LENA’S POINT OF VIEW

I slide out of the bed and make the bed before I leave the room. But I keep thinking about Dmitri, he may still in gray. I slowly make my way closer to the bedroom door, looking at Maia in the kitchen behind the door to making sure that she’s not here. “Fiuhh…” I exhale in relief as I saw she was busy cooking our breakfast. I make my way back towards the bed and reach my phone at the bedside, I’m scrolling my contacts to call Dmitri and ask him about the funereal.

“Hey, is everything fine?” I whisper through the phone.

“Yes, he’s just about to in his grave” Dmitri says with a slight of grief in his voice.

“Thank God! I’m sorry I won’t be able to be with you right now. But we’ll meet in Belgium after” I say.

“It’s okay, I understand…” He says.

“Do you know who did this to him?” I ask.

“Our people still looking at it, but I know that was Egor” He says.

“That asshole needs to learn! Don’t worry D, we’ll get him, I promise…” I say.

“I know…” He sighs.

“Look D, I’ll leave Maia to keep her safe… please tell the kids to keep an eye on her when I’m not here, and make sure Maia didn’t know about it! Make sure that she didn’t know she’s being watched!” I say with seriousness in my voice.

“Alright, copy that!” He replies.

“It’s a year, you know… and I only back in town once a month. Take it seriously! Tell them to not playing around or they’ll get the consequences! Everywhere she goes, they have to inform me, they have to be with her in distance! Understand?” I bark.

“Yes Lena, I got it!” He says.

“Okay good! I gotta go” I say in a low voice and hang up the phone after.

I exhale in relief as I know Maia will be safe, this house is the safest place for her, the kids will keep an eye on her and they will be in this house to keep her safe. And I don’t have to worry, I’ll do my job and settle everything’s done by myself. I off from the bedroom and make my way downstairs. I walk through 27 stairs and I see Maia still busy with the food, I smile when I see her. I’ll miss you Maia, I’ll miss you.

Tears come through my eyes and fall down to my cheeks, but I keep smiling to strengthen myself. I wipe my tears and act like everything’s normal, I make my way to Maia and hug her from behind. “Mmm… it smells good!” I say as I’m putting my chin on her shoulder and wrap my hands on her waist. Maia laughs softly as she keeps cooked the food, I softly kiss her neck from behind as I keep hugging her. “Mmm… what we got here babe?” I ask.

“We have macaroni and cheese, peanut butter sandwich, and apple pies” Maia says. “W-what! That’s much…” I laugh softly. Maia rolls her eyes and chuckles. “Really?” She starts. “It’s our last breakfast!” She ends. I kiss her cheek from behind and laugh, hugging her tighter. “I’m kidding babe… and this is not our last breakfast! I’ll be here every month to eat everything you made” I say, kissing her cheek once again. “I know…” She sighs.

“Ah… give mama smile!” I tease her as I’m tickling her belly. Maia left sweet laughs but loud, she turns around and placing her hands on my shoulders. “You look perfect babe” I whisper, looking at her beautiful face. “You said that many times…” She chuckles. “Yeah, because you deserve that!” I say, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. A sweet smile comes through her face as she looks at me, I kiss her lips softly, feeling my love for her even more through the kisses.

“Okay, where’s my food? I’m starving!” I say as I off myself from her and make my way to the dining table. Maia chuckles and serves all the foods on the table, she even made my morning coffee. “Thanks babe!” I say as I sip the coffee. Maia smiles as she slides to the seat in front of me. “Hope you enjoy your breakfast!” She says. “Of course I will!” I chuckle. “Wow… everything looks good in here!” I say, grabbing the macaroni on the table.

“Mmm… this is so… fucking tasty!” I praise her as I chew the macaroni and cheese. The food taste really good, plus the one who cooked the food was my fiancé. “Please tell me that you’re not teasing me as usual” Maia says. “No, idiot! Just take your food” I say as I keep chew my food. Maia eats the macaroni, she closes her eyes and shook her head after. “Do you think that I lied to you, huh?” I raise an eyebrow and give her a smirk.

“No, it’s tasty!” She laughs. “That’s what I said!” I roll my eyes. Maia and I enjoy our food, she finally delighted after our miserable morning black and white. “Maia, look! After I leave, my guys will look up at you in this house, they will give you everything you need, so you’re not feeling alone” I say. “Okay…” Maia replies with a slight of grief in her voice. “I’ll call you every night okay?” I demand. “Okay…” She responds.

“If you want to, I can call you every time… so no worry babe” I smile. “Oh, maybe… you can call me when you’re naked in shower, what do you think?” I raise an eyebrow and smirk. “Jeez, Lena!” Maia laughs. “Why? That’s what fiancés does, don’t you think?” I chuckle. “Maybe… that’s maybe…” She shook her head and points the spoon to me. “Have you done video call sex before?” Maia asks. I choked with my own food because of the question.

I drink the water and give Maia look. “W-what do you mean?” I ask. “I mean… you may be done that with your exes or Sasha” Maia says. I could see the jealousy within her voice as she asked me the question. “I never… I swear! But I maybe do you” I say, winking my eye at her. She laughs loudly and spills her food to my face a little. “Alright, good! Now I had food on my face” I say as I wipe my face. “That's hilarious babe!” Maia keeps laughing, her face getting red.

“Oh, so you rejected me huh?” I say as I raise my eyebrow. “No, I didn’t mean that… I mean, I will… maybe” Maia gives me a smirk as she bites her bottom lip. “Well, that’s kind of hot” I chuckle. We continue our breakfast and done in 30 minutes. “Thanks for the breakfast babe...” I say as I help Maia to clean the mess. A sweet smile comes through her face as she keeps cleaning the table. “You know babe… I wonder if we can visit my mom after I back in here next month” I say.

“W-what? Seriously?” Maia surprises. “Yes babe, I want her to see my gorgeous fiancé” I smile, making my way closer to her and hugs her from behind, placing my hands on her waist. “Does she’ll accept me?” Maia asks. I laugh softly “Of course she will!” I say excitedly. “Mmm… really?” Maia pouts as she turning around and facing me. “Yeah… she will” I smile, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "You're the prettiest girl in town!" I whisper, my eyes looking at her.

“Well, now... I have to prepare myself” I say, caressing Maia’s soft cheek as I keep looking at her. “But… before that, I have something for you” I whisper and smile. I reach my phone on the dining table next to us and play ‘I’d rather go blind by Etta James’ song. I grab Maia’s hand and pull her closer to me, placing my hands on her waist. Maia places her hands on my shoulder as a sweet smile comes through her face. “It’s our favorite song!” She says.

I couldn’t help but give her a sweet smile and soft laughs a little. We dance together, follows the tone of the slow music and moving our body together. Maia closes her eyes, she’s feeling the music reach over her body as she keeps moving her waist slowly. I hug Maia as we keep dance slowly, she places her chin on my shoulder and wraps my shoulder tightly. I close my eyes and feel her body on me, enjoy the music tone and my time with her.
