ANDREW POV

“Do you really have a death wish?” I glared at him.

“I must say, she’s the sweetest and above all the perfect woman any man can ever wish for.”

“How dare you say those words right to my face about my wife?” I fumed.

I never expected this from Mikey. How could he try to get close to her when he knows she’s my wife?

“Why are you all worked up, man? You did make it clear she’s of no importance to you so I had to come in between and become friends with her.”

“Mikey, you’re really making me lose my cool right now. How could you get close to my wife in my absence? If you ain’t my buddy and cousin, I would have…” I stopped when his lips diverted into a grin.

“This really shows you care about her after all. But I see no reason why you should be this worried when she doesn’t mean anything to you or is there something you’re not telling me?”

“I don’t have anything to say to you.”

“Is that so?”

“I don’t care about her but as long as we’re both married, she still remains my wife and I don’t want any association with her, okay?”

“Come on buddy, you know that won’t be possible for me to do.” He chuckled.

“What do you mean by that?”

“I can’t just cut off ties with her just because you’re feeling jealous I might fall in love with her.”

“Mikey, if you’re here just to piss me then it won’t work. I really don’t have time for all this nonsense.”

“Is it really nonsense to you? I am leaving anyway. I just came to see you and also check up on Tia in her company.” He revealed, getting on his feet.

“You had better stay a few distances away from her since I am back.”

“Let's see about that. Are you going out by the way?” He asked all of a sudden.

“I have a business meeting at Broadway Wok but why do you ask and how did you know of my schedule.”

“I just guess that’s all. I will catch up with you later then.” He replied and made his way out of the office.

I really need to make him stay away from Tia or I will leave to regret it. I’m sure with the looks of things he’s already having a soft spot for her which might turn over to love.

TIA POV

I was in the office working on my laptop when a soft knock came on the door.

“Yes, come in.” I uttered without taking my eyes off the laptop.

“I can see you’re really working your butts off when you should be resting.” I heard Mike’s voice say as I looked up to see him standing at the door.

“Mike, I didn’t really know it was you. Why didn’t you tell me you’ll be showing up?”

“I just wanted it to be a surprise, you know? Also, I had to check up on my lost but found buddy who went into hiding.” He smiled and shut the door behind him before walking over to meet me.

I got on my feet and gave him a friendly hug before we both pulled away to take our seats.

“Why didn’t you call me to inform me of Andrew’s return last night?”

“I’m sorry about that. It did escape my mind.”

“That’s fine. I was thinking of taking you out for lunch if you’re not busy.”

“That will be so nice. You’re so thoughtful, Mike.”

“Remember you’re a special member in the family so you deserve all the love, sister-in-law.”

“I’m so honored, Mike.”

“Don’t count it as anything. We’re family after all and families are always there for one another.”

“That’s absolutely correct.” I smiled and round up the work on my laptop before packing up my bag

“I’m all set. Once we’re done having lunch, I think I will head home to rest.”

“That will be best. Shall we proceed?” He gestured the way to me as I walked front while he trailed behind as we both walked out of the office.

We got to a fancy restaurant and walked to our reserved table as he pulled out a chair for me to sit.

“Thanks.” I mouthed and took my seat while he did the same before a waiter walked up to us.

“Good afternoon and welcome to our restaurant.” He welcomed us, handing the menu to us.

“Tia, what would you like to have?” He asked.

“I really can’t pick. I’ll have what you will have.”

“Perfect. We’ll have two plates of Peking Styles Sesame Chicken and Combo 3 and a red wine.” Mike stated to the waiter as he left to get the other ready.

Few minutes later, the waiter came back with our order on a roller and placed the dishes on our table.

“Enjoy your meals.” He uttered after pouring out the wine into the glass cup.

“Shall we eat?” He urged me as I smiled

Minutes after having the meals we had a little chit chat and set to leave.

We were both heading out of the restaurant when we bumped into Andrew with two old men who looked like business men along with Frank who gave me a warm smile.

Andrew didn’t say a word to us but kept staring intensely at me which was making me feel uncomfortable.

Is he mad seeing Mike and I together? I didn’t expect we could run into each other in such situations like this.

“It’s good to see you again, buddy. Tia and I just came to have lunch here as well.” Mike smiled and grabbed my left hand.

“Let go so I can drop you off at the mansion.” He added as we both left them standing as Andrew was looking really pissed.

I just hope he isn’t thinking otherwise about Mike and I because there’s nothing going on between us. We’re just friends and nothing else.
