Chapter 64: Chapter 64
CHAPTER 64
SARA
It had been approximately three or four days since that bedroom incident, and Sara was still chilled about the whole thing.
Despite reporting to the matrons and security of the shelter, they hadn’t really seen it as anything, dismissing it as some childhood prank, and they had both told her and Ariel to go get something doing instead of lazing around.
Ariel had even wanted to tell them about the first incident she had gotten, the one with the WATCH YOUR BACK inscription, but Sara had stopped her, with a squeeze of her hand.
There was no evidence to support that claim, as she had discarded the paper since, and she couldn’t even remember the face of the little girl that had given her that paper that day, so it was worthless and useless without any proof.
Suffice to say, they hadn’t even really believed them at all.
Now, she was walking to her room alone, and she was just pondering, her thoughts assailing her.
She kept thinking over and over, if she has any enemy in the shelter…
One that hated her so much, which would prompt such texts but she had no one.
She rarely got into troubles, except with Dinah of course, but then, Dinah was just bullying her.
A natural trait for her, and Sara didn’t see it as anything.
This threat she was getting was another thing entirely, and she wondered why this person was threatening her.
Or was it really a prank? Was someone just using her to catch fun?
To think that this month February, was actually her birth month, and it would soon be her birthday soon, and then she was experiencing all these.
Sighing, she just kept walking down the corridor to her destination.
She got to her room, and opened the door to the chattering of the other girls there.
She greeted some that looked her way when she got in and walking straight to her bunk, she climbed her bed and laid straight.
She had no idea where Ariel was, probably at the supermarket or with Daniel or whatever and at the thought of the couple, her mind took her to Christian and she clenched her thighs deliciously.
It was over a week or two since she saw him last, and despite the fact that they talked almost everyday through texts and calls, Sara still missed him so much.
About the event that happened days ago, she was yet to tell him, because she didn’t want him to worry and fret too much.
She knew how he was, and with everything he was going through, preparing for his leave to Seattle (Her heart squeezed painfully at the reminder that he was leaving soon), she wanted her problems not to bother him at all.
Propping herself on her elbows, she picked her cell phone and dialled his cell number, wanting to hear his voice but his phone was switched off.
Discarding her phone frustratingly, she laid straight again on her bed and stared at the roof blindly.
Her thoughts overtaking her again, Sara didn’t know when she succumbed to sleep.
Well it was better, as she would not have to think again.
She was at peace then!

CHRISTIAN
The shrill sound of his cell phone, was enough to awaken Christian from his deep sleep.
He had just gotten back the airport, where he had gone to know the transportation fare, and everything.
He wanted to compare and contrast the fees with that of the train, a d at the same time check the one that would be convenient for him, his family and Sara too.
Plane was more expensive, but more convenient and he still hadn’t made his decision, as he needed to tell the finance department of his new job.
They were the ones paying for everything, and another thing keeping him back was the fact that he still didn’t know if he would be taking Sara with him.
He personally wanted to take her with him, but he had not gotten a response from the head matron since that day, and now…
Turning over on his bed with a groan, eyes still closed he searched for his phone on the bedside and roughly picking it up he swiped the answer button and placed the phone in his ear.
He didn’t even bother to check who the caller was, and grumbling he said immediately, “Hello, who’s this?”
“Mr Christian? Am I speaking to Mr Christian.” The person on the other hand of the phone and Christian answered with a sharp yes.
“This is Mrs Patrick, from Darinn Children’s home and shelter…”
Mrs Patrick? Sara’s matron head? Oh goodness…
Immediately she started talking, the sleep and even tiredness Christian was feeling went away on a whim.
He didn’t know where the renewed strength came from, but he sat up on his bed and placing the phone in his ears well he answered, “Yes ma’am. Good day ma, it’s Christian.”
The head matron gave a small chuckle on the other end of the phone, “I know boy, I know you’re the one. You confirmed it earlier remember?” She asked him, but he gave no answer as he didn’t even know what to say.
Sleep had been in his eyes, and he couldn’t recollect that memory, but then he said, “Thanks for calling ma’am. Is there anything I can…”
She cut in before he could finish, and said, “I have good news for you son.”
“Really!” Christian exclaimed and she answered him with a positive yes, and just like that his mood went up.
Just what was this good news? And his left hand, gripping his legs tightly, Christian prayed silently that it was what he was thinking.
That she was going to allow Sara leave with…
“… So the panel have sat down and had a talk concerning your case. And from all indications you and your mother look capable of taking care of Sara. It would be an honor for the shelter to hand you all exclusive rights to continue being Sara’s guardi…”
Christian squealed loudly, making Mrs Patrick who was still talking pause.
“Calm down son. There are still lots of process to go through, like court and other. I actually am not supposed to be telling you this, but your mother but well I couldn’t reach her.”
Smiling at the kind woman’s words even though she couldn’t see him, Christian said politely, “Sorry ma’am. And thanks for telling me, I relay the message to her.”
“Okay boy…” She said, and then proceeded to tell him some other things.
Christian personally was happy that he had gotten this news first, and concealing his joy, he listened as she told him about the procedures they would need to go, and luckily for him they could conclude it within a month, if they were really serious.
The matron was really kind and gentle as she talked, and Christian just didn’t know how to thank her enough.
Soon they finished talking, and exchanging their farewell pleasantries, Christian hung up.
As soon as he hung up, he yelped shouting for joy, and started jumping on his bed happily.
Thank goodness he was the only one at home, so he could shout anyhow he wanted.
He just couldn’t wait to break this news to his mom and Sara too.
He couldn’t wait to see their overjoyed expression, and at the thought that Sara would be with him in Seattle, experiencing the blissful things he ha in store for her, Christian couldn’t be more overjoyed.
Damn! He was so happy, so fucking happy!
