Chapter 384: Chapter 384 - 378: Because of the Man Leaning Down...

"Damn it!" Shi Dongyang looked up and pushed his sticky hair back, then turned to see Shi Su walking away without a care in the world. He quickly turned around and grabbed her arm: "Shi Su! Don’t be such a damn phony! Your father Shi Lingkang is now half a cripple, with no skills, no family, no backing, living in the capital eating and waiting to die, isn’t he damn well living off me?"

Shi Su forcefully tried to shake off his hand: "Whether Shi Lingkang lives or dies has nothing to do with me. If he dies, you can tell me, so I can buy some firecrackers for you to set off!"

"Heh, in the past two years in the capital, he has never stopped trying to atone and show off in front of Mr. Shi, like a dog craving another chance to inherit stock rights. Now you refuse to go back. Who knows if someday you’ll get a wire crossed in your brain and run back to the capital, wagging your tail and begging like your loser dad!"

So the reason Shi Dongyang was giving her trouble was because Shi Lingkang was secretly competing with him.

Shi Dongyang’s grip was strong, and Shi Su couldn’t shake it off, her temples throbbing with anger. She was too lazy to argue with him, and turned her eyes to the police booth on the street, seeking help with her gaze.

Sure enough, when she saw the police approaching, Shi Su glared at Shi Dongyang as if to warn him: "I don’t want to waste time arguing with you. If you have enough capability, hold on tight to what you’ve got. If you know you can’t handle it and are afraid I might come back to take your inheritance one day, that’s not my fault! I’ve never had anything to do with the Shi Family. If you insist on pushing me to want to come back and grab something, you can keep provoking me! Shi Dongyang, if I don’t have that skill, you’re guarding against me for nothing. If I do have that skill, you can’t stop me. With such a habit of always being unnecessarily argumentative, no wonder the Shi Family has fallen apart in just two years. Instead of wasting your time on me, a woman who hasn’t even stepped one foot into your business circle, you’d better learn the tricks of the trade in Hong Kong’s business circle, and the art of conducting business and knowing how to deal with people!"

"You might haven’t entered the business world, but your mistake is with the surname Shi, the mistake of being Shi Lingkang’s daughter, and the mistake of being discovered by Mr. Shi!" Shi Dongyang squeezed her wrist tightly and finally let her go as the police walked up, explaining a few words to the approaching officer.

The car Shi Su ordered just pulled up by the roadside. She quickly opened the door and got inside, looking down at the bright red marks on her wrist from the grip, and took out a disinfectant wipe to rub it several times.

Every time Shi Dongyang suddenly targeted her, it was definitely because he was scolded in front of Mr. Shi or received some other sort of stimulation. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so boring for no reason. He used so much strength just now that for a moment, she suspected he even wanted to throw her right into the middle of the road and have her die amongst the speeding traffic.

Was it the incident at the Zijin Flower Hotel that inspired him? Or had Mr. Shi made some recent moves that made Shi Dongyang wish she would disappear immediately?

Her mistake was in having the surname Shi, in being Shi Lingkang’s daughter.

Indeed.

She rarely agreed with that piece of trash’s words, but ever since more than twenty years ago, when she couldn’t even get a bowl of clean leftover food from the Shi Family, she already knew where she was wrong; she shouldn’t be surnamed Shi.

Shi Su stood outside the hospital room; inside was the warmth and sense of security she longed for.

But she couldn’t.

Actually, there was no need for her to go through this door anymore.

She could totally be as heartless and indifferent as she was two years ago, casually hire a hospital caregiver to take care of him, using her departure from the hospital as an opportunity to fly back to Jiang City directly.

But she didn’t do that.

Clearly unable to continue.

She also couldn’t step inside.

Yet somehow she still ended up back at the hospital.

After all, the newly bought soft pillow had to be brought over.

The nurses were coming and going through other wards, delivering things, and they noticed that she had been standing outside this ward door for quite a while, glancing at her again as they passed by.

Shi Su leaned her head against the door in front of her, closing her eyes, while a fierce internal struggle raged inside her. One side was pulling at her, urging her to leave and not go inside, while the other side was pushing her to hurry up and enter.

Suddenly, there was a sound from the door; someone inside was opening it.

Shi Su had no time to react, as her head had been resting on the door. Her whole body suddenly lost balance and fell forward in the direction the door was opening.

But she ended up falling into a man’s arms.

Jing Jihan raised his hand to catch her.

Shi Su was stunned for a moment by the familiar scent and medicinal odor around her nose. She quickly looked up, realizing she had fallen into Jing Jihan’s arms. When she saw the slightly haggard and pale face of the man up close, she quickly backed away and looked around in a rush, seeing no passing nurses or pedestrians who witnessed her awkward moment. She immediately stepped inside and shut the door.

She then turned her eyes to the man who had gotten out of bed: "Who told you to get out of bed? Didn’t the doctor tell you to rest? Isn’t the wound not supposed to be moved?"

Jing Jihan: "I heard some rustling noise outside the door for about ten minutes, thought there were mice in the hospital, so I came to check."

Shi Su twitched her mouth, saying nothing, just raised her hand intending to help him back to the hospital bed.

"What happened to your hand?"

Before she could step away, the man had already noticed the bluish-red mark on her wrist.

She quickly retracted her hand: "It’s nothing. Go back and lie down; it’s only been a day, and you’re already getting out of bed, think your body is made of iron?"

The man didn’t move.

He stood for a moment and calmly repeated, "What happened to your hand?"

"I accidentally hit it on the faucet while showering and changing at the hotel..."

He glanced at her: "The faucet left a circle of fingerprints?"

Shi Su: "..."

Damn it, Shi Dongyang, that piece of trash, squeezed her wrist so hard that the fingerprints were clearly visible in the circle of bluish-red marks.

Here’s hoping his hand rots tonight!

His foot rots!

His intestines rot!

Seeing that he didn’t move, Shi Su couldn’t forcibly drag him back to the bed now, in case the movements were too big and pulled at the wound.

She suddenly let go, looking annoyed: "Are you going or not?"

Jing Jihan glanced at her hand hanging at her side, the marks too obvious.

"If you’re not going, fine, I’m just right; I’m tired! I’ll sleep instead!" Shi Su simply ignored him, turned to the bed, sat down heavily, and pulled up the covers full of medicinal odors and his scent, lying down with her eyes closed as if to say that she, who hadn’t slept in a day and a night, would not let anyone drag her off this bed now.

Hearing Jing Jihan approaching, Shi Su kept her eyes closed and said, "If you think your injury isn’t serious, there’s a sofa over there. Make do with that. I’ve not slept since the incident. I’ll just first..."

Suddenly aware of the movement, Shi Su’s limbs stiffened suddenly. She opened her eyes wide instantly, trying to sit up, but was startled back by the man’s leaning motion.
