Chapter 37: Chapter 37

I forced a smile, trying to pretend as if everything was okay. Like, I wasn't freaked out with the way Romeo was throwing a glare at me. I couldn't help but think about what was wrong with him. He was in a good mood, before going to the next building. What could be wrong with my boyfriend? Did he get into a fight with someone?

"He is your boyfriend, right?" My human google asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.

I didn't know his name. I didn't know the name I could use to address him. It was kind of better to call him "Human Google".

I nodded my head in the affirmative. "Yes, he is my boyfriend. Let me introduce you to him. What do you think?" I suggested.

"I don't mind, homo sapien."

"I think it's high time you knew my name. Calling me the scientific name of "human" is weird," I uttered, facing him with a little smile. "I am Ivy Young."

He smiled back, exposing his beautiful dimples. "James Swift." He uttered.

I started, my eyes gleaming with delight. "Don't tell me you are related to - "

James cut short my words.``Taylor Swift? No, please. But, who knows? She might be my runaway elder sister or my aunt. Anything can happen." He rambled.

"You are free to dream. Taylor Swift might even be your grandmother. Anything can happen as you said." I said, shaking my head with laughter.

"It is okay, homo sapien."

"Stop calling me that," I snapped at him. I am Ivy. Ivy Young."

James cleared his throat, fluttering his long eyelashes rapidly. "Alright, Ivy. Do you know your boyfriend is standing there, with his eyes fixed on us? I hate to lie. Honestly, I am afraid of his intense gaze. It seems like he is about to rip someone's head off." He pointed out.

My mouth fell open. It dawned on me that my boyfriend was still staring intensely at us. I should be with him now. But, I was with my new friend, James Swift. Funny how I addressed someone I had met twice as my friend. Well, I was sure both of us would make good friends. He was intelligent and he had great vibes.

It would be better to introduce James to my boyfriend as soon as possible, before he starts thinking about someone else.

I beamed a smile at James."Let's go and meet my boyfriend. I need to introduce you to him." I told him.

"I hope he won't rip my head off." James said jokingly.

"Trust me, he won't. It is really hard to trust me though. My boyfriend won't rip your head off. He might kick your ass if you are not careful, by the way." I blurted out.

A line appeared between his well shaped brows."Now, I know that you don't like me, Ivy Young." He uttered.

A corner of my mouth lifted, giving him a lopsided smile."Yes, I don't. I only like my boyfriend." I uttered.

Finally, both of us walked over to where my boyfriend was standing. He was holding a bag. I knew the snacks he went to get would be inside the bag.

I put on a smile on my face and wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. "Why are you frowning, big baby?" I questioned him.

His forest green eyes met my gaze, he had a blank look on his eyes."Did I have a frown on my face?" He muttered under his breath.

I gave a half shrug, breaking the hug. It was useless pulling him into a hug, he didn't even hug back. I wondered what was wrong with him. I hope he won't turn our first date into a mess.

I cleared my throat."Romeo, meet James Swift. He is my new friend. James, meet Romeo Sparks. He is my boyfriend." I rambled.

Romeo stole a quick glance at me, before removing his hand from his pocket in order to shake James.

It was obvious that my boyfriend was upset. But, I didn't notice the sudden change in his mood. I hope he wasn't mad because of James. He should better understand that James and I were friends. Nothing more. Nothing less.

To make the situation less awkward, James pretended like someone was waiting for him and he used that opportunity to walk out of my presence. I knew it was a lie. The look on his face gave him away.

I gazed at James, till I couldn't see his curly hair anymore. It dawned on me that we didn't exchange phone numbers or social media accounts. I wanted to run after him so that I could get his number. I would like to be his friend. He was nice and funny.

I was about to run after him when a hand pulled me back. I spun around to lock eyes with my boyfriend, he still had a blank look on his face.

"What are you doing?" I queried, impatiently looking at the direction James passed.

Romeo's eyes narrowed. "I should be the one asking you this question. What are you doing, young lady?" He asked back.

I frowned."I need to get James's number, so that I can contact him later. I've lost him, all thanks to you." I said, pouting my lips.

"I am glad to hear that. I brought you here for our first date, not to hug and exchange numbers with a random guy." He blurted out.

I let out a sigh. So, that was it. My boyfriend was jealous. He could get jealous that I was talking with a random guy, but he always had girls flocking around him at school.

"James is a good friend." I said gently.

"And, I am a bad friend."

"You are not my friend, bro."

"Now, you are calling me "bro". You're trying to brother zone me, Ivy." He snapped, throwing me a deadly glare.

I stared at him for a few minutes with a blank look on my face, before bursting into laughter. I wanted to roll on the floor, but I controlled myself. I had to laugh. It was funny and cute to see him worked up like this.

