Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Chapter Six

Sonya

Sonya watched with her hands crossed on her chest with a straight spine as everyone goes down from their seats.

She then glanced at her Professor who stood frozen then Sonya turned to students. Sonya looked straight into the eyes of Shane.

She walked to him with bag swinging on one shoulder. She bent down a little "Need help? No?" when Shane didn't move.

"Guess we all are going to be study from the floor."

Sonya remembered how she walked to school at night covered in clothes that made her look fat and shoes that made her look a little taller.

How she left opened the side window of her class which more or less looked closed. No one paid attention that it wasn't completely closed.

Sonya climbed the pipeline entered and screw with everyone's table including her professor's. She didn't want anyone to think that someone had targeted only student chairs.

It's weird but no security was there when she entered this school. She didn't turn on the lights and worked on everyone's chair for a while.

In a class of 24 students she only left two chairs because she was running out of time when she saw that everyone in that basketball court began to pack up their things.

She almost ran into a security guard but she hid behind a tree. She heard that security guard curse who turned into the direction he came from. She came back with back door.

She handled some problems in hopping on and off the back wall but she managed. Although lock problem that came out of nowhere, was not planned. When she came back home she slept thinking she could go to jail for this.

Finally she ended up convincing herself that she's been a good student throughout her life. Everyone deserves a chance to mess up a little. If she had to, she will go to jail. Anything for her ego.

Shane looked Sonya with disgust and hatred. Sonya found it oddly satisfying.

"You will go to jail for this." Shane told Sonya. Sonya faked innocence "Jail? For what? I didn't do anything."

"Oh, you will." Shane replied standing up. Shane helped his friends.

"We'll find evidence for this." Shane friends came to his side. One of his friends said "She did this?" Anger radiating from him. Sonya stood still unwavering.

She looked at him. He took a step towards her but Shane puts his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Alex don't." Sonya was scared but by the look of her no one can really tell. Sonya turned her back and walked to the front.

"Good luck with that." Sonya said. Professor Kristy helped students to their feet. Principal arrived at the same time.

Sonya stood in silence in a side where other students were gathering. Sonya saw that he and his friends were looking at her.

However, there was one guy who seemed to amused by Sonya. His eyes were twinkling. Sonya turned her face away. Kids were whispering about Sonya.

Principal talked to Prof. Kristy and turned to students.

"Do anyone have any idea who did this?" Prof. Kristy asked.

"I think Sonya done this." Some kid spoke. Principal and Prof. Kristy turned to look at Sonya.

"I have no idea what they are talking about professor." Sonya replied.

"Why did you say that?" Professor asked to that kid.

"Because yesterday, her bench was broken. She probably thought that someone did it on purpose. She tried to take revenge from whole class."

Professor and Principal both looked unconvinced.

"Why would she think that?" Principal asked. Shane could not afford to get into trouble. Shane did not want anything to do with this problem or that incident. So he interrupted.

"It's nothing like that professor. Someone broke that new student's bench too, yesterday, but I guess he left in a hurry since two of these benches are still okay. I think we should check in camera's footage. It might have captured him." Suddenly Shane realise that cameras didn't work here. Crap! How can he forget that. But Cameras outside this place still worked.

"Ms. Allison and Mr. Smith please come and join me in my office. We already made a call to the police."

"Oh crap." Shane thought.

"Oh shit." Sonya thought.

Sonya and Shane followed their principal. They entered his office. There were two police officers sitting. Principal Mr. Davis took his seat.

"So tell us happened?" one of the police officers asked them. Sonya and Shane made eye contact. Sonya spoke first.

"Yesterday someone broke my desk. I don't know who. I just came to this place and don't have any knowledge regarding this matter.

Apart from this, I went straight home from school yesterday and didn't even know something like this has happened. I don't even know what's going on."

Shane looked at Sonya with disbelief. She lied with such confidence. Mr. Davis asked Shane to explain. Shane said "I don't know Mr. Davis. Did you checked the camera footage?"

Mr. Davis was about to answer when one of the cops spoke.

"Yes we did. We found that in a footage you went in upper corridor. It's unfortunate that we don't have any working cameras up there so we couldn't find what you did.

