Chapter 110: Chapter 110

I was pacing back and forth—waiting for him to show up—as I held tight on the pregnancy test. Almost two weeks had passed since I found out about it. I did not know what to do; all I knew was. . . I must tell him about our baby.

It's been two hours since I got here to the lobby of his condo. As soon as I landed at the airport, I asked the taxi to send me here. I want to go up to his unit, but I am afraid of his reaction. I know he's mad at me, and it might trigger him to be impulsive. If I show up here in the lobby, he can still control because there are people around.

I took a deep breath and calmed myself down. I avoided thinking about anything for fear that my child might be affected. I sat on the couch for a while to rest. Right after that, I finally saw him walking.

His attention was not on me, but on the floor. I was about to rise from my seat when a child suddenly grabbed his hand. I was even more stunned when his fiancee followed.

Our eyes met. I saw shock in her eyes, but it quickly disappeared. Her face became stoic as she walked closer to Agustine. After that she whispered to him.

I was expecting him to turn around. . . but he did not.

I was stunned for a moment. I know Lhea whispered that she saw me but he did not look at me. Agustine's fiancee held the other hand of the child with them and continued to walk out of the building as if it were a happy and whole family.

I bit my lower lip, my heart was torn into pieces. That scene seemed slapped on my face; that he really used me to take revenge, that he was really taken.

I tried to gather my strength to stand up and follow them. But the moment I stepped outside the building, a staff came in front of me.

"Mr. Revelar is telling you not to follow him. He does not want to see you."

It was as if I had been stabbed again and again at that moment. My feet were nailed to the floor while looking at the three of them. His child was giggling along with his fiancee. He smiled at the child while opening the door of his car.

Please. . . look at me. Spare me a moment.

My eyes started to blur because of the accumulated tears. I tried to strengthen my knees so as not to fall. I watched him. . . I wished for him to take a look. . . but it did not come.

My tears began to trickle down on my cheeks when his car started to drive away. I weakly lifted the positive pregnancy test I was holding and smiled bitterly.

"I'm pregnant with your child, Agustine."

I gradually felt dizzy as my vision darkened. The next thing happened, I found myself lying on a hospital bed.

"You know, Agustine," I said weakly.

He closed his eyes and then slowly approached me. He carefully held my arm and brought it closer to him. He is calm now even though there is a trace of anger in his eyes.

"Yes, let's say I was there. But I don't remember that I pushed you away, Khrystal," he convinced.

Seeing his sincere expression made me confused.

I stared at him and swallowed hard. "That’s impossible, Agustine. Your f-fiancee even saw me. I know she told you that she saw me so you sent me away from your staff."

Agustine brows slowly furrowed. His jaw tightened and the fierce anger returned to his eyes.

"She did not," he confirmed firmly.

My lips parted. I also blinked several times while staring at his serious face. He let go of me and then reached into his pocket. He took out his smartphone before pressing it.

I swallowed involuntarily when later I heard a ring on the other line after he put it on the loudspeaker.

"H-Hello . . ." it was Lhea's voice.

I saw how Agustine's hand gripped tightly on his phone. "Tell me the truth, Lhea. Don't you dare to lie," he warned.

My body began to shiver as I realized what was happening.

"Five years ago, did you really see her?" he asked coldly.

On cue, Lhea started sobbing. "I-I am sorry . . . I am really sorry, Agustine."

I covered my mouth and fell to the floor weakly. I closed my eyes tightly, but that did not stop my tears from flowing.

Why? Why did this happen to me? Why did it have to happen to my kids?

Agustine breathed deeply. "Why did not you tell me?" he asked again.

I can feel his weakness. Even though he was angry, the pain in his heart prevailed. Like me, looking back on the past five years.

Lhea did not reply, she just kept crying and mumbling, "I-I am really sorry. I'm sorry."

I saw how Agustine shut his eyes tight as his hand trembled with anger. "FVCK!"

I was startled when Agustine cursed at the same time as he threw his cellphone. Gradually, he sat on the ground helplessly, like I did, then started shedding tears silently.

I cried even more there. He didn't look at me. He just stared at the oblivion while his arms rested on his knees.

Later he let out a small laugh and shook his head. "So, this is how karma works."

I didn't say anything, I just let him talk. My eyes are wet from crying. Besides I don't have the energy to answer, I also don't know how to think properly right now.

Few minutes had passed. We remained sitting on the floor. Even if the breeze is cold, we don't care. We both just silently stared into nothingness.

"Tell me . . . did my children hate me?" he broke the silence hoarsely.

I shook my head weakly. "They never hated you."

"How about you, Khrystal? Do you still hate me?"

I was caught off guard. He was staring at me now with a sad smile on his lips.

"You are . . ." he whispered.

I looked away and secretly clenched my fist. Once again, he let out a painful laugh.

"I deserve this right?" he stated. "I am an asshole," he added.

I secretly took a breath. I didn't understand what he said and slowly stood up. I stared at him, emotionless.

"Giovanni and Giavanne, that's their name," I said and turned my back against him.

I left him on the roof top quietly sobbing and made my way back to my son's room. I'm weak. I don't even know where else to draw strength.

I stopped walking when I saw Lhea waiting outside the door of Gio's room. My breathing quickened when our eyes met. Slowly, she walked towards me.

"Sorr—"

Her words were cut off when my hand landed on her cheek. I saw her tears fall as she looked back at me.

"That's for making me believe your lie," I said coldly and slapped her again.

She held her cheek but she didn't try to fight back.

"That's for stealing the opportunity for my children to meet their father."

For the last time, I slapped her again. The corner of her lips almost burst when my hand touched her.

"And that’s for my son, for saving you daughter."
