunch box from her bag,

"I'm fine here, you can go in if you wish to"

"I can't leave you alone okay, you're my bestie" I smiled at her words, indeed she's my bestie, other than Penelope, I didn't know I could be friends with anyone but Desiree has always been with me and stood by me, despite when I am being bullied and I find myself more and more comfortable with her, we opened our lunch boxes and started eating, I was about to put my second spoon of rice into my mouth when his voice boomed,

"What are you doing here?" I jumped at his words, standing up, I whirled around to face him, my gaze quickly scanning behind him I'm search of Celine, who seem to always be his tail these days, I almost dropped with relief when I saw that he is with his friend, Derrick, I heard Desiree choked on her food and I knew she must have sighted her crush with Aires,

"I asked you a question" he repeated and I fidgeted a little before holding up my head and pushing out my flat chest, I don't have to tell me that I am hiding from Celine,

"I...I...felt like eating outside the canteen today, why? Have I committed an offense?" He raised a brow and studied me knowingly as if reading through my mind,

"You can spare me your lies" he nodded at Derrick, who came forward and handed her a flyer, curiously she collected it and stared at him to explain,

"My birthday is coming up during the summer holiday, I want you to be there, that's an order," he said and then turned to leave, pausing, he looked back at me, "and dress nicely", and then, he was gone.

I stood transfixed, did he just invite me to his birthday? "Someone should punch me" I murmured and without wasting time, Desiree pinched me on my arm and I screamed, "ouch"

"That means you're not dreaming," she said, taking the flyer from me to read it, I held my chest with my palm as if to keep my heart from jumping off,

"I can't believe this" I murmured, still dazed,

"I wish I am invited too, that way, I'll get to see Derrick during the summer holiday, oh, Daisy, I wish to be in your shoes right now"

"Don't wish that, being in my shoes is not the right place to be, I mean, how can I attend his birthday, I'll feel like an outsider over there, no, no, I can't risk it, besides, Celine will be there, she's his friend remember? There's no way he won't invite her",

"So what if she's there?" Desiree asked, staring at me in disbelief, "Aires invited you himself, it's his birthday, not hers, and do you think he would invite you and leave you feeling like an outsider?"

"Why did he invite me? We're not exactly friends", I asked in exasperation,

"Why don't you go and find out, maybe, he will profess his love for you, you never can tell," Desiree said, giggling and wearing a naughty look, I playfully jabbed her with my elbow, blushing at the prospect,

"You know that can never happen, you saw the way he stared at me in disgust the day he read my love letter, I shiver to anytime I think of that day"

"That does not mean that you will not attend his birthday party, do you know that your popularity in school will be top-notch when you do, I hope you'll still consider me your friend when you become a popular star of Greenville college "

"Of cause, you're my BFF okay"I replied, my mind already thinking of what to wear to the party, I want to impress him on that day, I smiled, just thinking about the possibility of him, falling in love with me after beholding me in my dress up.

Aires'POV

"How could you do that? I just saw you invite that thing to your birthday", Celine raved, walking behind me as I strode towards my class, she was already grating on my nerves, and referring to Daisy as 'thing' just went top-notch,

"That thing has a name, in case you're forgetting, her name is Daisy and she is your sister"

"Oh spare me, we both know how she became my sister, through scheming, and I see that she's doing the same with you, right now"

I took a deep breath! my patience is gradually wearing thin with her.

"Why don't you try to know her and you just might see that she has a nice heart and you'll both make good friends"

"She will become my friend when hell freezes over" I paused, just in front of my class and raised a brow at her, she sighed, probably realizing the fact that she wasn't getting anywhere with me with her accusations, and she placed a hand on my shoulder, "listen Aires, I am your friend and only want the best for you, Daisy will be the biggest mistake of your life, I know her better than you, she's just a scheming little witch"

"Celine!!!"

She rose her hands to the air, as if in surrender at my reprimand, "alright, I won't call her names but let me just tell you one more thing, she is not right for you, and sooner or later, you will realize that just know that I am here for you when you need someone " with that, she stomped off and I narrowed my eyes as I watched her walk away,

"Do you think there is some truth to what she is saying?" Derrick said, staring at me,

I shook my head, "don't tell me that you believe her, Daisy is the one I want to choose as my girl and Celine is just being jealous"

Derrick shrugged, "if you say so", we both walked into the class for the last lesson of the day.

Author's POV

Celine was fuming as she stomped away from Aires, how could he invite Daisy to his birthday party, she knows what he planned to do, he wants to officially propose that she become his girlfriend, she racked her brain for what to do, she cannot let that happen, Aires belongs to Celine and she alone, no one can take him away from her, she cannot lose to Daisy, never!!!

She smiled a little as a thought began to form in her head. On the day that he wants to make her his girlfriend would be the day that he would hate her the most, she would make sure of that.

She narrowed her eyes as she began scheming in her mind, Aires can never belong to any other, most especially Daisy, she, Celine will make sure of it.

"Daisy, your days are numbered, mark my words", she would orchestrate a plan that can never fail before the day of the birthday party.
