Chapter 38: Chapter 38

"What is going on in that little head of yours?" Romeo asked, jolting me out of my train of thoughts.

"Nothing." I shook my head, having a blank look on my face.

I knew he could tell that I was lying to him. It was obvious that I was bothered with the dare issue, especially with the blank look plastered on my face.

But, why won't I be bothered over the dare? I really wanted to know what it was all about. I was worried because I knew it might be something bad.

I have been trying but I still couldn't get rid of the image in my memory. The image of what Romeo wrote in this diary.

"I am Romeo Sparks and I will never refuse a dare, even if it means hurting the person I love."

Now, one of his homies, Jason, also asked him about the dare. That was enough clue for me to know that something fishy was going on or something was about to happen.

Romeo wrote "even if it means hurting the person I love." I suspected that the dare must be something he couldn't refuse just to protect his ego. I knew my boyfriend. He wouldn't refuse a dare. He was an egoistic and arrogant jerk. He hated having his reputation in the mud. God! I needed to know what the dare was all about and I had to protect him from doing it. I didn't want him to hurt anyone.

"Ivy Young."

Romeo called my name in a high pitched voice that I flinched. I almost lost my balance and fell on the floor. I didn't suspect him to call my name with that voice. It sounded like a roar, owing totally to his deep and husky voice.

I looked around the restaurant. I wasn't surprised that some of the diners and workers in the restaurant were staring at us. They had to. The way he shouted my name was so alarming.

I turned to my boyfriend, lifting an eyebrow. "You don't have to yell my name in that manner. I am sitting in front of you, man." I reprimanded him.

The corners of his mouth curved into a smile. Why was he smiling? I wondered what was funny. Well, it was Romeo Sparks. He didn't give a damn about getting attention from other people, as long as he achieved his aim which was getting my attention.

"I have been calling your name but you didn't answer me or even realize that I was calling your name. I had to yell," Romeo paused, he put on a serious look. "What is on your mind, ya helo?"

My brows drew together. "Ya helo? What is the meaning of that word?" I asked, ignoring his question.

His smile even grew wider. I couldn't deny that my boyfriend was such a beauty while putting a gorgeous smile on his face. Well, I was so lucky to have him. I noticed that some young girls in the restaurant were still staring at us. Not us. I mean, Romeo. Their eyes were fixed on my charming boyfriend. I didn't mind that they were staring at him like a pervert, after all I knew that he was mine. They could drool till eternity. I was sure that my boyfriend only had eyes for me. Only me.

"Ya helo is an Arabic word. It means "my beautiful "." Romeo replied, grinning from ear to ear.

I bit my bottom lip, trying hard not to blush. I didn't want him to see my cheeks turn pink. I was on a mission to find out the history of the dare. I should not lose my guard.

"Oh!" I muttered under my breath. "When did you start learning Arabic? The last time I checked, you don't know how to speak any other thing except English."

Romeo leaned closer to me, his palms were set flat on the table. "Don't bite your lips." He said in a soft whisper, as if he just told me a secret.

"Why?" I whispered back, looking into his bright green eyes.

His eyes turned a shade darker. "I want to do that." He uttered.

I couldn't help but do what I didn't want to do. I lost my guard. A flush crept up my face. I instantly turned crimson red. So embarrassing! I nibbled on my bottom lip again. Maybe, I deliberately did that apart from the fact that I was nervous and shy. Would it be okay to say that I was also dying to have his lips on mine? Something was definitely wrong with me. I needed to get rid of that thought, before I buried my hands into his jet black hair.

"Get a grip on yourself, Ivy." My subconscious screamed at me.

I nodded my head, avoiding my boyfriend's eye contact. He had leaned back in his chair but his eyes were fixed on me.

Romeo let out a soft chuckle. "Wait, are your eyes blushing too?" He asked.

Obviously, he was pulling my legs. I wondered when he would get tired of teasing me.

I shook my head, finally looking at him. "You are saying nonsense. Can my eyes blush?" I asked back.

Romeo gave a half shrug. "I don't know. But, you look very beautiful while blushing. I want to have you like this every fûcking day." He uttered.

I hissed. "I guess, making people feel awkward is your new hobby." I remarked.

"I am sure I'm not making you feel awkward, ya helo. You love what I am doing to you, baby." He whined.

"I love the nickname. I'm sure that is not how to pronounce it. But, I still love it." I smiled.

"I will surely learn the correct pronunciation because of you. I feel on top of the world. Ya helo loves the pet name. "

"I will also learn a language because of you. I need to give you a nickname too. "

Romeo smirked. "French is okay. You should learn some words for moaning too. I heard French words are enough to turn a man on."

"You have a dirty mind. " I remarked.

"As it should be. " Romeo said, giving me a wink.

I opened my mind to say something when I noticed a figure standing close to us. I looked up. A line appeared between my brows when I saw that it was Sharon. I wish my boyfriend and I could have peace. First, it was Jason and he came with the dare issue. Now, it was Sharon. I was sure that she was here because of the kiss I shared with Xander. She was so clueless.

"What are you doing here? What do you want?" Romeo questioned her.

Sharon glanced at me for a few seconds with a wicked grin on her face. I knew it. I knew the look on her face. She was here because of the kiss issue. Little did she know that Romeo already knew about it. Well, let me watch how she would humiliate herself.

Romeo threw her a dearly glare. "I asked you a question, Sharon. Do you realize that you are interrupting my date with my girlfriend? " He probed.

Sharon crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a bitter laugh. "It's high time you stopped calling Ivy your girlfriend. You need to stop addressing her as your girlfriend. " She rambled.

Romeo hissed. "And, who are you to tell me what to do?"

I took a sip of my juice, less bothered about the drama Sharon was performing. I was enjoying the show. This should be fun to watch. I couldn't wait to see the disappointed look that would be plastered on her face after everything.

"I am Sharon. Should I tell you a dirty secret? A secret that your lovely girlfriend kept from you," Sharon said sarcastically. "Honestly, I am so disappointed in you, Romeo. You stoop too low to date a nerd. "

Romeo's hands tightened into fists. I could tell that he was filled with my rage already.

"Don't ever say anything against my girlfriend. Do yourself a favor by leaving this place, Sharon. You disgust me. " Romeo snapped at her.

Sharon frowned. Her nose wrinkled in disgust. I bet she was disappointed that Romeo didn't give a damn about her anymore. I doubt if Romeo cared about her or had a thing for her, in the first place. She was just one of the girls he slept with for fun.

"Just so you know, your girlfriend shared a mind-blowing kiss with Xander Cullen." Sharon babbled.

"Thank you, next. " Romeo muttered.

Her eyes narrowed. I didn't know when a chuckle escaped from my mouth. It was so funny to see Sharon's facial expression.

Sharon started. "You don't believe me, Romeo. I have a video. It was - "

"Get lost, Sharon. " Romeo yelled.

Sharon tried to speak again. "But, - "

"My boyfriend already knew. Just leave our presence, please. You are bothering us. " I chimed in.

Sharon glared at me, her lips were trembling. "I hate you. You snatched my boyfriend. Romeo was mine. " She snapped, her eyes were flooded with tears.

I sighed. "He was never yours. "

"Trust me, he will break your heart too. Fool. " Sharon yelled and ran out of the restaurant.

"She needs help. " I mumbled.

"She is crazy. " Romeo commented.
