Chapter 66: Chapter 66
CHAPTER 66
SARA
“… Ok see you later love.” Sara replied curtly, ending the call with Christian.
She had called to thank him for the flowers he had gotten for her, and turning to face Ariel, she sniffed the flowers again as the bouquet was in her hands.
He had given Ariel at the supermarket, just like Ariel had told her, and she was grateful for his thoughtfulness, and care too.
“Lover birds… Come over here let’s eat these chocolates he got you.” Ariel said sarcastically, and smiling ignoring her taunts Sara walked towards the bed.
They were the only ones in the hostel room, so Sara was not embarrassed or anything.
“You just love food too much.” Sara taunted back grabbing a piece of the chocolate cake he had also brought for her, and Ariel laughed.
Looking at her friend, or not at her rather, the sound of her laughter was enough to take Sara’s mind of her worries as she thought of happy times.
She thought of a time where she would just be with Christian, and they would be together in love with no problems.
She thought of a time, where she would be with her friends, as one big family, and by that time she wouldn’t have to be at the shelter again.
She thought of the future and…
“Hey girl!” Ariel called out waving her hands, and Sara blinked thrice coming back to present.
“What is it?” She almost yelled, somewhat angry that Ariel had interrupted her thinking.
One filled with good thoughts, and at that reminder she gave her a uptight face.
“Did I interrupt something nice? We’re you thinking of you and Christian, in bed, limbs tangled and…”
Sara didn’t allow her finish, as she grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at her, effectively shutting her up, and soon they were pillow fighting.
“Okay, okay I give up…” Sara said fighting for sure, as Ariel bombarded her with attacks, and she now wanted to stop what she had obviously started.
Still hitting her arms with a bigger pillow, Ariel replied, “I won’t stop till you tell me what you were thinking. I’m so curious.”
“Okay, okay, I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you everything I was thinking about.” Sara said, and Ariel obeyed and true to her words she stopped.
Arranging the bed and keeping the pillows well, Ariel folded her arms, eyes and ear eager as she waited for Sara to say something to her.
“I’m waiting…” Ariel sing songed, and started munching a cake too.
“I’ll definitely tell you, just chill.” Sara said, rolling her eyes despite knowing how that word, ‘chill’ angered Ariel so much.
“Really you’re telling me to chill?”
Just like she had envisioned, and she could already see the incoming rage on her best friend’s face.
“Calm down, calm down.” Sara said laughing so hard, making Ariel scoff loudly.
“Well, I was just thinking about the future you know…” She started to say solemnly and continued while Ariel listened, “You know a time when we would just be free from every problems. There’ll still be problems, but then we’ll be grown up, and out of this shelter. Have a good life, enjoy our youth, fall in love, get married, have children, you know and still be together. Me, Christian, you, Daniel an…”
“Woah woah… Stop right there!” Ariel said, chuckling and Sara raised her brows, “What is it?”
“You’re just thinking to far. I know you and Christian are so much in love, but count I and Daniel out of it.”
“Why?”
“We’re just dating, nothing else. I’m sure that after some time, our feelings for each other will wave off.”
“Don’t say that. I know Daniel loves you so much, and you do to. You’re just trying to be cold hearted and all. Trying to form whatever yo…”
Ariel cut in, “Enough of me okay. About the future your dreams are nice, and I hope it will all work out well for the both of us. As for wanting to be with Christian…” She winked, “It’s already up to you too, since you’re envisioning one with him. Why not just follow him to Seattle, and save yourself the stress.”
This topic again.
Silence descended amidst them.
Sara had no idea what to say, and Ariel as it was would definitely want a response.
She was even the one that had brought up the topic of the future, so she couldn’t fault Ariel for asking or saying this.
“Don’t you want me to be here with you. You just want me to up and leave with Christian and…”
“You were talking about the future, and this right here is the future Sara. For someone do optimistic, you’re not sounding like it at all.” Ariel said, rolling her eyebrows and sighing Sara just says gently, “Let’s just forget about that okay.”
“Yeah I will. But now we won’t have anything to talk again, but your birthday. Your birthday falls on February 29, and it’s the leap year. So you have a date today. How are we going to celebrate it?” Ariel asked her jumping on the bed, and squealing as if she was the one celebrating the birthday.
“Oh no not again Ariel. You know I don’t celebrate my birthday right…” Sara started to pout, looking at her friend who now had on a mischievous look on her face.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” She asked suspecting something.
“Nothing nothing.” Ariel said nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders, but still Ariel didn’t believe her one bit.
“Talk to me Ariel.” Sara said, shoulders hunched you, ready to pick up a fight, already standing up from the bed.
“Sara, it’s nothing really. You don’t want us to talk about your move to Seattle, you don’t want us to talk about your birthday. It’s fine it’s fine…” Ariel replied laughing, and now Sara knew something was up.
She picked up a pillow, ready to start a fight, but Ariel was already out of the bed and she dashed towards he in a rush as they started playing.
Despite Ariel’s insistence and not wanting to say anything, Sara didn’t know why she had this strong gut feeling that something was up, she just believed that.
Whatever it was though, she hoped it was for good.

DINAH’S POV
“Yeah I will. But now we won’t have anything to talk again, but your birthday. Your birthday falls on February 29, and it’s the leap year. So you have a date today. How are we going to celebrate it?”
Dinah paused on her way, as she leaned closer to Sara and Ariel’s hostel room door, to listen to their conversation.
“You know I don’t…”
Dinah still eavesdropping, tuned Sara’s reply out as that statement earlier alone was enough to make her stop, and think.
How come she hadn’t known? She asked herself.
Sara’s birthday was on the lady day of the month, and just some days before the festival.
The day when her plans would manifest, and oh what a better way to ruin her new age.
Christian would hate the bitch forever, once Dinah and Mikey carried out their plans, and then he would leave her.
“Yayyy…” Dinah squeaked a little bit loudly.
This walk this afternoon, had been Godsent, because she now had this new profound information, and it was enough to spice things up for her.
Turning left and right to see if anyone was watching, or coming rather, she placed her ears again at the door trying to get some information.
Had they heard her squeal? Because this time they were not talking loudly, and this time their voices were muffled.
Oh well…
Hissing slowly, she dragged her feets, walking back to where she was headed.
If they had heard her, that was none of her fucking business.
She was just happy, that soon her mission would be accomplished, and this bitch would not be in her or Christian’s life anymore.
Damn! She just couldn’t wait.
