Daisy's POV

"Don't you think that you should be at home planning on how to upgrade your scores next session?" Celine asked, entering into my room unannounced, I rolled my eyes at her as if she cares about me,

We're already in the summer holiday and admittedly, my last result was not okay, I had failed in most of the subjects and I was told that with a result like that, getting into college would prove quite challenging, I have to perform exceptionally next session before I can think of going to college, of cause it bothers me and I do not need Celine's remainder to know that I have to read extra hard to do well in next session,

"I never knew you cared about me" I murmured mockingly at her and she wrinkled her nose,

"Ain't you such a slut? Insisting on going to Aires' birthday party, you think filth like you can attend?"

Oh, I see, so this is what the issue is, she does not want me to go to Aires birthday party, well, too bad because I have already decided to go,

"Well, sorry to burst your bubbles, he invited me and I shall honor his invitation"

"Keep being smug, one thing that I can assure you of is that, you'll regret going there", with that, she stormed out of my room, shutting the door with a bang that shook the hinges,

I gritted my teeth and sat right in front of my dresser, there was no way in hell will I allow her to ruin my mood, Aires had invited me and my mum had agreed that I should attend, after making me promise that I won't cause any trouble, she had even bought a nice dress for me, more like a princess gown, no doubt, Aires'eyes will pop out when he sees me in it,

"Do you need my help?" My mum asked, poking her head through the door,

"No mum, I got this, thanks for the dress, it's beautiful" her gaze looks unsure for a second, and then, she came into the room,

"Will you be okay?" She asked as she came closer to me, I frowned at her question,

"Of cause mum, I do not need you to dress me up, I'm not a kid anymore, I can even do my own makeup, you do not need to worry"

"I do not mean this" she replied, gesturing at me and my cloth, my frown deepened, "I mean will you be okay over there? You're not used to going out with those calibers of people that Celine told me about"

My heart sank at her words and at the same time, I feel infuriated, I know what Celine is trying to do, she is trying her possible best for me not to attend the party, although, I do not understand why she was so hell-bent on making sure that I do not attend the party but one thing is sure, the more she tries, the more I am resolved to attend,

"Of cause mum, I will be fine, I mean, Aires will be there"

My mum gazed at me knowingly, "do you trust him that much to take care of you?"

"I do not need a babysitter mum, I am fine and I can very well take care of myself"

"I'm just concerned, will you call me if anything goes wrong?"

A part of me wondered why she is being overly concerned about me and the other part of me is excited to see the mum that I have always known, but I do not want to hope too much, she might be this way only until her husband gets back, I shrugged off her concerns,

"Can I get dressed now? Aires will soon be here",

"Of cause, I'll leave you alone" I didn't even glance at her until I heard the door quietly shut, I sighed, I missed those days when my dad was still with us and we were all living as one big happy family, I used to talk about all my problems with her, but after dad left, everything changed, I and mum keep getting distant from each other, and here we are today, barely talking to each other, sighing, I started preparing myself for Aires birthday party.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, I had bragged that I can apply my own makeup but it wasn't as easy as it seems, I had cleaned and remade it several times before I decided to settle with this last one, no sooner have I finished when I heard the sound of a car outside, that must be Aires, I was almost giddy with excitement as I rushed out of my room but my excitement was dampened when I came out of my room and saw Celine, all dressed up and looking like a queen sitting on her throne, be makeup were perfectly done and I suddenly felt like plain Jane standing next to her, I wished she doesn't have to go with Aires.

Celine's eyes raked over me, she wore a glint in her eyes that I couldn't quite comprehend, knowing Celine, she must want to gloat and rub her looks to my face, but to my surprise, she just walked past me and I followed behind her, feeling more like a maid, trailing her royal majesty.

"You both look great," Aires said as soon as we got to his car, he held my gaze a fraction longer, was it my imagination that his eyes held a particular light in them?

"You look dashing as always" Celine complimented him, smiling dazzling at him, I wished I have even a fraction of her charms,

Indeed, he looks charming in his tuxedo, It was my first time seeing him all dressed up, not that he wasn't looking good before, he just looks exceptionally handsome today, his stormy grey eyes contrast sharply with the black colored tuxedo with red bow tie, opening his car door for us, I sat at the back of the car while Celine sat at the front with him, he soon got into the driver's seat and sped up.

Celine glanced in the rearview mirror at Daisy, she had to admit, Daisy was looking extremely beautiful, she did not fail to notice the light in Aires' eyes when he had stared at Daisy earlier, well, that will be for a while, after his birthday party tonight, she promises that he would never look at her the same way, rather, he would look at her with eyes full of hate, she smiled to herself when she thought of the deadly plans she had made, a well thought out plan that will rock the world of Daisy.
