Chapter 151: Chapter 151
One wouldn’t be surprised that everything that transpired inside the meeting room was being recorded by the secret journalists and was aired on the company’s forum before the meeting was even over.
:::MystiArt Productions’ Reputation Is Still At Risk. The Issue Was Escalated And A Damsel Got Herself In Trouble.
“Please elaborate. What happened? Weren’t the cheaters apprehended?”
“It will be dangerous to expose everything here. Keep an eye out for the emperor.”
“Then who is that damsel? How was the issue elaborated? If you’ll keep us in suspense, don’t post such things here.”
“Everyone knows the damsel. Today, the meeting room was a battlefield of wits. The former CEO and his ally insisted on immediate retribution, the damsel chipped in, and the matter was prolonged.”
“Ah! Isn’t she gutsy?”
“Why does the damsel seem to be too brazen for her own good? It’s obvious she keeps getting in and out of the traps.”
“I think what you should ask is; Why did the emperor protect the damsel? She was fired on the spot and recruited immediately.”
“Anyways, the IT Department is no less than a graveyard. The cheater is in the ER and the assistant wants justice.”
“Haha! Isn’t she too bold? How dare she even show her face?”
“The dainty girls are the most dangerous. Who knew something was going on between the two? Wasn’t everyone suspicious that they were always together?”
“I just want to set eyes on her and I’ll rip her hair out! She better stay away from MystiArt Productions.”
“MystiArt Productions does not tolerate such employees. Mr. Yang deserves to be flogged to death and that little slut must suffer in shame.”
“I don’t think she will dare step foot in MystiArt Productions. Unless she is asking for her own end.”
“Can you believe how cunning she was? It was said that she coerced the damsel into her trouble.”
“How?”
“She literally forced the damsel to believe in her. After that, the damsel got into trouble.”
“So that’s what happened? It wasn’t the damsel’s fault then?”
“You’re right. So she can be termed lucky by being bailed out by the CEO on the spot. But now, she has to stick with the little slut and help her do some investigation.”
“That’s outrageous. She should stay away from that little slut.”
…
“Mr. Lim, you did that on purpose didn’t you?”
In the parking lot of the company, Annie was sitting inside the man’s car. With his head resting back on the seat’s header, his eyes were closed as if he were sleeping.
“You should be happy, shouldn’t you?” The man answered her with his own question. He opened his eyes and stared at her. “Weren’t you standing there like a statue? I thought making you useful would be good for you.”
Annie shook her head, laughing softly. She wasn’t that surprised and she didn’t pretend she was.
If the man had been silent while Mr. Wang and Mr. Wu let their mouths run freely, who said he wasn’t displeased by their actions?
He just wanted to watch everything unfold. He didn’t need to be told what was going on. And no one needed to point out the real culprits to him.
“Mr. Lim, I didn’t know why I should have a connection with Mr. Yang’s case. I also thought you said my battles are only for me. Why didn’t you take the wrongdoers down yourself? After all, you are the CEO and you call the shots.”
“There’s a lot of things you don’t know, Annie.” Andrew looked at her. “Just take this as a favor from me. You have the chance to get those flies off your back. If you slack off, don’t look forward to my help.”
Literally, the man had intentionally pushed her into this. Everything he did in the meeting room was intentional. Annie could remember him urging her to talk. Even though she didn’t have anything to do with the case, he wanted to hear her opinion.
Was Mr. Yang’s assistant telling the truth when she said Mr. Yang helped her? Was it from Mr. Wang and Mr. Wu?
Annie didn’t waste time to put two and two together, and she sighed. Truly, those men were cunning.
“I could thank Mr. Lim for having my back. However, I must let you know that I’m not a detective.”
“Who said I need your gratitude?” A tiny smile formed in his eyes, an almost mischievous one. “Annie, can’t you realize I’m using you?”
“If I could realize that you intentionally prolonged the case so I could get involved in it, how could I not also realize that Mr. Lim wants to use me to get rid of those flies?”
“So It’s a win-win for both of us,” Annie went on. “By helping Mr. Yang out and exposing the culprits, you’ll be able to fish out the bad eggs in MystiArt Productions. In return, I’ll have justice for all the things they’ve done to me.”
“You’re not dumb, Annie.”
Annie shook her head and made herself comfortable in the backseat. She closed her eyes and said, “Mr. Lim, this is an easy battle if you stand up for Mr. Yang instead.”
“If you don’t want to, I’ll exclude you from the case. Then you can keep being a coward.”
“Who said I don’t want to?” Annie opened one eye, chuckling. “Mr. Lim, you gave me a free ticket to expose those who have constantly wronged me. If there’s an opportunity to get justice for myself, why won’t I grab it?”
“Drive.” Instead of answering her, the man instructed the driver who had been waiting for his order.
As the car drove out of the parking lot, he grabbed her by the waist, pressing her close to his body.
“While you are Mrs. Lim, act like one, Annie. If someone strikes you once, I expect you to strike them twice.”
Annie looked at him for a long time. There were complex emotions in the girl’s eyes. However, the man didn’t notice it because his eyes were now closed as if he was taking a nap.
A subtle sigh left her lips and she rested her head against his shoulder.
