CHAPTER 18: BIRTHDAY

While taking a bath, I still remember the one that I watched it seems that guy is callix but they looked different but his smile looks similar to callix.

“ hon please hurry up, we might be late” Alex knocked, oh I forgot that was to attend a birthday party. We were curious because based on what mom said this is the first celebration of his birthday and this man has a major announcement” I moved fast to finish my bath.

“ Okay hon” I went out to the bathroom.

“ ah hon looked at this, is it okay that this is our gift” my husband came over and showed me he was holding, its screaming eagle 1992 one of the most expensive wines.

“ of course, Mr. Devera will like that because he loves wines” my husband smiled broadly.

“ Okay, we’ll just wait for you downstairs” I nodded at him. Mom and dad join us because Mr. Devera is one of the biggest distributors ad owners when it comes to wine. They say that he has a son that was In new York but any of us don’t know how does he look.

Then when I got ready, I went down out and I saw them downstairs that I was the one waiting but why is mom looks different, she wear more accessories than before.

“let’s go?”Alex said. We went in the car.

We are already here but we are amazed by the structure of the house and the size of the house is not normal.

“ I never thought that Devera is so rich” we got out of the car and went inside. Someone greeted us and someone accompanies in we were going to seat.

“ to many people,”  I said but I’m not surprised because it is known, which means in and outside the country, no one will not know him when it comes to business.

We sat down where we were instructed to be seat and looked at our table the other table was full of food and wine.

“ good evening everyone” the host caught our attention.

“ Before we start our party I would like to call our birthday celebrant, please welcome our young at heart Mr. Diego devera!” we clapped and a man came out I didn’t expect it to look like this because he didn’t look like an old man.

“ thank you, everyone, you know that I didn’t celebrate my birthday but because of this man, I can resist “ we were looking at him.

“ and I want to thank my son for doing this, it been so many years that I spend looking for this guy and thank god I found him but I found him with no hope of survival and that makes me hurt, deeply hurt” he looked at us sharp but I don’t know if what I saw was right but that’s what I saw in his eyes.

“ he had been through a lot in life and I never thought that while I was not in his life, someone would hurt and humiliate him until he lost his hope of living but I promised one thing I’m going to protect” why is he looking to us and it makes me shiver.

“ Okay, now I want you to welcome my son Mr. callix Garcia Devera” I seemed deaf to that what I heard.

I looked closely at the man who came out and I covered my mouth for being a shock, callix my ex-husband. He hugged his dad and handed him the mic.

“ Thanks, dad” he looked at the guest until he turned to us but the way he looked towards us is sharp.

“ ca-callix? The worthless guy?” mom couldn’t believe what she saw while Alex looked at him seriously.

“mmm, why are you guys serious huh? This is just me, the guy who hit the number 1 spot at wine distillery “ I was stunned by what he said and I looked at the people and they were strange.

“ Alex is it true?” there was irritation in mommy’s voice and I saw Alex nod. My whole body was shaking, I couldn’t believe that the person I saw on the TV was him. It’s only been a year but he has grown and changed a lot.

“ Richard how come you don’t know?” mom asked dad annoyed but even dad couldn’t believe it.

“ by the way I want to thank you for coming to dad special birthday, please everyone raise your glass, and let’s have cheered. CHEERS!” people followed and cheered.

“ enjoy the party” he left with his daddy.

I saw them coming down and many people greeted them and give them their gifts. While at the distance I looked at him, he looks more hunk than before and his haircut is a good match to the way he looked now.

My heart pounded as I saw them walking closer to our table, I looked mom who was restless in her chair. We didn’t expect callix to be Mr. Devera’s son. The person mommy mocked and the person I shunned.
