Chapter 70: Chapter 70

Mr. Wang was lost at what to say. Firing that girl?

Some months ago, he had heard rumors about that girl and the CEO. Mr. Wang had also seen how the CEO interacted with her during the conference. The day the CEO assumed his position, Mr. Wang was also there and he had seen how the CEO’s eyes never left her.

Although the man’s prediction that the girl might have a connection with the CEO went away when he later found out that she was the one his son-in-law was about to marry, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that that girl was not ordinary. What if something occurred from the CEO’s side?

Mr. Wang was a fearless man. However, he was a bit wary of the new CEO.

Looking at his pitiful daughter, Mr. Wang’s heart twisted again. He feared that if he told her what he was thinking, he would only break his princess’s heart further.

So after contemplating, the man patted her shoulder and said softly. “Don’t worry, My Dear. I will know what to do about that girl.”

“Please make it fast, Dad!” Priscilla kept on wiping her tears. “If my marriage gets on the rocks, I won’t blame anyone but you.”

“Ah, don’t say that, Dear. Since when have I ever disappointed you?” Mr. Wang reassured her. At least, he should do something about that girl that would make his daughter happy.

“Before I forget, didn’t you promise that both departments will be merged after we get married? Why are there no changes yet?” Priscilla asked.

The girl’s expression was finally relaxed after hearing her father’s assurance. Then, she thought this was a good time to bring up the matter. “Didn’t Uncle Wu promise that he’ll speak with the CEO?”

“Right now, the CEO has traveled, Dear,” Mr. Wang said. “Don’t worry. Once he comes back, the merging will surely happen.”

After his daughter left, Mr. Wang didn’t sit down. He paced for some time in his office, before bringing out his phone.

He only made up what he told his daughter because he was aware the CEO had traveled. He needed to confirm if Old Wu wasn’t just bluffing when he promised that the merging would happen.

“You finally remembered me, Old Wang. What do you need this time?” Mr. Wu was relaxing in a jacuzzi when his friend’s call came in.

“Haha, how could you say that, Old Wu? You know I am a busy person. Unlike you who had the freedom to retire, I must work my butt off to fend for my family. At least, before I resign from my position.”

“You are right.” Mr. Wu chuckled.

“By the way, I wanted to ask you something.” Mr. Wang went to the point. “How far about the merging of the departments, Old Wu? The CEO seemed reluctant the last time. Are you sure it is going to happen?”

“Eh? Are you doubting my words, Old Wang?” Mr. Wu laughed again. “As I have told you, that boy is a family friend. I only need to say a word and he will follow my orders.”

Mr. Wang’s heart relaxed and he smiled. “That is great. That is great. I look forward to seeing improvements soon.”

“When he comes back, the merging will happen indeed.”

While Mr. Wu reassured him, Mr. Wang grew more confident in his friend. “How can I ever survive in this world without you, Old Wu? You are doing a lot for me.”

“Haha, forget the formality. What else do you want this Old Man to do for you?” As if knowing that Mr. Wang was going to request something else, Mr. Wu threw the question at him. After all, they had been friends since childhood. He always knew when his friend wanted something from him.

“Hehe, since you’ve said that. I have a tiny request to ask of you.” Mr. Wang finally sat on his chair. “There’s an employee in this company who is bothering my daughter. Right now, she is working as my son-in-law’s assistant. I want Old Wu to do something about her.”

“Do you want me to fire her?”

“Ha, no no.” Mr. Wang shook his head. “Demoting her will do. Old Wu, I’m not that vicious.”

Mr. Wu only laughed in reply before ending the call. Was Old Wang trying to fool him? The man was reluctant to have him fire an employee. Who is that girl?

Mr. Wu did not drop his phone. After hanging up, he scrolled down the contacts list on his phone and dialed a number.

After two rings, the call was answered from the other end.

“Is this Mr. Zhang?” He asked.

Mr. Zhang was flabbergasted to receive a call from the former CEO. The man couldn’t speak for a few seconds. “Erm, Y-Yes, you are speaking with him. Mr. Wu, How may I help you?”

“Find out about the girl bothering Old Wu’s daughter. At least, remove her from her position.” Mr. Wu only uttered a simple command before cutting the call.

Mr. Zhang was already sweating. He didn’t expect those to be the only words Mr. Wu would say to him.

While the man was the CEO, he was strict and cunning. Mr. Zhang had almost gotten into his bad books. Now that he was no longer the CEO, rumors had it that he still had power in the company.

What happened to his precious beloved Annie was still fresh in his mind. Mr. Zhang had heard that Mr. Wu had a hand in the reason why the Arts Department’s Manager married Mr. Wang’s daughter instead.

Quickly, Mr. Zhang made a call to one of his employees whom he knew was one of the top gossip mongers in the company. The guy was very popular on the company’s forum.

Mr. Zhang asked him to find out about the girl who might be bothering Mr. Wang’s daughter in MystiArt Productions. Before five minutes, the guy called him back.

When he told Mr. Zhang who that girl was, the man’s eyes bulged out and he almost fell off his chair.