Then in yesterday's footage we saw a figure, covered completely with clothes, leaving from the back door." They showed both of them the footage. Sonya watched intently.

She was relieved when she wasn't able to recognise her face in that small part of video. Still she was scared.

Shane turned to cops and said

"Bathroom lights were not working at that time. So I went upstairs to use the toilet. You can ask anyone." Mr. Davis waved a hand.

"There's no need for that. Can any of you identify this figure?" Sonya looked at Shane. Yup, he looked like he was enjoying this.

"No professor, I have no idea." Shane was no fool. He knows he doesn't have any way to prove she was Sonya. That figure didn't seem like Sonya's.

Only when he looked at her and saw her looking at the footage he saw her fear. Also she seems relieved when that figure did not revealed face anywhere.

"Alright, both of you can go back. Cameras will be fixed by tomorrow and we'll do something about your benches. You both are dismissed." Mr. Davis said. As both of them started walking towards the door Mr. Davis stopped Sonya but Shane also stopped at the voice.

"Sonya, I hope no one is bullying you. We have strict rules against it." Sonya looked at Shane then back to the principal.

"No professor, nobody tried to bully me. I will report if I ever happen to witness it. Thank you for your advice." Mr. Davis nodded

"No worries, just let me know." Shane and Sonya walked out simultaneously and started walking towards their next classes.

"Well played." Shane said.

"You too but it doesn't mean I like you." Sonya said.

"Nobody's asking you to like me. I only see you with disgust." Shane replied.

"And I only see you with hatred and disgust." Sonya said.

"Whatever." Shane said.

"Yeah whatever." Sonya said.

Shane

They both went their own way. Shane filled every detail to his friends. "Wow, she's a badass." Michael said.

"Yeah, a bitch but still a badass." Liam said.

"Whatever. Who is coming to my house to play the new game I bought?" Noah asked?

"We all are coming dude. What did you think?"

"I can't come today. I have to help my dad in his garage. He'll be pissed if I won't help him today." Shane said.

"Want us to come and help you?" Noah asked.

"Na dude, I'll handle it. Thanks for asking though.

" Alright, tell us if you need any help."

"Okay." Shane replied.

Sonya

Sonya thanked god again for saving her. Rest of the school went the way it should. During lunch a girl from her class came to Sonya while she was putting some stuff back.

"Hi, Sonya right?"

"Yes, that's me." Sonya replied.

"My name is Amy. So you're invited to first Sophomore party. Everyone is coming, you should too."

"I'll try." Sonya said.

"What you mean 'I'll try'? Famous band is gonna perform, there will be drink, music, fun and of course boys." Amy winked.

Sonya chuckled at that. "Actually I'm not a party person. I avoid all the things you said before. I won't come."

"Your choice, but let me tell you're gonna miss out so much fun."

"Naa.. I'm good."

Amy shrugged and left.

Sonya looked straight and saw Shane looking at her. She didn't realise that his locker was straight ahead to hers. Shane turned back and closed his locker and left. So did Sonya.

Sonya went home. Sonya had called her parents to tell them she was doing fine and everything was great. When Sonya entered the house she got a message from Kara that she would be out partying today and probably will come late. So Sonya made a quick snack, changed and went to her part time job. It was her first day at work. Everyone was nice. She introduced herself to everyone and learned how to make different types of coffees. Finally she went back home. She was exhausted and sweaty so she went in her room to take shower. She had a towel on her head covering her wet hair. Sonya then picked her bag and threw it on her bad and decided to complete her homework. She was running behind. She suddenly turned on her left side and came face to face with a window where a boy was looking at her. When she looked at him he went inside. "Was he watching me this whole time?" Sonya asked herself. Then she went to the window and closed it, covering it with curtain. She went to her bed and started doing her homework. After some time she changed into normal clothes and took off her towel from her head. Kara came back in the middle of the night. She laughed and giggled on practically everything that Sonya said. She was so drunk that she spent her time in bathroom puking. After putting Kara to her bed Sonya went to her room. She went to her window and pulled the curtains a little away to see if that boy was still there or not. No one was there. She went to her bad and realised that today she felt less weird without her parents. Maybe she actually can handle this. She freshened up and went to sleep.
