Chapter 137: Chapter 137

Suddenly she saw the shadow swing something towards her even though she didn't know what it was.

She still screamed instinctively.

"AHHH!"

Suddenly the room door opened.

The room light was switched on, showing Bryan standing at the door entrance with a concerned face.

He was stunned when he saw how lifeless Sherry looked.

He immediately walked towards, he bent down in front of her.

He tried to touch, she immediately moved to avoid his hand.

"D-dont touch me" She said , her voice quickering.

He withdrew his hand, "I won't touch you" He said. The vigilance in her eyes didn't reduce.

He took a step back to reassure her that he won't touch her.

He looked down and suddenly saw some blood in where she sat down, he was sure the blood was from her.

His heart dropped.

A miscarriage?

He suddenly rushed to carry her.

She tried to move away in panic, "Please I won't disob-ey you anym-ore, D-dont touch me" She pleaded.

Bryan's heart ached but she was in a serious situation.

"You are bleeding, even if you don't want me to touch you. You have to because of the baby" He said and speaked gently so she would let her guard down.

Sherry was stunned.

"My baby" Her voice quickered, she immediately wrapped a hand around her stomach protectively.

She felt her clothes were wet so she trailed her hand down.

She touched it and brought it to see.

She was stunned when she saw blood.

"My baby - miscarriage" She said, she doesn't even know what she wants to say.

Bryan immediately returned to his senses, "I will call the doctor immediately" He said and dipped his hand into his pocket.

He brought out his phone and dialed a number.

"You have five minutes to get here and bring a female doctor with you" He said immediately the person picked up the call.

He hung up.

James wanted to tease Bryan on the phone when he called but Bryan talked before he could say anything.

"You have five minutes to get here and bring a female doctor with you" He said in a serious voice and hung up.

James immediately rushed out of his office in panic.

He first knocked in a door.

"Come in," A female said from inside.

James opened the door and walked in.

"Come with me, it is urgent" He said and walked out of the office immediately.

The female doctor didn't dilly dally, she stood up and ran to follow James.

James already started the car by the time she got there.

She immediately got in and closed the door.

"Where are we going sir?" The female doctor asked.

"You will know when we get there" James replied and drove out of the hospital.

He drove at the highest speed to Bryan's house.

He arrived in four minutes and thirty seconds, his hospital he works is not very far away from Bryan's house that was why he was able to make it.

The female doctor was so pale.

She was scared but she held her tongue so she wouldn't scream out loud.

"Get down from the car" James said and removed his seat belt.

He got down from the car.

The female doctor calmed down and also got down from the car.

They rushed into the house.

Knowing that Bryan would be upstairs, James immediately walked towards the elevator. He pressed the button when the female doctor also entered the elevator.

Sherry already passed out from fright.

Bryan carried her in his arms and laid her on the bed.

He looked at his wristwatch with a frown on his face.

Knock!

A knock was heard on the door.

"Come in," Bryan said.

The door opened.

James and the female doctor entered the room.

James was stunned when he saw the blood in Sherry's clothes.

"How did this happen?" He asked.

"I don't know, " Bryan said in a tired voice.

He looked exhausted.

He left for the office as he normally does, then he came back home as usual and she was demanding for her divorce.

It was like they returned to how they were months ago when she was cold and indifferent towards him. He hates it when she is like this but he doesn't understand what he did wrong, why her character towards him suddenly changed.

She became afraid of him and vigilant and she was never like that before.

The female doctor looked at Bryan with beams of sweat in her forehead after examining Sherry.

"What is wrong with her?" Bryan asked with a frown.

"The patient's emotion is not balanced and it seems she is afraid of someone or something making her more emotional. It will be good if you can accompany her so her emotions will be okay" The female doctor said.

"Do you know what or who she is afraid of?" Bryan asked.

The female doctor hesitated, she could see that her boss respected and feared the man so she didn't want to mistalk and ended up offending the man.

"Maybe you can talk to the patient, I guess she will want to tell you since you are husband" The female doctor said, choosing her choice of words carefully.

Bryan nodded, "I understand"

The female doctor heaved a sigh of relief after hearing this.

She looked at James with a pleading gaze, "So can I leave now?" She asked in a low tone, afraid of disturbing Bryan whose gaze was on Sherry.

James was reluctant to let her go because he doesn't want to stay here too especially when Bryan looked so angry but he knew that he should not implicate the poor doctor.

James nodded.

The female doctor immediately opened the door and rushed out of the room.

She heaved a sigh of relief after she successfully walked out of the room unsheathed.

The temperature in the room was suffocating and cold.

She felt like she would die without knowing if she stayed there any longer.

Bryan glanced at James, "you should leave too" He said.

James nodded and immediately walked out of the room.

He felt that he was alive once more

Bryan sighed.

He walked towards Sherry and cleaned her up.

Then he changed her clothes and put on another pair of clothes for her.

She woke up after he finished putting on the last clothes.

She immediately pushed him away when she saw that his hand was on her.

Bryan bit his lips in frustration.

"Why are you doing this? Were we not cool before I went to work? And you were not like this last night too" He asked in a frustrated voice.

Sherry glanced at him calmly, "I will just ask you a question, you should answer truthfully. It is fine even if you don't tell me the truth because I already found out " Sherry said with a cold voice.

"Okay I will answer the question " He said.

"How did you get to know me? Who told you about me? How do you know that I am always involved in contract marriages?" She asked.

"You asked three questions, which one should I answer?" He said in a helpless voice and tried to amuse her.

"Just fucking answer me" She yelled, her emotions were getting to her head.

Bryan immediately stopped joking when he saw her like this, "I will answer you, don't get emotional the doctor said it will threaten your pregnancy and it would cause miscarriage " He said in a soft voice to remind her.

"You don't have to tell me what to do, I care for my baby" She said in a nonchalant voice.

Bryan could hear the difference in her tone.

She already changed after a few days.

From our baby to my baby.

He felt saddened at this outcome.

"It was a friend of mine who told me about you" He replied, the question was enough to answer all the three questions she asked

Sherry smiled bitterly.

She already guessed it.

And he was not even trying to deny it.

"Bryan," She called.

Bryan's heart sank when he heard her calling him by his name.

When she was serious she would call him by his name but she always call him hubby most of the time

He immediately stood up and walked towards the bed. He knew that whatever she wanted to say he didn't want to hear, "You should be hungry, I will go and prepare some food for you." He gave an excuse and turned the doorknob.

"Let's get a divorce" She completed her words. She knew he was trying to avoid her also but she didn't want to give him the chance to avoid her.

"Never!" Bryan said and held the doorknob tightly, his gripped on the door made his hand turn pale.

Sherry pretended like she did not hear what he said, "If you feel that maybe I will disturb you because I am pregnant with your child, you can follow me to the hospital to get an abortion. Our marriage contract already expired it should last for three months or so, and it is more than three months now. You owe me some money but I don't need it anymore I just want my freedom " Sherry said quickly not giving him chance to interrupt her.

Bryan's grip on the door tightened. He turned his head and looked at Sherry, "We are not getting a divorce, you should understand that" He said and opened the door.

He walked out of the room in a hurried step afraid of hearing anymore of her words.

Sherry slumped on the bed, as tears streamed down her eyes.

She just wanted her freedom and nothing else but she knew it would never be easy since she had successfully fallen into the trap they weaved for her.

The only thing she regretted was meeting Bryan and West in her life.

She lay down with her eyes staring into the space.

She wishes she could just commit suicide so she won't have to suffer how she did three years ago again.

But she had a child to protect so she couldn't even if she wanted to.