I should always make my boyfriend jealous, at least once in a while. Such a lovely thing to watch. Finally, I have known what could trigger the almighty Romeo Sparks.

A line appeared between his brows."Tell me, what is funny?" He probed.

I shook my head, still laughing. I walked a few inches closer to him and stood on the tip of my toes.

I squeezed my eyes shut and touched his lips to mine."I love you, Romeo. Always and forever." I uttered, before sealing my confession with a kiss.

Romeo didn't kiss back at first. But, I knew he would surely kiss me back. He couldn't resist me.

My eyes gleamed with delight, as his hand went to my waist and he caressed my back softly. I wrapped my arms around him, deepening the kiss. I craved more of him. I could never get enough of my boyfriend.

I moaned in pleasure when he bit my bottom lip softly. He was such a good kisser. This should be part of the reason girls were always flocking around him.

Someone cleared his or her throat behind us which made us put an end to the intense kiss. I turned to the back. Judging from the lady's outfit, it was obvious that she was an employee of this bookstore.

"Sorry to bother you, this is a bookstore and both of you are causing a scene here." The lady said and quickly walked away, like it was really awkward to utter those words.

I glanced around the bookstore. I realized that we had indeed caused a scene. People were staring intensely at us and some were even recording us.

My cheeks turned pink. The video would surely go viral, if it made its way to the internet. Funny how I hated public displays of affection. Now, I was the one doing it like it was nothing. Romeo had really influenced me. Where was the good girl in me?

"My girlfriend is a baddie." Romeo whispered into my ears, giving me a soft bite on my earlobe.

I let out a silent moan. I should get a grip on myself. We were in a public place. A bookstore. I couldn't believe that I was turned on already. I was turned on by him. My body and having a fast response to Romeo's touches was giving it all.

I spun around to face my boyfriend with a frown on my face."You shouldn't do that next time," I warned him, pretending as if I didn't like what he did.

The corners of Romeo's mouth lifted in a dashing smile."I love you, too."

I blushed. "Why don't we finish what I've started?"

He smirked."Making out in a bookstore?"

"No. Getting books." I snapped at him.

His smile grew wider." Yes. By the way, I want to take you to a place. My favorite spot with my friends."

"Will your friends be there?" I asked, hoping that my boyfriend wouldn't mess up our first date.

He shrugged."I don't know. I didn't invite any of my friends. They might be there. You know, it is our favorite spot. But, don't worry, we are going to be together. Always. "

"Okay."

***

"You must finish the book in a day, Romeo." I told my boyfriend, taking a sip of the orange juice.

We were in Romeo's favorite spot with his friends. I was glad that his friends weren't here, as he said. It was a restaurant. It turned out that Romeo was pretty popular here, that almost all the waiters knew him. I couldn't help the blush that crept up to my cheeks when he introduced me as his girlfriend.

It was official. I was Romeo's girlfriend.

Romeo's beautiful eyes widened. "Do you want to punish me?" He asked, jerking me out of my thoughts.

I chuckled softly. "It is 150 pages. I believe you can do it."

"Thanks for believing in me. But, 150 pages is a big deal to me. I will finish the book in three and a half weeks though, depending on how interesting it is." He said.

"You are unbelievable. You should try reading books. Reading should be a hobby for everyone."

"You should try playing football. Football should be a hobby for everyone."

"Football is difficult." I uttered.

"Reading is more difficult."

Before I could reply to my boyfriend, someone walked up to our table. He looked familiar. He should be one of Romeo's friends. I could see the little smile on Romeo's face, before it was replaced by a blank look.

"Jason." Romeo called his name.

"Romeo, my gee." Jason hailed.

Both of them exchanged pleasantries and started talking about a football match. I was staring at them like a dummy. I hope Jason won't spend more than ten minutes with us. I was already having a good time with my boyfriend, before Jason interrupted me. Why can't I have a private moment with my boyfriend?

"Ivy." Jason smiled at me and I waved at him.

The smile on his face was not real. It was fake. Well, I didn't give a damn about him. He should go away.

Jason turned to my boyfriend, giving him a wink."How is the dare going?" He queried.

Romeo glared at him."Get lost, bro." He snapped at him.

Jason winked at me and left our table.

I lifted an eyebrow. What was the dare all about? Could it be related to what I read in Romeo's diary?

I started."Romeo, the dare - "

"You don't have to pay attention to boys' talks. Jason was saying nonsense. Forget about him and what he said." Romeo uttered, lifting his shoulder in a half shrug.

I nodded my head, even though I wasn't satisfied with his answer. My boyfriend was lying to me. I could see it in his eyes.

The dare. I wish I could know what it is all about.
