Chapter 35: Chapter 35
"The project will start next week."
I don’t know how many times I’ve rolled my eyes since I entered Valjerome’s office. Seeing this Briones girl made me want to puke.
How can a pretty girl act like a hoe?
She almost took off her clothes to show Valjerome her big boobies. However, my ex-husband tried to neglect it as if he isn't affected anyway. Huh! I know for sure, even if it is just a post in a skirt, he’ll fvck it.
I am here on the mini couch of his office while they are talking at his office table so I can see them from my seat.
I don't know why Valjerome brought me with him. Is it to show me how much of a cheater he is?
Tss! As if I still care, even if they sex in front of me.
Wait. On the second though. Eww! That’s gross.
I just stopped paying attention to them and picked up a magazine placed on top of the center table. I was stunned for a moment when I noticed the cover of it.
It's me.
My forehead knotted and I opened it to confirm something. It is a magazine wherein I was featured seven years ago. I am still in the modeling industry that time. My name was resonant so I am often hired as the front cover of various popular magazines.
Why does he have a copy of this?
I was stunned to see another magazine from the stacked clusters. All front covers of those were me. I bit my lower lip when an idea entered my mind.
No. Stop imagining things, Jazzie.
I heaved a sigh and decided to put back the magazines on the table. I avoided to think anything and looked again in Valjerome's direction but I was so shocked when I saw him standing on the side.
He's intently looking at me. I avoided that and simply peeked at the woman he was talking to earlier. My forehead creased when I saw her head resting on the table, eyes closed.
What happened there? Did she fall asleep suddenly?
"I...collected those before."
Valjerome caught my attention again when he spoke. I slowly looked up at him and frowned at him despite the gentle way he looked at me.
I shouldn’t be affected with his charm.
"What are you doing, Valjerome?" I asked directly in a cold tone. "Are you trying to deceive me because of my son? I thought we both understand our agreement?"
I saw him gulped and his mouth slowly opened to talk. "I just want...us to be okay," he answered.
I couldn't help, but to laugh sarcastically. I stood up and walked towards to face him.
“Where do you get the audacity to ask me for that after what happened,” I emphatically promised.
"Jazzie ..." he called softly and was about to hold my arm.
I quickly pulled my arm before he could even got it and looked sharply at him. "For Pete’s sake, Valjerome. Don’t you touch me," I said angrily. "Be thankful and I want to get away from you so I let you get close to my son, if it is not because of that, I’ll fight you to death first before you even had a chance to touch him with your hand."
"Jazzie ..." he called again and tried to touch me for the second time, but I quickly gave him a slap.
"Don't ever dare to lay a finger on me," I warned.
His eyes began to get teary as he stared at me. "Can't you really forgive me?"
I laughed and shrove in disbelief. "Can you hear yourself, Valjerome?" I said. "What happened to you and you look like a fool today?" I followed.
"I just want your forgiveness, Jazzie. Before...before you finally get away from me," he replied weakly.
I scoffed. "I've been away from you for a long time, Valjerome," I reminded.
"Please, Jazzie ..."
I slapped his face again. Because of the anger and frustration, I could not help but cry.
"FVCK. YOU. Fvck you to hell, Valjerome. You have no right to ask for my forgiveness because first of all you don't deserve that!"
Slowly, he lowered himself and kneeled in front of me. "I'm sorry. I know I hurt you, I'm sorry," he groaned as he bowed down
"Hurt?" I laughed emptily. "You just didn't hurt me, Valjerome. You destroyed me, killed, all of the bullsh*t, Valjerome. You didn't just hurt me."
"I'm sor—"
"I'm not the only one you killed," I faintly snapped at him. "Even my child, you killed my child," I hoarsely chided.
Slowly, his questioning eyes rose to me.
I stared at him. I let him saw how miserable I am.
"I was pregnant with twins then, Valjerome. I lost Erom's twin due to stress on my 4th month of pregnancy. Now tell me. How can I forgive you?"
Gradually, his eyes widened at what he has heard. I let out a fake laugh and looked up to stop the tears I was accumulating.
"Every night, I cry in fear and pain. My heart is full of regrets, hatred, and resentment for you. I lost my child because of the pain you carved in me. My child died because of you."
I looked back at him. "Now tell me. Do you have the right to ask my forgiveness?" My tears started to fall down through my cheeks. “If I forgive you, will it return back my child’s life? If yes, then I will lower my pride so that it can live," I swore.
"I-I...I didn't know," he said weakly with his bloodshot eyes.
"Because it's not really important to you. I'm not important to you or my children so you don't know. Now, don't act like you're ready to be father to Erom because it is just an illusion. Don't act like you feel something for me because I will never believe you anymore. I once fell to your change before. It will never happen again. "
He didn't speak anymore and remained on his place. I slowly turned my back on him and started walking. I was about to open the door when it opened on purpose and Jaime entered.
He was momentarily taken aback when he saw me and bowed slightly in respect then turned to Valjerome's direction.
"Señior, a guy named Chaos is outside the house. Will I let him in?"
I was shocked to hear the name Chaos. I turned to Jaime to make sure I heard.
"Chaos is here?"
Jaime hesitated to nod in response. I hurried out of the room and made my way out of the house.
In just a few seconds, I finally reached the front gate. As Jaime said, Chaos is here. He smiled sparingly at me when he saw me.
"Chaos," I whispered.
"Did you wait for me?" he scoffed curiously.
I blinked a few times because I still couldn't believe that after a few days of not updating, he showed up again. I scanned his whole body, making sure he had no wounds or anything.
"Do you miss me?" he asked again.
"You've worried me. You never call nor message me since you left," I said.
He scratched his neck and hesitated to smile at me. "I lost my phone. I didn't buy a new one right away because I was already busy with our family event."
"Erom is always looking for—"
"What are you doing here?"
A cold voice spoke behind my back. I was stunned and slowly turned to him.
Valjerome was looking sharply at Chaos. I was even more nervous the moment I saw the gun sticking out at his side.
"I am here to get my son and fiancee, Mr. Montevardo."
