Chapter 316: Chapter 316
At the mention of her disciple, Marian’s expression suddenly darkened, her beautiful eyes turning sharp.
"Such a disappointment, ruining herself over a worthless man."
"If it weren’t for..."
She snorted coldly, "She really should wash out her eyes!"
Hmm? Carl raised his eyebrows. From Marian’s words, he didn’t detect criticism of Nancy for throwing herself at Hodgson, but rather dissatisfaction with her disciple’s choice of man. What? So for an outstanding man, one could throw caution to the wind and chase after him relentlessly? Her attitude is quite peculiar. No wonder Strele said she had a streak of craziness in her bones.
"Don’t worry." Marian waved her sleeve. "Nancy is my disciple, after all. I have already arranged for her advancement to the Official Wizard Realm ahead of schedule. You need not concern yourself with that. As for Oma... she has taken Bella as her tutor, and her matters will naturally be handled by her tutor."
"What?" She looked over with a tilt of her head, "You’re not willing?"
"No!" Carl shook his head quickly. "Of course not, it’s just that I hadn’t expected... Thank you for your kindness, Senior."
"Don’t be in a rush to thank me," Marian said. "The Dream-Eating Silkworm has not yet been captured. When people from the Cape family return, we’ll go hunt this creature together. Don’t worry, it’s not dangerous, just a bit troublesome."
The Dream-Eating Silkworm is a very special creature that usually parasitizes the dreams of certain beings.
Meaning, it has no physical form!
The chances of it being discovered are slim, and the possibility of capturing it even less so, making Silence Potion all the more rare.
Furthermore, the Dream-Eating Silkworm is an excellent material for assisting the training of Wizards specializing in nightmares. Even when captured, it’s seldom used for making Silence Potion.
These various factors contributed to the scarcity and high cost of Silence Potion.
The pair did not have to wait long.
Four people from the Cape family promptly arrived.
The one leading them was tall and burly, with a ruddy nose and a tall, peaked hat. He greeted them with a smile, "Wizard Marian!"
"Blaze!" Marian nodded, her gaze sweeping over the three people behind him, primarily focusing on two of them. "Are these the people you’re bringing?"
"Yes," Blaze nodded. "You’ve met Millie. This is my grandson Meg, also an Advanced Wizard Apprentice."
He grunted thoughtfully, then addressed Carl. "Young man, you’re Carl, right?"
"Yes," Carl stepped forward. "I’ve met Senior Blaze before, Miss Millie, Mr. Meg; we meet again."
His potion shop was thriving. Furthermore, the procurement of beast meat was a business he handled for the Cape family, so naturally, he was acquainted with their promising young members. They weren’t exactly friends, but at least they were familiar with each other. Tʜe sourcᴇ of thɪs content ɪs 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵⚑𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮⚑𝓷𝓮𝓽
"Mr. Carl," Millie said, looking somewhat surprised. "I never thought it would be you; I had assumed..."
Halfway through her speech, she realized something was amiss and, with a warm smile, extended her hand to gently shake Carl’s. "I’m very pleased to see you!"
Meg, on the other hand, merely nodded, his expression wooden, a flicker of confusion in his eyes.
They knew a bit about the people who had arrived at the Six Rings Tower in the past few months, but they hadn’t expected Carl to be among them. This wizard’s talent wasn’t outstanding. Moreover, he had only recently become an Advanced Wizard Apprentice and was still far from challenging the Official Wizard Realm. It couldn’t be his turn, could it? Or perhaps the resources of the Six Rings Tower were so plentiful that others disdained using a Silence Potion to advance?
Carl chuckled dryly. Although it struck me as odd, I certainly wouldn’t back down from the chance to get my hands on a Silence Potion.
The four from the Cape family included Blaze, an Official Wizard; two Advanced Wizard Apprentices; and one guard who was a Legendary Knight.
"Now that everyone is here, let’s get going!" Blaze walked into the courtyard and gestured towards the sky.
The next moment, air pressure descended from above.
Carl squinted towards the sky, his expression changing slightly.
A dark shadow dropped swiftly from above, growing larger as it neared, eventually transforming into a towering giant, ten meters tall.
The giant’s body was crafted from rock, its eyes like precious stones, and from its back, a pair of immense wings unfolded.
A construct creature—Stone Statue Ghost! Not a Stone Statue Ghost transformed by a Bloodline Magic apprentice, but a true construct creature—artificial life!
Its massive body was like a small mountain, and just a light flap of its wings could stir up a gale.
In its presence, even Carl, a Legendary Knight, found his breath involuntarily quickening.
The Stone Statue Ghost slowly lowered its body, revealing a huge, open-topped carriage on its back, furnished with soft, padded seats.
"Wizard Marian," Blaze gestured, "Please!"
Marian nodded, waved her Magic Wand gently, and an invisible force emerged, slowly lifting her and Carl into the air and onto the Stone Statue Ghost’s back.
One-Circle Witchcraft—Flying Skill!
Flying! Although I’ve ridden on a Magic Flying Carpet many times, the sensation of flying off the ground for the first time is still novel to me. Once I advance to be an Official Wizard, I should learn this spell first before any other.
The others followed, taking their places in the carriage.
At Blaze’s indication, the Stone Statue Ghost, having crouched on the ground, began to steadily beat its wings, carrying the group toward the sky.
The Stone Statue Ghost’s initial speed wasn’t fast, but as it soared higher, it accelerated tremendously, nearly breaking the sound barrier.
And under the effect of witchcraft, those standing on its back felt no discomfort. Even their clothes remained undisturbed.
Carl looked down, seeing the market grow increasingly distant. A sense of unease grew in my heart. However, after glancing at the people beside me, I gently shook my head. With Wizard Marian and members of the Cape family present, even if we ventured deep into the Magic Forest, it was unlikely we would encounter any danger. As for the beast tide... it had only just begun and hadn’t yet affected the nearby area.
