Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Shane

Shane could not believe his friend, Michael. He told her all about him. Even his past? Knowing full well, how hurtful it was for him. Shane felt betrayed. It was not just the fact that his embarrassing was out in front of a person that he wanted to hide from, but it was the hurt of having a friend betray him like that. He wanted to hide all of his ugly away from Sonya but Michael, he just ruined it for him.

Did he not consider him before telling her? If decided to keep a secret from Sonya then there must have been a reason for it. If he thought that it was something that she should know, he would have told him already, all on his own. But no. Even knowing that Shane did not want to tell her about his past, he still did that? Why? What was he thinking?

Hearing those words of sympathy from Sonya on the porch, brought back all the ugly memories back for him. He was shocked and taken aback by the fact that she knew everything about him. Even some of his very personal and private details that he did not like to share. What was worse was the fact that she got to know all about it without him knowing.

Shane wanted to take his time to tell her all about him. He wanted to ease into it. He wanted to be comfortable enough with her where he felt that he could share anything with Sonya without getting judged. Shane wanted to tell her on the Right time. A time that he decided and felt comfortable with.

But now? Everything was ruined.

To Shane it felt like, someone gave away his most private secrets that he barely let anyone know.

Shane did not want to let out his anger on the wrong person, and that too Sonya, therefore he made up excuse of being tired and left the porch to go back to his room.

The anger, the betrayal, the pain, Shane was feeling made him want to bang his fists against the wall. He wanted to scream and shout to Michael or the first person he could find, but he kept calm. Instead, he calmly pulled out his phone and texted to Michael to meet him on the playground. This was where all of his friends usually hang out on a night like this. Shane did not go because he had to work the next morning. Otherwise, he usually hung out with them too.

In a minute after sending the message, Shane received a reply from Michael. "Okay. Meet you there in ten minutes."

Shane read the text. He grabbed his phone, jacket and purse, ready to head straight out the door. However, he waited for Sonya's door to shut and when he heard it, he walked out of his house.

It did not take much time for him to reach the playground. When he got there he saw all of his friends except Alex, there. Michael, Noah and Liam all of them were talking to each other.

Shane walked up to Michael, and held in the urge to punch his friend. Without beating around the bush, he got straight to the point. He did not care if any of his friends heard everything.

"Why did you tell her?" Shane asked Michael. Getting straight to the point.

"What?" Michael asked, confused.

"I asked, why did you tell Sonya?" Shane repeated himself.

"Tell her what?" Michael asked once again. Liam and Noah only stared at them.

"Why did you tell Sonya about my past?" Shane finally explained.

As the realisation set in, an understanding settled on Michael's face. "Oh. Because she asked me to. You did not tell her anything about you, so she asked me instead and I answered her." Michael said nonchalantly. As if it was no big deal that he told all of his secrets in front of her. Making him seem pathetic and less then.

"Why? You did not want me to tell her?" Michael asked.

Was that something he needed to ask him for? Of course, he did not want him to tell her.

"No!" Shane barked.

"Why? She's your girlfriend." Michael reasoned. His reasoning made Shane more angerier.

"She's not my girlfriend. She's my ..." Shane stopped himself from saying anything further. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath.

"You had no right to tell her about my past. You betrayed me Michael." Shane growled. Michael's eyes widened as if he was struck with something. He looked absoultley shocked.

"Be- Betrayed you? How?" Michael asked, as if he could not believe what he was hearing.

"You went behind my back and told her about my most private and personal details. That I don't want you to be sharing with anyone." Shane told Michael.

"But she's not anyone. She's your girlf-" Michael retorted but stopped.

"Wait. Haven't you guys made your relationship official? And if not then how would you expect me to know?" Michael asked Shane.

This question made Shane shut up. He looked away in anger when Liam interuppted their heated arguments.

"He's right Shane. If you did not made your relationship official with her then how was he supposed to know? He thought of her as your girlfriend, having interest in your life. So, he answered her. How was it his fault?" Liam said, taking a step forward.

"And can you blame him? Even we all believe that both you and Sonya was in a relationship." Liam told Shane.

Teeth grinding, Shane turned to Michael. "Girlfriend or not. You have no right to share my personal life details with anyone Michael. Not without my permission." Shane said.

"You are making this more big of a deal then it is. Michael did not know. That's it. Why do you have to go all ballestic on him?" Noah chimed in.

"Because he shared something that was not his to share. And that's violation of privacy." Shane said.

Noah let out a sarcastic chuckle. "Privacy violation? Since when we started to follow a rulebook?" He asked Shane. Taking a step forward.

"Since we became friends." Shane let out through clenched teeth, before he stormed off. Leaving all of his friends behind.
