CHAPTER 31: WISH

My body was shaking so much ad I was scared because I saw callix kneeling in pain while screaming in so much pain, I called Alex even calix don’t want, I stammered while talking to Alex but he still understands what I am talking about and when I looked back callix is already lost conscious.

“ callix! Calix!” his not responding.

“ callix please don’t die” I was crying then suddenly gab,Alex, lian came already.

Alex and gab carry callix to put In the car, while we are inside Alex checking callix while lian crying.

“ Alex, how is he?” Alex looks sad and I got a shiver. we are settled and ready to start our own life so please not now callix.

We took him to the hotel instead of a hospital, we laid down slowly and Alex is talking to callix parents, I don’t know what they talking about but I’m am more worried about callix.

“ the private plain of devera is coming now, we have to home. Callix situation is not good now” said Alex seriously, we were looking at callix who is sweating profusely.

We are already n the Philippines and an ambulance took him while we followed them but our faces couldn’t figure it out because we were all worried.

“ what is happening? Can you tell us?” everyone is quiet and no one wanted to speak so I took a deep breath.

“ auntie, callix has cancer” her mom was shocked as she suddenly sat on the floor, while his dad can’t believe what he heard.

“ since when? Why we don’t know? The last we talked was his playing around us and it looks like he’s okay” his mom. The ambulance stopped so got off and followed callix.

We saw his doctor walking toward us.

“ We need to do surgery ASAP!” he said to us.

“ let me assist you doc” we looked at Alex, he performed my surgery so it will help callix.

“ I’m one of the doctors here so won’t have a problem” added Alex, the doctor nodded and they left.

We sit with so much fear and worry, hold on callix, please. Many people are waiting for you.

“ Mrs. Ledesma can you tell me more?” his mom said.

“ the day callix sent me to talk to him, I didn’t expect to hear them talking to the doctor, callix thought it was mind grain but the doctor said it’s not and it was a stage 4 cancer” his mom cried

“he's too young to have cancer Diego, why is this happening to our son”

“ callix asked how many months he will live “ I started crying while looking forward to what happened.

“ 12-18 months” his moms hook her head in disbelief, callix recently have a complete family but we never thought that he is going to have cancer.

“ callix doesn’t want to let us know because he doesn’t want us to worry,” lian said.

“ he wants to continue his life as if he is not in pain because he does not want us to think that it will be a burden to us. He always thought of other people because he doesn’t want us to think that he is worthless “ lian cried.

Because of what my mom said to him over and over again, it was stamping and it was hard to get rid of her mind being a worthless person.

We were quiet waiting for the doctor to come out and as time went on, our hopes become shorter and shorter. I saw lian stood up so I followed her and I saw her entering the hospital chapel.

“ This is our only hope Trisha, to pray that we will not get callix to us. He told me you went to church where you found out that you have cancer and he told me what he prays. He wishes that cancer of yours will transfer to him because you still have many dreams” she wiped her tears.

“ he said that he can have cancer because he doesn’t have many dreams not like you that you have a lot of dreams and he wants you to fulfill them first. How could he asked that illness to him and now look he has that illness then what?” she cried more.

“he’s always like that when we’re married he always thinks what’s good for me and even though he’s having a hard time, he always made it impossible to possible and I hope he will surpass this” I cried too.

“ trust callix, he will come to us, and now that he has a reason to continue his life” I looked at lian and she smiled at me. We go back to praying.

Lord, callix wishes that he will have cancer but he did this because of me, Lord please let callix with us. Let callix have a family first and feel that he is not worthless, please I’m begging lord, please.

If he begged to save me before now I’m begging to save callix and I hope the lord hears my prayer.

Hours passed and the doctor came out, I looked at Alex and there was no trace of emotion on his face.

“ how is callix?” I came to him but he didn’t answer my question then he just hugged me tightly, I burst into tears In his chest.
