Chapter 86: Chapter 86

The claps of the employees were mixed with murmurs of confusion. As Jason stood up and curtsied to everyone, they couldn’t help but marvel at the Young Manager.

The most confused were the Arts Department’s employees who didn’t see it coming at all. They were taken aback to see their Manager climbing onto the board of the shareholders.

“Now owning ten percent shares in MystiArt Productions, Mr. Ju’an has proved himself to be a formidable Manager.” The MC added.

“If we can all recall well, Mr. Ju’an also joined this company not many years ago as a simple employee. Due to his hard work and perseverance though, he managed to surpass everyone in his level. From a simple Artist to an Assistant, then a Manager, Surely, Mr. Ju’an’s success is one to be reckoned with.”

The employees clapped harder, their eyes shining with admiration. It was common knowledge in MystiArt Productions of how ambitious and hardworking the Arts Department’s Manager was. Everyone thought he deserved the accolades.

“Becoming a shareholder is not an easy fit. Everyone should look up to Mr. Ju’an in this company. If every employee can be like him, MystiArt Production’s progress will definitely accelerate.”

The employees clapped again, nodding in agreement. But becoming a shareholder was even more difficult than vying to become a Manager in MystiArt Productions. No matter how hard they worked, even if it took many years, they didn’t think they could attain such a position in a short time like the Arts Department’s Manager.

Mr. Ju’an had extraordinary talent and they wondered how he did it. In the whole of MystiArt Productions, only a handful of the Managers were able to climb onto the board of shareholders. Even so, those were the managers who started out with the company when it was established. People like Mr. Song, Mr. Wang, and a few more older Managers were on the list.

The Arts Department Manager was very young too. The other shareholders could all give birth to him.

“Ah, Mrs. Ju’an, isn’t this an auspicious day. Mr. Ju’an is a fine man indeed. One would think he had been spending all his money on unnecessary things. I’m surprised that he saved that much to buy some shares in this company.”

“Mr. Ju’an is smart. From now on, I’ll see him in a different light. It is true that we should look up to him. If we can all be like Mr. Ju’an, our lives will become more useful.”

“Congratulations, Mrs. Ju’an. You weren’t meant to be a normal Manager’s wife. Now that your husband is a shareholder too, Mrs. Ju’an can enjoy the benefits of having a rich husband.”

Priscilla put on a haughty look while the employees were flattering her. She only smiled once at them before she continued admiring her nails. “There’s nothing money cannot achieve. Unless you have a lot of money, don’t even dream of copying my husband.”

“That’s not what we mean, Mrs. Ju’an.”

“Mr. Ju’an is already above us. No matter how hard we try, we cannot be as successful as him.”

“We can only admire Mr. Ju’an from a distance like an idol. Hehe, Mrs. Ju’an, as our idol’s wife, we also look up to you.”

From the stage, some of the Manager’s looked confused and some were happy. Among them was Mr. Song who instantly shot to his feet and shook hands with the Young Manager. “You deserve it, Mr. Ju’an. Your hard work has paid off.”

“Mr. Song will always be my teacher. Without your mindful advice, I wouldn’t have achieved so many things.”

“Hehe, you’re too humble, Mr. Ju’an.”

After Mr. Song went back to his seat, Mr. Wang came forward to give the guy a pat on the shoulder. “Remember, Son-in-law, this is just a fraction of the benefits. If you can make my daughter the happiest girl on earth, you can expect more. But if she’s unhappy…”

Mr. Wang spoke in a tone that only Jason could hear. The gentle smile on the guy’s face faded for a few seconds. Even though Mr. Wang didn’t complete his words, Jason understood the underlying meaning.

Sighing inside, he only nodded to Mr. Wang before going back to his seat.

Layla was so delighted from where she sat, also she was more than confused. The news of her brother climbing onto the shareholders’ board was like a massive surprise to her. The guy never spoke about it. Their parents shouldn’t be aware either, if not, their mother would have bragged it to the neighborhood.

“Annie, I don’t like the expression on Mr. Wang’s face.” The middle-aged man’s smile didn’t settle well with Layla.

Annie just smiled without looking away from her phone. As always, Layla couldn’t tell what she was thinking.

Seeing that Annie did not even clap, she attributed it to the feud between the girl and the newlywed couple.

She thought it best not to speak about her brother anymore, lest, she broke Annie’s heart father. But the employees sitting beside them couldn’t hold back their blabbermouths.

“I wonder how Ms. Lin must be feeling right now.”

“If I was her, I would just run to the company’s rooftop and jump to my death. Imagine if it was Ms. Lin who got to marry Mr. Ju’an.”

“Wouldn’t she be the happiest girl right now? With this new wealth, they’ll forever live comfortably even if she decides not to work anymore.”

“I’ve heard that the shareholders receive a lot of money at the end of the month. In MystiArt Productions, even someone with just one percent share is literally sleeping on money.”

Layla sighed helplessly. “You girls really don’t have anything important to do. Isn’t it your types that push other people to their death?”

Instead of shutting their mouths, they were saying words to break Annie’s heart further. Layla could tell they were doing it intentionally.

“Don’t listen to them, Annie. It’s not like my brother is the richest man on earth, right?”

“What are they talking about?” Annie looked up from her phone and smirked.

The girls gave her bewildered looks. This girl was acting unaffected again. When in the world would they finally see her break down?

“That’s my goddess.” Layla gave Annie a thumbs-up. “Just treat them like air.”

“Attention, Everyone.” The MC was back on the stage again. “Enough jubilating about Mr. Ju’an. We all know he is an exemplary man. But we must move on with the ceremony, right?”

The hall quietened down.

“Good! Now that I have all your attention, it is time for me to hand over the stage to the CEO. Everyone would love to hear what Mr. Lim’s view is, regarding MystiArt Productions’ infrastructure.”

Claps and whistles erupted again and the MC was flustered.
