Chapter 92: Chapter 92

Finally another month passed and it’s already three months since Ryan left. Those three months were really a hell to me. Sleepless nights, crying and missing him were the things I always got. Finally I’m going to say goodbye to all those bad things because Ryan is coming soon.

While I was sitting on the bench in the garden, I watched Noel playing with Raylie and unintentionally I smiled because he’s such a caring and loving brother. Ever since Raylie was born Noel started to act like a brother who cares about his sister more than anything. He didn’t even let her fall. I’m really thankful to Noel because he made my tasks easy by taking care of Raylie.

“Madam, you have guests” I heard uncle Haden’s voice and I looked up at him but his expression was something strange.

“I’ll go now” I smiled at him and stood up as I walked into the house. Then my blood turned cold as I saw the two men at the door. I slowly walked to them but my eyes were seeking for someone else.

“Madam,” They greeted me while removing their army caps that they were wearing. Suddenly my heart covered with something uneasy. I wanted to ask where’s him but I kept quiet because I wanted them to speak first.

“Madam, we’re here to pass a message to you” One of them spoke as he looked into my eyes. His eyes were sharp and there was no warmth. Not like Ryan. urgh.

“Sir got shot against his chest. We lost him” what? Horror took over my heart and my whole body began to shudder as I heard what he said. He’s not talking about Ryan right?

“Ryan?... where.. Is … he?” I found my voice trembling and I couldn’t even talk properly. Got shot against his chest? No impossible.. It’s not my Ryan.

“We lost him madam. Sir had this with him in our camp” My whole world collapsed and also my every hope and dream.

My throat began to hurt me because I’m forcing my cries back. I looked at the phone he was giving me and I slowly raised my trembling hand and took it. I looked at the phone and without realizing my teardrops fell on the screen of it. I bit my lip so hard and looked at the two men in front of me.

“When?” I asked. I’m not believing it. I don’t believe them. Ryan is coming back as he promised me.

“Yesterday night” Yesterday night? Oh.. I wiped my tears and looked at the phone in my hand. I tried to turn it on but I think it has turned off because of the low battery.

“He.. he said he would come back. He promised” I asked them as they looked down and hung their head low. Is he really gone? Not coming back?

“So where is his body?” I finally managed to ask but I won’t believe them until I see his body.

“He fell down from the cliff. He was leading us when this happened. Our men are bringing his body today” Why? Didn’t I ask him not to go? Why didn’t listen to me? How could he leave like that? I closed my eyes and covered my face in my palms as I started to sob.

“Mommy, are you crying?” I heard Noel’s voice and I quickly wiped my tears and looked at him. He was looking at me with a confused look and he was holding Raylie’s little hand.

Did he just leave me and these children? How dare he? He promised me that he would come soon but is this what I gained at the end? I didn’t realize it, but Noel has already come to me.

He looked up at me and smiled.

“Don’t cry mommy.” How am I going to stay without crying after I found that my husband is gone? Ryan.. you bastard. You lied. I felt angry towards him because of what he said.

“Madam, we’ll inform you when they arrived here with his body. Sorry for your loss. We’re taking our leave” They said as they turned to leave.

“Wait.. Where is Chris?” I asked them as they looked at me.

“He’s injured. He’s in the hospital” With that they left. How did something like this happen? Am I that unlucky?

“They say daddy is gone” I slowly said. I don’t know whether Noel could understand it or not but I didn’t know how to tell them that their daddy won’t come again. I’m not that strong.. I can’t make them cry too.

I wasn’t ready to let go of him. How could he just leave me like that?

“Where?” Noel asked me as I shook my head. I can’t tell them.. How? They are just small kids. I looked at Raylie and found she’s looking at me with her innocent eyes. She was confused and she didn’t even know what was happening and something had happened to her daddy.

“Far away. Noel.. Take care of Raylie for a while okay baby? I’m going out for a while. I’ll come soon.” I kissed both their foreheads and they nodded at me while smiling.

I went into the room and quickly changed and put the phone in my hand to the charge as I walked out of the room. I want to confirm this. I won’t believe it. He’s a strong man and he won’t leave like that while knowing we’re waiting for him.

I left the house and asked chauffeur to take me to the hospital. I knew which hospital Chris was staying so I went there. As I entered the ward I saw Amelia who was looking at Chris while wiping her tears. I waited for a while and then Amelia saw me. She smiled at me and I went to her as I looked at Chris. He was injured and his body was covered with bandages. His face was emotionless and his look that he had on his face made my heart clenched.

“Chris, where is he?” I asked as his eyes fell on me. He clenched his jaw and his eyes turned red. Why is he looking at me like this?

“Don’t look at me like that just tell me. Where is Ryan? Why is he not here with you?” I asked him. He shook his head and looked away from me.

“He’s gone”
