Chapter 87: Chapter 87

It became more difficult for the MC to coordinate the crowd this time. The employees were in an uproar when they heard that the CEO would speak. With excited looks on their faces, they kept hyping up the atmosphere.

“Everyone, please. Calm down!!!” The MC even increased the speaker’s volume but the claps only got louder.

“Time is not by our side. Let’s start with what brought us here. Please allow the CEO to begin speaking.” His voice faded under the jubilation and the speaker echoed with his sigh.

Assistant Jiang wished he could take the speaker and control the crowd, seeing the look on his Boss’s face. Yet, what if the crowd swallowed him up? The employees had all gone crazy, especially the females.

Until now, Assistant Jiang had never seen a girl whistle so loudly before, and that made him cringe.

Helplessly, the MC looked at the CEO. The managers were also flustered and they wondered if the conference would even continue. Surely, the CEO was a sight to behold, and the employees were turning the conference into a fandom.

“That’s enough!”

Out of nowhere, the man’s voice resounded in the hall. Like the most sensual music, his deep voice went straight to the employees’ hearts.

Some shrieked and some fanned themselves. Ah! The CEO also possessed such a sexy voice. Were they done for?

During the last conference, the CEO didn’t even speak, all because he had been staring in a particular direction at that time as if under a spell. He didn’t even spend more than five minutes on the stage that day. After he was introduced, he simply left, leaving everyone speechless.

So now that they were just hearing his voice for the first time, the employees weren’t themselves.

“Unless you want this conference to be canceled, I want you all to be silent.”

The man’s voice came again, so calm and clear. The employees were once more love-struck, before recovering from the spell. Ah! They weren’t acting professionally, all because of their excitement.

After the CEO’s last statement, the hall began sinking into a deep silence. Since the company was established, a general conference had never been canceled. And they didn’t know the repercussions waiting for them if this one was suddenly canceled.

How could they bear the consequences?

“Regarding MystiArt Productions infrastructure.” The man went to the point, his narrowed eyes sweeping across the crowd. “In my view, it is very bad.”

His last words were like thunder and lightning to the employees’ ears. Gasps spread and tiny whispers started.

Even the former CEO who was sitting with the shareholders frowned a bit. And the Managers were flabbergasted.

“MystiArt Productions is an entertainment company. However, you have all forgotten that it is one aspect of the entertainment industry.”

That was right. MystiArt Production’s sole purpose was to produce the best comics in the country. Additionally, it collaborated with other companies as well.

The employees were confused about what the CEO was aiming at. And now that he had fully captured their attention with his first statement, they all stared at him eagerly, anticipating to hear the reason why he said that.

“First of all, MystiArt Productions is biting off more than it can chew. It collaborates with the movie-producing companies. It also focuses on more than one niche of comic production. Apart from that, it joins hands with toy-making companies. Yet, MystiArt Productions has not achieved any remarkable progress in the long run. Its success can be said to be on par with the other companies that are not even trying as much. Tell me, does that make sense?”

Ah! Seriously, It didn’t make sense.

The hall echoed with the employees’ murmurs of agreement. They never thought about this before until the CEO brought it up now.

Yes, MystiArt Productions took on the heavy load, working harder than any other comic-producing company. That didn’t make MystiArt Production outshine them, especially in wealth though. Weren’t they wasting resources then?

“The only progress MystiArt Production made is being more popular due to having hands in a lot of businesses. But popularity without financial benefits is likely to being ignorant on how to utilize its connections to its advantage.”

The employees clapped this time. As the CEO enlightened them, they began to feel useless. They were being under-appreciated for many years, and they didn’t even know.

If MystiArt Productions had been using the correct infrastructure, wouldn’t it have been the king of the entertainment industry now?

Maybe they should let go of those niches and only focus on one or two, just like Megaworld Entertainment, DazzlingArts Enterprises, or even HQ Entertainment Corp.

“It is time to bring this to an end and give MystiArt Productions the accolade it deserves.” The CEO went on as if hearing the employees’ thoughts.

Still, the employees were surprised at what he said next.

“MystiArt Productions will not let go of any of those niches. It is already ahead of its competitors by making a lot of connections. What MystiArt Productions needs right now is an expansion of its management. The final decision will be announced after the board meeting. However, expect the company to hire more employees soon and open more positions.”

The clap was deafening this time, engulfing the whole hall. The Shareholders, the Managers, and the Employees were all satisfied with the CEO’s proposition.

Mr. Wu, who was the former CEO, had felt uncomfortable at first when the man said the infrastructure was bad. But the CEO himself said they wouldn’t let go of those niches, meaning his strategy in the past wasn’t a bad one.

All the company needed now was an expansion of its manpower. Everyone could surely foresee an even brighter future for MystiArt Productions.

“Old Wu.” Mr. Wang was sitting beside him and he gave him a nudge. “I hope you haven’t forgotten about our deal.”

“Calm down, Old Wang. The Conference hasn’t ended.”

Annie’s attention was on the stage, watching the man intently. In her eyes was a small smile. One could tell the girl was pleased. But that expression only lasted for some seconds, as a small frown made its way to her face.

Slowly, she stood up and left.

Except for the man on the stage, no one noticed the girl’s disappearance. Not even Layla who was so entranced in admiring the CEO’s looks.
