The room was all dim when I woke up again. I stood up to turn on the lights then I went to the bathroom to wash my face. Eliz whimpers in my head she wanted to see her mate.

We went back only to find Aaron in our bedroom. His head hung low with a whisky in his hand. "Aaron" he took a sip, "I think its time for you to know" he drinks again.

I move towards him but he ducks to the other side.

"He asks me to save you on that day" I became confused "what do you mean?" He sat down on the end of the bed rubbing his face with his hands before he took another gulp of whiskey down in one go.

"Eric, couldn't choose you because you weren't his pack members and nobody knows you were his Mate at the time," Aaron spoke before he took another swig.

"He beg me through the mindlink to save you from the hunters," I felt like crying, Eliz on the other hand whimper with sadness.

"That's why I came back for you, and contact Jay to help you out. Nobody knew as it was just between us Alphas. When your life was threatened by the hunters, he even proposed for you to be under my protection." Aaron pause and clutches at his heart, he looks as if to cry.

"I for one object to his idea, that's why I try my best not to be closer and forbid you from going anywhere in my pack. When he heard about the isolation part he hated me for it. I thought it wasn't my responsibility to look after you."

"so you never care for me," I felt myself on the brink of tears. Aaron got up and walk towards me which I took a step back. He pulls me into his arms.

"I do care, actually I think I'm falling for you but I wanted you to know the truth that Eric loves you too. He didn't neglect his duties as your mate," when he said that I cry.

"Shhh you need to talk to him, he doesn't have much time"

I sob out loudly couldn't believe all this time Eric was never the bad guy here. He loves me in his own way, I could feel Eliz drowning from loving and aching for our mate.

He may have mated someone else but at least he did care, and I kind of feel bad for all the bad things I said including the baby part.

I try to wipe off my tears "I think I need to talk to him, will you be okay with that," Aaron nod in agreement.

"He gave me you, even though his heart was with you. So why would I be mad at someone who gave me a great gift? You have every right to be with him, he's your mate. I mean we haven't quite figure about us. Maybe after this."

He hugs me tightly "he's been moved back here, in their allocated room," he then let go of me.

I went to Eric's room Aaron also has mentioned that Claire hasn't visited him yet apart from the hospital when he was brought in.

I try to breathe in and out before opening his door I saw him lying there on the bed not moving. I move and sat beside his bed, waiting for him to wake up.

He would have been a perfect mate if we have met under different circumstances yet fate has its other ways. I put my head on his bed before closing my eyes as I hold on to his hand.

Slowly my eyelid open, the first person I saw was Eric, he was staring back at me. His cheek turning red and his eyes widen in surprise that I caught him staring.

"Hey, did I" and he shook his head no weakly.

"How are you feeling?" I ask him

"better" I could see he was lying

"Eric" once when I gaze at him I couldn't control my tear slipping from my eyes.

"Thank you" for the first time he gave me the sincerest smile I could ever see and it warms my heart.
