Chapter 69: Chapter 69

Inside the Manager’s Office…

Jason was sitting on his desk when Priscilla barged in with an angry look. With pursed lips, she sank onto the couch and folded her hands. “Honey! Can you believe it? Layla is looking down on me. She wants to disgrace me in front of the employees.”

Jason, who was a bit startled by her outburst, took a while before he spoke. He had been watching the surveillance, and although he couldn’t hear what they were saying, he could see that an argument was going on between the two. Especially reading Priscilla’s expression.

“Hey, relax. I’ll speak to her,” He said gently.

Some of Priscilla’s anger wore off and she stood up from the couch. “It’s just that I don’t want people to see me as the bad person, Honey. If Layla keeps treating me as her enemy, won’t others laugh at us?”

Jason did not reply. He was still looking at the surveillance coverage. Priscilla’s eyes followed his gaze. He was staring at no one but that girl.

“Honey!” She dragged his attention. “I don’t want her to hang out with bad people, especially that girl. Will you want to see us fighting as a family?”

“Be good, Priscilla. Layla won’t give you any trouble.” Jason finally looked away from the coverage. He turned off the surveillance and gave her his full attention.

Priscilla adjusted herself on his chair, sitting on the armrest. “Honey, remember that girl isn’t worthy of your thoughts. While she played with your feelings, I gave you my whole heart. You aren’t going to disappoint me, right?”

Although Priscilla knew their wedding only happened because her father got involved, she pretended as if Jason chose her over Annie because she confessed her feelings for him.

Jason looked distracted but he nodded to her words. “Don’t work yourself up, Priscilla. Annie is a closed chapter.”

Hearing that, Priscilla was more delighted. Her eyes sparkled and she got down from the chair. “That is a promise. You won’t go back on your words.”

Jason nodded.

“You must also know that you won’t look at any other girl apart from me. After all, I am now your wife.”

Priscilla didn’t fail to remind him that every day, even if she was talking playfully. She was already satisfied after they got married. Although she had a feeling that he didn’t love her as much as she loved him, at least, they would be together. The only thing she hated the most was another girl stepping in her way.

Annie was a big threat. That girl was so full of herself. What if she seduced her way back into Jason’s life?

Yesterday, Priscilla had an inkling that her husband had seen that girl when he made an excuse to go out of the department. Otherwise, why would he take so long to return?

She picked up her bag from the desk and was about to leave the office when Jason stopped her.

“Where are you going?” Jason’s brows furrowed.

“Oh, I want to say hello to Dad. Remember I haven’t seen him since we returned.” She was so angry yesterday that she didn’t even think about her father. However, Priscilla also had an important thing to tell her father.

“We could go and see him together after work,” Jason suggested. “You’re supposed to be working now in your cubicle, Priscilla.”

“Urgh! Work is boring.” Priscilla rolled her eyes before smiling sweetly. “Don’t worry, Honey. I’ll be fast.”

With that said, she blew him a kiss and sauntered out of the office. The man couldn’t help but sigh.

.

On her way to the Innovation Department, Priscilla held her head high as she walked past many employees.

Her ears didn’t miss their gossip. Some were staring at her in shock while most of them gave her fearful looks. One girl almost bumped into her, but she quickly apologized and ran out of her way.

“Hmph!” Priscilla scoffed and entered her father’s office

Mr. Wang was surprised to see his daughter. The man was so happy that he sprang out of his chair. However, his happiness washed away when he saw his daughter’s expression.

“Dad! Can you believe it?” Before Mr. Wang could ask what was wrong with her, Priscilla started complaining. “I just came back from my Honeymoon but I can’t even have peace with my husband!”

“My Princess, please calm down.” Mr. Wang quickly pulled out a chair for her. “Who dared look for your trouble?”

“Remember that girl, Dad?” Priscilla pouted.

Mr. Wang didn’t know which girl his daughter was speaking about. While he waited for the girl to continue speaking, he picked up a document and started fanning her with it.

“That girl that was supposed to marry Jason. She’s out there trying to destroy my marriage. I can’t stand her, Dad. You must do something about her.”

“Eh? You mean that girl?” Mr. Wang paused. How could he not remember that little girl? Mr. Wang also held a grudge against her since the day the girl challenged his department during the conference.

One more thing. The girl had an extraordinary beauty. Even if one only saw her once, her face would be embedded in that person’s mind forever.

“I thought I wouldn’t meet her in this company after we returned. Dad! Why didn’t you fire her?”

“Please relax, Princess.” Mr. Wang sat on the chair beside her. “Forgive me for overlooking such a matter. However, firing an employee is not an easy task. As you can see, she holds an important position.”

“Well, I want her to stop being Jason’s assistant. Don’t you think I’m more deserving of that position?”

“You’re right! You’re right. As his wife, you can’t be a simple employee. No one else should be above you in that department except your husband.”

Priscilla wiped her fake tears and looked up. The girl looked so pitiful that Mr. Wang’s heart twisted in pain.

His poor daughter. Mr. Wang was blaming himself again. If his princess couldn’t find happiness, how could he live with himself?

If only he could fire that girl.

“So when are you going to fire her, Dad?” Priscilla sniffled. “Tell me when I’ll finally stop seeing her.”
