Chapter 12: Chapter 12

The doorbell rings. “I got it!”

I scream hastily going down the stairs to the door blocking out the amused grins on my parents faces when I rush past them cozy together in the sitting room. His face lift up when he hear the door open a smirk on his handsome face. I smile.

“Hi.” He nods tucking a hand in his blue jean to get out his phone looking at it.

“You ready?” He ask.

I nod “Yeah.”

Already excited of what he has in plan for me today. He told me to trust him with my list and I stupidly did. I get to have the look of surprise every time he take me out. The breeze blow against me making my short flannel jumpsuit shift with the wind, feeling nervous I shout back in.

“Okay bye.” Before I could drag Austin away from the porch dads voice stops us.

“Hold it right there, young lady.” Oh no. I groan praying he doesn't embarrass me. Soon he appears behind me with mom.

“Good afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Whyte.” Mom smiles while dad made a gruff noise sizing Austin up.

“Rules young man, I don’t care what you think you are or who you are but so far as my baby is with you. You must abide by my rules. Get it.” Dad stern business voice says, I roll my eyes looking at mom with a pleading look but she smiles looking away to Austin.

“I want my baby back by 8pm nothing later or I’ll make sure to find a suitable prison room for you which will be your new home for a very long time. Understood.”

“Yes sir.” Austin gulps nodding. Dad smiles.

“Now you go have some fun.” He says as if he didn’t just threaten Austin seconds ago. I glare at him but he smiles pulling me close kissing my head.

Just as we sat in Austin car. “Your dad huh?” He faces me. I smile nervously.

“Yeah, he deserve the best dad of the year award.” Austin burst in chuckles at the comment. Well I’m happy because a second ago it was tense in here. I relax buckling myself in.

“You ready for today’s adventure?”

“Ready as ever.” I breathe out enjoying his presence with me. He kick start the ignition.

“You look beautiful by the way.” my head snap to him but his eyes stayed ahead driving as if he didn’t blurt out those words. Those longing yet dreadfully confusing words. Austin can be the most confusing boy I’ve ever met in my life.

Did he really say I look beautiful? I shake it off closing my eyes and relaxing, the smell of the car mix with his cologne, a perfect mix. I inhale loving it.

“I hope you don’t have any phobia for height?” He ask, I can feel his smile. I open my eyes looking at him inquisitively.

“Why?”

“Because you are in for an adrenaline jump.” My heart skip watching a mischievous smirk draw on his lips.

And he was right. An adrenaline jump from hundreds of feet high into the clear blue water. I look at him with an ‘are you crazy’ look. He laugh taking his tee off.

“I don’t have on a bikini, I can’t do it.” Hugging myself due to the wind blowing softly around us. Didn't know such a beautiful site is here.

“You have an underwear right?” I nod. “So use it. Why are girls all about ethics when it’s the same thing?” I roll my eyes not having the energy to argue with him. Boys will always be boys. They never see beyond black and white.

The sun did me no good by shining down on him like a demi god, his trouser came off, and I wish I can tell you the truth that I look away but that’s going to be a big fat lie. I couldn’t even look away if I tried. His black Calvin’s cling to him like a foreskin. His broad chest fill with firm abs and taut muscles. Whoa, is that a v line?

It's official. Austin is hot.

No wonder the girls in school are dying over him and here I am graced with such beautiful sight. He needs to be in a museum or locked away somewhere because this body is sin and I’m rethinking my decision from last night. Damn you Austin for being so hot. I lick my dry lips, chewing at it.

“You can stare all you want or take a picture but I’ll prefer if you join me down there.” His voice snapping me from my lewd thoughts. He run off the cliff shouting in excitement as he jumps off. In fright I run to the cliff edge watching the water splash as he went deep into the water. I held my breath waiting for him to come up scared of the possible imagination he hit a rock from the jump. Chewing at my lips he finally came up fist pumping the air with a loud whooping shout after what seemed like minutes to me. I breathed out not knowing what I would have done if he hadn't come up. Okay I can do this, I unbutton my jumpsuit taking off my boots and wrapping my hair in a bun.

“You can do this Mary-Vienne.” I encourage myself. Well there always is a time for a near death experience and I suppose mine is this jump. I held my breath, jump off, screaming so loud I hurt my ears landing deep into the water. I could see the surface from here, I tried swimming back up with the little energy left after that jump. A hand grab mine helping me up as I cough brushing my face repeatedly from the water blurring my vision.

“I got you Snoopy, I got you.” I feel his hand wrap around my waist bringing me closer to him as he stares down at me with a smirk just as we float. I blush swimming afloat with my hands. I look far ahead at the cliffs and back at him. I can't believe I did that.

“Didn’t think you had it in you.”

“Neither did I.” he quirks a brow before smiling.

His hair clings to his face and I had the sudden urge to brush it back. I refrain. Slowly he removes his hand from my waist and I hate to admit but I miss the feeling of his warmth touching my bare skin.

“You look beautiful when you blush.” He says brushing a wet strand from my face making my blush go a shade darker. He chuckles.

“So much for the bun.” I muse.

“Swim with me.” He swims away and I smile following after him.

We had so much fun swimming, playing and laughing in the water, he thought me swimming tricks until late in the afternoon we had to swim ashore going for our clothes up the cliffs. He turn his back to me just as I wore my jumpsuit. Didn’t know he can be such a gentle man. As we rode back home, a permanent smile sat comfortably on my face.

“You had fun today right?” Not taking my eyes off the road I nod.

“Yeah. Thanks.” He didn’t reply after that just kept driving till we got home. He help me down from his car, walking together in a comfortable silence till we got to my door. I turn to face him only to see he was already looking intensely at me.

“Thanks for today Austin. It was fun…” with you; but I didn’t have the courage to say it especially now I've decided to let go of my crush for him. He hums still looking down at me. “Okay, goodnight Austin.” I smile.

“Goodnight Snoopy, get some rest.” He says with an unreadable expression. I open my door and walk in, he stood there watching me till I closed the door still expressionless. What is with him? I wonder. Did he not have fun like I did?

“Did you have fun? How was it? Tell me about it.” Mom excited voice comes through.

“7:57pm. Hmm. That boy was listening. He’s a good boy, I can see that.” Dad said.

I look back at the door. If only he knew the bad boy his precious daughter is rolling with or just maybe he’s right. There can actually be a bit of good in Austin. Just because I can’t make him feel love doesn’t mean I can let this good side that Dad claims to be there fade away.
