Chapter 81: Chapter 81

"Sorry, Dad. I just had a sudden visit with somewhere, so I couldn't say goodbye," I stated as I talked to my father through the phone.

I heard him sigh. "Don't do that again, it's very unprofessional," Dad preached—embarrassment automatically crept inside my system. "Anyway, did you already talk with Mr. Revelar? Was there a problem with the project? You are using his phone so you're still with him?" he asked a series of questions.

I don't know what to answer his questions first. I briefly glimpsed Agustine who was driving seriously; His eyebrows met with a deep thought. I couldn't help myself because he did not even glance at me.

"Some designs were just rechecked for the hotel. There was no problem, we are on our way back to the city after I stopped by the house for some of my things that were left behind," I answered and bit my lower lip for lying .

"No," Daddy said immediately. "It's already late. You stay with us first and come back here tomorrow morning," he added.

I sat up and held the phone. "W-what?" I repeat.

"We have a lot of guest rooms in our house, Khrystal. For sure Mr. Revelar is already tired right now. It's up to us to stop him first, I'll call the house to inform about your arrival," Daddy promised decisively .

"B-But..." I trailed off and glanced at Agustine who was now looking at me.

"But what?" Dad uttered.

I swallowed hard and looked away when I saw the tiredness on Agustine's face. Even if I don't like Daddy's plan, there's nothing I can do. It's the best option for now.

"Nothing, Daddy," I said, defeated.

"Alright. I'll drop the call. I'll call the house to inform the maids of your arrival," said Daddy.

I just hummed and secretly heaved out a breath when the call ended.

"Did something happen?" Agustine asked with concern.

I slowly shook my head and hesitantly placed his cell phone on the dashboard.

Maybe I don't need to put it back in his pocket, do I?

"U-Uhm... Dad said... that..." I cleared my throat. "You should go home first," I continued.

His forehead creased.

"It's late at night and you're tired from driving. I.. it's only right that we rest at home first," I stated.

"In your room?" he asked.

Quickly, my eyes widened. I was caught off guard by his thought. There was a ghostly smile on his lips when he saw my reaction.

"In the guest room of course," he spontaneously corrected and chuckled a little.

His occasional peeks at me continued for the next minute while I was nervous and shy. Nervous about him staying at our house and embarrassed because I didn't even think about his birthday. With every meter that Agustine's car runs, the strength of my heartbeat increases.

"I can check-in in a hotel if you are not comfortable," Agustine broke the silence.

Even though what he said was not detailed, I understood it completely. My conscience ate me even more because until this time he still thought about me. Yes, he's not a gentleman when I first saw him, but now. . . he's more than that.

I couldn't avoid looking back at him. He looked at me for a moment and then turned his attention back to the road. Even though his eyes weren't on me I knew he was sensing and waiting for whatever I would do or say

I stared at his face. With his lush and long eyelashes. On his thick eyebrows. In his serious, but calm eyes. I also looked at his sharp nose and his proportioned lips. At first, I could think that I fell because of his good looks, but that's too shallow.

I left him after our first night as a couple because I got scared of my feelings. I doubted my decision because of my happy emotions. I moved away and tried to get close to my male friends again thinking that it might just bring comfort because Agustine was the only friend I had in the city. But then, I realized that all my deductions are wrong.

They are different. Agustine was poles apart from my male friends. Yes, I am happy when I am both with them. I can feel comfort as I am with them. But only Agustine can make me feel worth it.

Earlier, when Drea tried to slander and gossip my so-called flirting. My friends automatically comforted me in their own way, but Agustine did something else. He fought for me. He didn't need to console me because in the first place, he won't let anyone disrespect me. That's when I realized my feelings for him was genuine.

I didn't notice that he was my peace. That when he is there I am content despite my doubts. He became my home to come home to. I felt my safest in his presence.

I. . .

Fell in love. . .

With Agustine Bhryll Revelar.

"Do you want me to intoduce you as my boyfriend to my family?" I asked.

I shrieked when the car suddenly stopped. "What the hell, Agustine?!"

He ignored my cursing and stared at me with wide eyes. His mouth was partially open. It seems that something unexpected suddenly happened or was seen. He kept his grip on the steering wheel while his eyes blinked twice.

"Come again?" he muttered, still with his shocked expression.

I couldn't stop rolling my eyes at him when I realized why he was like that. "I said if you want me to introduce you to my family?" I repeat.

From his shocked expression, his face became serious. He didn't seem to know whether to be offended or happy with what I said. In the end, he just licked his lower lip slowly and shook his head with disbelief.

"Of course, I want to. Hell, yes. Why not? I have never been crazy to refuse your offer," he answered one after the other even though yes or no was all I needed.

I secretly snorted and tried to suppress the smile from my lips. "Okay. Drive now, Mr. Revelar. So that we could catch the people in the mansion awake," I said.

Without a word, he adjusted his seat and drove the car again. I just shook my head and leaned back in the chair; looking out the car window while passing through the quiet road. Gradually, emptiness crept inside my chest.

This is the first time I will introduce a boyfriend to the house. And really during the time when Daddy was not there and only Mommy Francheska was in the mansion. I'm not nervous that they will dislike Agustine because from the very beginning, Mommy almost throw me at him. Hypocrite, but I know for sure that they will think of this as an advantage. They will think of this as a so-called successful mission. And that's what I don't want. I wanted to flex Agustine. I wanted to show how proud I am as he's my boyfriend. He deserved that.

After a few minutes, Agustine's car finally parked in front of our house. I expected my mom to meet us since Daddy called to inform our arrival. Apart from that, Agustine is a famous businessman. So I walked into the house with Agustine frowning when only the maid greeted us.

"Where's Mommy?" I asked Manang when we were in the home office.

"Your Mommy is not feeling well. She is in her room, unable to stand up because she is dizzy," Manang replied to me.

My eyes immediately turned dark and looked upstairs where Mommy's room was. "Has he taken medicine?"

Manang nodded in response and then shifted his gaze to Agustine.

"Is he the businessman your father was referring to?" Manang asked me.

I let out a small smile then looked at Agustine apologetically. I know I said that I will introduce him to my family, but the timing didn't favor us. I wanted to call Mary France if she was in the room but I didn't want to get into trouble if she got upset with me because of it.

He gave me an assuring smile. But even if what happened to him is okay, that can't hide his desire for me to introduce him as my partner. I just shook my head and took a deep breath.

"Yes, Manang. This is Agustine, my boyfriend."

After that, Agustine's face lit up despite his shocked expression.

Yeah, it doesn't need to be my family. A simple acknowledgment from me that he's my boyfriend will do. I even introduced him to a butler.

Happy Birthday, my love...
